I hope this thread doesn't get closed; I did a search but didn't see anything related to this topic.

I think it'd be cool to do a thread that's sort of the opposite of all the other track wish lists out there on GTP. Pikes Peak, Bathurst, Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Interlagos and countless GT originals like Midfield are just some of the tracks we'd all love to see in GT6 and so on.

But I also think it'd be equally important to give PD a list of tracks (real or fictional) we don't really like that much.

My only contributions are the current Fuji layout and the Daytona and Indy road courses. As for tracks currently not in any GT release, I'd have to say Montreal because it's just too flat.

I'm not just talking about tracks that are in the game now but ones such as Montreal that aren't.

I don't really have anything contribute, except for the current Fuji layout which is already in the game.

I agree the current Fuji layout is rather tame with the huge paved runoffs and little to no punishment for mistakes. I would really like if they had included the old Fuji 70s-80s layout in addition.

Personally, I don't care much for Cape Ring. It's a bit cartoonish to me with the huge jumps and undulations entering blind turns. Sure it is a challenge and I appreciate that, but it's a track that would never be run in real life and in fact would pose several major safety hazards. I understand it was kind of a 'showcase' course for PD to demonstrate the wide variety of elements that they could employ, but to me they tried to stuff 10lbs into a 5lb bag.

I don't like Cape Ring (marcus explains pretty well why), nor do I like London. Really crammed and leads to a demolition derby online.

London + Cape Ring + Fuji. Whoever decided these should be in should be shot. First in the crotch, then left to suffer. Then, after a week, finish him.

I hate Fuji, but it's an important real life course, so they really had to put it in. Though I agree, it sucks. Pretty boring to drive.

The new Rome circuit. Old Rome was much better, and as new Rome includes a fair part of old Rome, it annoys me that they didn't include it.

Eiger. Lovely scenery, don't enjoy driving it though.

Autumn Ring. Would rather have had Midfield or Apricot instead.

London. Narrow.

I for one I enjoy Fuji, and as you said, it's an important real life circuit.

Even though I've played GT since the first game I'm not too keen on the fictional original courses. I'm only using the real world tracks.

I also enjoy fuji. I don't like cape ring but the track I most despise is autumn ring. I hate the 90 degree turns the loop around... It's just not a fun track to drive.

With the 3x variety of F1s with GT5 it would've been reall nice to have Midfield. Always seemed to me the course was made for open wheel cars with downforce. I had actually forgotten about Apricot Hill until now. Really a wonderful sports car course with the elevation changes.

Oh right, I was a bit tired when I wrote the OP and totally forgot about London. It's one of the tracks I've raced on the least. It's too short (London's a big city; I hope PD will make a "London - Long Track in the future), too narrow and the corners are too tight and blind. I love technical courses but this one just takes no prisoners and punishes you for making even small mistakes. As much as I don't like the overly-exaggerated, cartoonish Shift series, their London course is much more impressive.

Cape Ring, but only the "ring" and jump section, that little bit is just crap and utterly unrealistic. The rest of the track I quite like.

London is quite naff I agree, the layouts from the PGR games and even Shift games would be much better. You can't do a London track without seeing Big Ben!! Rome get's the Colosseum!

I never want to see the return of Midfield and i've never understood the hype associated with that basic, boring track. Dullness at it's highest form. Apricot Hill is boring too, don't like the new Rome, London is pointless and that boring SS5 or what ever it is has long run it's course. Get rid of Deep Forest too, can't stand these tracks that have lasted through every GT title when they could have so easily included some new real circuits. Oh, and Tsukuba just to round it off.

The part in red pretty much sums up the whole reason there are so many problems with this game.

Tracks I wish were gone;
1. Top Gear Test Track (besides being lame, it's not a race course)
2. Indy and Daytona Superspeedways (both tracks and the cars shouldn't be in the game. If I want to run Nascar, I'll load up the Nascar game which actually does it right, GT5 Nascar experience is a joke.)
3. SS7 (Does this really need an explanation? (You have to be below the age of 12 to actually like this "track")

There are more, but I'm tired of typing.

Actually I like the SS7. It's a great track to test car settings. Another track that doesn't really grab my attention much is the daytona track. I prefered montegi and super speedway a lot more.

I don't think I've ever driven on SS7. I'll to go scope that out.

Anything redesigned by Herman Tilke, That guy ruins racetracks.

I like the actual Laguna Seca track, but the imitation in this game only has the same shape. It looks terrible.

I don't like Tsukuba either, it's boring and overused. Fun for drifting, but that's about it.

