I think you were disappointed because you were expecting an M1 successor. You were disappointed because you had expectations. Free yourself from this misery. Let your mind be free and rid yourself of expectations. Be free.

I'm disappointed because the car doesn't look as the first render, I'm grateful for the nice car but it has nothing to do with the first sketch. I just hope the other car makers will stick to their respective drawings like Mercedes did.

Overall I am very happy with the BMW Vision Gran Turismo. It doesn't look as cool as the original sketch but it still looks very purposeful and powerful - The way the rear wing is integrated into the rear quarter panel is fabulous. It's a great car to attack technical sections with.

I'd love to see a proper racecar interior but it may arrive somewhere down the line but I'll not get my hopes up.

👍 from me!

I'm disappointed by how people always complain about the free content they get...

I thunk you misunderstand this thread.

This isnt so much a complaint but rather sharing a point of view.

A complaint would sound more like asking BMW to go back to their drawing boards... but none of us here is making that request.

It's ok, I always love BMW so I really like the car but I was hoping for something a little more 'wild'. The car is beautiful but it doesn't have the futuristic vibe I was getting from the whole VGT thing.

It is a nice looking car but as others have said, it's a little dull and safe.
It's certainly not futuristic, but I think it's been executed really well. The thing drives so well.

It's all about marketing for these companies and what will get the most mileage from the public. Personally, I like that they created something that harkened back to the old BMW silhouette racers

This is so scary it's epic.

Did you mean to say, it's so epic it is scary?

Now if GT can release another version more customizable so we all can personalize it... make it happen next month!

And who says manufacturers are restricted to only one vision?

I actually like this new vgt bmw, kinda "hard" to drive but very good looking despite the cartoonish looks

Although I can understand it definitely doesn't look anything like the renders/drawings shown at first, but they're in no way obligated to. I'm curious to know how it, 'evolved' perhaps?, from their first designs to what we have today.

People might not say it in that many words, but if you read between the lines a bit, it really does feel -at least to me- like another complaining whining thread.

No, but complaining and whining seems to be an on going, never ending thing there on the forums. So when I'm getting the feeling that this is a complaining/whining thread there is a 99% chance of being right..

Ignoring the interior and the sound, the most important thing is we have a car that has performance and nostalgia.

I mean... Just look at it!

It's the 2002 CSL Junior! It's cute and deadly! :O

...

Not disappointed at all. :)👍

This car is mental I can't tame it for the life of me . It's mental looking as well for a modern car.

If i say to you that my expectation of this car (visually) was not met, and yet my satisfaction is... (which is the case); would you still consider my comment as a complaint?

At least lets agree that we are only disagreeing on how this thread should be qualified as, because otherwise i agree with your other points.

I can see how that is disappointing.

Im not dissapointed at all. 👍 Of course fully modelled interior would be nice but the thing just looks awesome and it is also realistic which is important to me. The Mercedes VGT was a bit too futuristic IMO as well as some of the drawings on other manufacturers. I wish the rest of the VGT cars would be like this BMW (realistic road- and (especially) racecars) but maybe that is not the point of vision Gran Turismo anyways.. It woud be cool if some of the VGT cars would be like future LMP1 , GT class etc. racers.

Definitely not a complaint, I can even agree with you, although the car still look very good, it is a long way off from the initial sketches, vwich I personally didn't like at all, so I'm glad the car looks like it does now :p

I agree with disagreeing :p having different opinions about stuff is what makes life a bit more interesting right? :D

Some of the VGTs will have more futuristic look like the Merc and some will be more down to earth - I'm fine with that and the BMW looks awesome. 👍

The problem is the lack of interior and the unbearable sound.

Won't drive it but it will get some use in photo mode.

If it drives anything like the M4, not interested, but the torque comes in low, so I'm hopeful.

I don't think it looks bad, but I voted yes because of all of the BMW concepts they could've done, they 'only' made a good looking fast car, not a real concept car.

I would've been happy with a stock, off the shelf i8 instead.

I personally liked the M4 it was very neutral handling but could still do the smokey stuff well but, this Vision GT thing is a whole different animal.

Anyone who thinks the BMW VGT will be like a M car should look at the downforce figures.

Power and downforce equal to a GT3 race car, but slightly lighter.

Pretty sure they were referring to looks, not performance.

A. I wasn't referring to anyone in particular, just telling people that it was closer to a GT3 Race car than an M car.

B. A few people have been talking about in the context of other M cars, particularly the BMW M4, so I figured that pointing out what I did would be useful to them.
