I recently saved my GT5 content to a flash drive because the old PS3 fat was starting to act up. Sure enough it failed and I ordered a brand new PS3 slim 160Gig. It just showed up today and I've been reinstalling everything on it. However when I try to copy over my game data it said something about this being "another users" save data and creating a new save file.

My 2 questions are first do I need to be signed into the PSN before my saved game data can be recovered? Or is there a chance my Username is not exactly the same as the save file and that is causing issues (ie: upper and lower case?)

Just wondering is someone can clue me in. Thanks. Sorry if this is posted elsewhere I have to duck out for a meeting and didn't have a lot of time to check around. Nice forum BTW 👍

Yeah GT5 game saves can only be used on the same PSN profile. This is to prevent you from taking your game save and transfering it to another friend. Sorry I'm not sure how to go about recovering it all on your new system but I do believe you'll need to do that first before your game save will transfer over.

I figured it was something to do with the lack of a PSN sign in as that was the only variable missing that I could not test. Oh well hopefully the network is up and running soon.