Daytona Road Course has to be the worst track in the game. First, it has one of the hardest corners (which I think is a good thing actually) but then it's entirely flat and really narrow. It also has spots where the road splits and goes off into a dead end with only small white lines to guide you. This is no problem for someone who knows the track, but a certain spot is kinda poorly defined and I've seen new drivers go in the wrong direction. Plus the random chicane in the middle of the back straightaway only causes wrecks.
Now for stuff I don't want to see added.

Sebring international Raceway. Played it in Forza 3, hate the layout and everything.

On a related note to Sebring, flat tracks bore me. If anything, I'd like to see a parking lot that you can simply set up walls for and that's about it. Also, narrow tracks without embankments are fine for driving, but actual racing against people is usually a bad experience. Sorry, but the Nurburgring falls into this category, despite popular opinion.

Cape ring would be one of the best if not for the jump by the ring.

Sorry, but I have to laugh at this thread and the fact that nobody likes the top rated tracks in the world (Sebring, Daytona, Indy, Nürburgring etc) not only are they the top rated tracks (along with SPA and Silverstone) but they are some of the most technical tracks in the world.
I for one feel the reasons some of you don't like them is because you can't just walk away from people on them in a race, and therefore you want to cry about it and want them to take them out of the game. Deal with it, learn how to DRIVE the tracks instead of using an overpowered car to run on them.

Just my opinion tho

I like Cape Ring. But not the centrum and jump. So i like the outside more.

I hate London, new Rome, Fuji F,

Madrid. I absolutely despise it.

Strange! Madrid is one of my favourites, what about it do you not like? I'm curious. Graphically it's one of the better tracks and it tight and technical with some sweeping corners for high speed excitement, pretty good considering it's within the confines of a real road network. London and Rome are not in the same league (I'm referring to the main Madrid track of course!)

I don't like London, as it is too narrow. I also despise Tokyo 2005 GT. The large expanses of tarmac beyond the actual track make it hard to see where the actual track is.

I guess Madrid Full is ok cos it's a pretty technical track, but Madrid Mini is just a plain and uninspired triangle. It's way too small as well, you just get enough space to go flat-out, and have to slow way down for the corners, which seems to lead to a lot of low speed trundling along.

Plus, I don't really like city courses either, so I'm maybe just biased against it. Also, I just got back into GT2, and also realised just how much I hated Seattle Short and Rome Short. :yuck:

Ah I see, yeah the mini madrid is a bit cack I agree. It's really only a track for the slower cars.

I wish I still had GT2, only one I've lost :(

Well you can't blame the guy if he has to follow FIA safety guidelines that dominate any new tracks that are on the blueprints.

I love Montreal, so not that. I much prefer the new Rome compared to the old crap, so not that. What track do I not want in the game? I'm not really sure.

Grand Valley, hated it ever since the Lambo Licence (IC-10 I think)

Yeah, well your opinion sucks. (just kidding) :sly:

I stated why I don't like the tracks, I said nothing about using overpowered cars at all.

Indy road course, I actually like. Not sure why, when the other, similar tracks, make me rage. I think it's because it's significantly wider and the corners feel like they're laid out with some thought and planning.

Daytona is narrow, flat, and it seems they just took whatever roads were laying around and turned them into a "road course." It's a challenging and difficult course (despite not really having very many corners) but it's annoyingly so.

Sebring is the same. Played in Forza 3 and I hate it. Large sections of the course take place on partially marked sections of parking lot. The last 180 degree right hander before the finish is a huge series of bumps that require you to go pointlessly slow to not wipe out on what should be a perfectly flat surface. And like Daytona, the different layouts and collection of roads that make up the course, cause parts to lead off into different directions with less markings than I would want. This isn't rally, when I race a track for the first time, I shouldn't need a co-driver. lol (it's not that bad though)

And the Nurburgring, I never said it was bad. In fact, it's an excellent collection of turns and straights that makes for amazing practice and training. Unfortunately, it's very narrow and winding with elevation changes, width changes, and bumps galore. This makes it bad (in my opinion) for an actual competitive race with a large number of drivers. Mostly, the guy in first (regardless of if he's actually the fastest of the pack, will pull away while everyone else gets stuck behind slow cars, must go slower for lack of track space, or gets caught in those ever-so-frequent 8 car wrecks.

Tsukuba is too small for most races. It's almost as boring as an oval. But again, drifting and other, less mainstream events are good on this track.

A bunch of other tracks, like Nurburgring GP, Suzuka, Fuji, and Cote D'azure, London, Rome (New), and most all "mini" circuits; I don't really like either, but I don't have any real complaints other than "I don't like them."

Never been a fan of Tokyo 246 or SSR5.
Generally I like all the real courses + imaginary courses in real locations.
Daytona & Indy road courses I find good challenges
