I seem to be in a bit of a Sci-Fi mood at the moment. 😅

Having enjoyed watching the Anime series Delicious in Dungeon on Netflix, i splashed out on the box set (with a decent discount) of the actual books. It is all in English, but being originally Japanese, you read the books from back to front. Only in excess of 2500 pages to read!

First off, I picked up a new pen from a friend. He had an extra, so chucked one my way for a decent price. This is the Diplomat Viper:

And secondly, I had to pick up this shirt when I saw it. So hecking funny, and my gosh I love that we're able to joke about it here

I secretly ordered and installed a new TV and soundbar at my Mum's today...

The TV is amazing, and the sound is incredible. Mum is delighted with it, so I am very happy.

I also upgraded my Netflix account to 4K UHD, so I will get really good use out of it as well.

A little used, but I've been considering finally tackling reading these and the price was right...

I’ve read all four of them, first when I was 14, then again at 21, and again at 28.

I got these today. More Patreon rewards from Yoshi Yoshıtani. They’re 4x6 prints. Each month, the artist selects a palette and a theme, and then creates three images based on them. The first one is called “Year of the Fire Horse” and was the February reward. It was sent to my old address and then returned to sender rather than forwarded to my new address, despite the fact I turned in a change of address with my post office. The company that sends those out for Yoshi Yoshıtani contacted me, got my new address, and sent it back out with the June rewards. The June rewards theme was “Bisexual Love Triangles”. The photo of the back shows the palette chosen for each set. Now that I’m retired, I have to watch every penny. I’ve cancelled half of my Patreon subscriptions, but this one won’t get cancelled. I love the art too much.

A few more purchases rolled into one here...

I ordered a poster from Japan - it's from the original release of 'The Boy and The Heron' (known as 'How Do You Live?' in Japan).

My sister took me to IKEA to buy a 50 x 70 cm frame for it, but it was too small - the poster is Japanese B2, which was marginally too big for the frame, so my sister went back to IKEA this morning to get an even bigger frame, and it looks brilliant!

Finally, my little display spotlights (£10 each) arrived.

Also got some chopsticks from Maison Ghibli in France...

Picked this up for $2.99 on Steam, and oh my lord is it jank. I've only ever played this on PS+ back in the day and decided what the hell with this price, but to need mods to even make the thing work properly is...next level.

And of course, this for some weekend fighting game fun:

I wish I wasn't so useless at fighting games because Tokon looks amazing.
Fighting games really aren't that different from anything else. I won't lie to you though, there is a certain level of... determination required to take everything in and consistently improve/learn, doubly so when facing real people.

But there's levels to it, just like a racing game — you don't have to be a tournament champion to enjoy them. Just hop in and start pressing buttons, see which character(s) clicks with you and go from there.

So, if you've read my posts in here over the years, you probably know I love Shania Twain and will grab any CD I can find from her. When I learned she had a new album coming out, you could imagine I was pretty anxious to get my hands on this one, so I did, and it arrived today! :D Been looking forward to it because not only is she my favorite artist, but Tanya Tucker is another one of mine as well, and the fact that the two collaborated together for the song "Little Miss Twain" is something I certainly cannot ignore. Also, the song "Faded Blue Jeans" sticks out to me as well since she collaborated with Josh Homme. While I don't know him too well, Need for Speed Prostreet had a song called "Restless", which was one of my favorite songs in that game that I just happened to listen to recently, and the fact that he's on there with her is something I was not expecting, but hey, I welcome it! 👍

I have only listened to the 2 aforementioned tracks so far, but I am eventually going to listen to the entire album when I can find some quiet time. I am already pretty moved by just those 2 alone, and I am curious to see what the rest of the album is like.

Something I didn't know until today is that they have a Target release of the album with an extra track that's not on any other release, and Apple also has one. Upon learning of this, I bought the latter right away, and at some point, I am going to get the Target Exclusive too just because I will get anything I can find from her these days. :P I don't regret getting this one, though, since the Walmart Exclusive release has an exclusive track on there as well, and I would've gone for it anyway.

You know what? I totally get this kind of thinking. It’s why I have three different CDs of Elvis Costello’s My Aim is True. The original US release on CBS, the Ryko reissue with extra songs, and the Rhino reissue with an entirely different set of extra songs.

I bought a very lovely book of the artwork from the 2017 anime film "In This Corner of The World", and to my surprise it was available to buy on Apple TV, so I bought the film last night.

The book is simply gorgeous, and it is hand-signed by the film's art director Kosuke Hayashi, who also did some of the key background painting. He is also worked on the Studio Ghibli film "The Boy And The Heron", quickly becoming my new favourite SG film, and a stunning example of Hayashi's work. I also have a signed, frame print coming my way in a few weeks' time, which I can't wait for. And iIt was very reasonably priced, not least given that it is signed by Hayashi - I got it here.
