using a 5X5 chess board layout, arrange 5 Queens and 3 Pawns so the Pawns are not in any danger from the Queens(usual chess moves)...

ok heres the next one, if i am 10 km from a coin, and each day i travel half the distance to the coin, how long before i am at exactly the same point as the coin...

Never.

what is the radius of the coin? If you are measuring from the center of the coin then you will eventually touch it at some stage, but you will never get to the center of the coin

the coin thing, works on the same princple as a half-life of an element. when carbon-dating, the element (for sake of arguement, uranium), will lose half of it's radioactiveness every X years. it will eventually get to 0, but not for another good few 100,000 years. to carbon date something would be to measure it's half-life, form the carbon in the element (if any), and find out how old it is. just an interesting point there.
