A pointless feature on gt5...

What annoys me is those kids that just drive straight into the wall with no intentions of slowing down (on SSR7 wangan runs!).

One persons excuse was "braking causes accidents"... so does plowing into a wall at 220mph just because you're too lazy to brake for the corner, but OK...

Just use heavy damage online. Really. You'll be left with 6 people, but 6 good drivers.

You're point is left somwhat mute by the fact that there's not a single game out there with "realistic" damage modelling. Sure, there's games that do it better than GT5, but no one has managed to pull off a realistic model. Why? Because it's extremely complicated.There's a ton of variables to consider, and I would assume all these variables take up a lot of processing power.

There's just as little point in not having any damage, as there is with having the current damage model.

You are probably right about the processing power. I believe PD and the manufactures have some understanding that GT5 is a game just to show-off the cars; end result more sales. If it weren't for our complaints they probably wouldn't have any damage at all.

What's pointless in the game? Horns.

So we should appreciate everything they do no matter what the quality is like?
 
CryEngine 3 looks good, but I doubt manufacturers would like giving a license to a developer who would allow their licensed vehicles to be totalled.

Indeed, hence why their car list is so small. Yes you are right the cars are licensed and can be totaled.
