sorry to say but i disagree on much of your review. i'm not going to bother writing up an essay on it as i'm just jumping on the pc for a few minutes between races on gt5p.
in bullet point
- physics - vastly improved. arcade mode doesn't feel realistic at all especially with driving the f430 (the car i'm driving at this moment in the game) but in simulation mode with the aids off the car is definitely lively. the nsx i drove earlier in the game was very lively aswell and needed careful throttle control to keep straight.
- ai - vastly improved as well. countless times the ai tries to block you or when they know they are beaten you are given room but by no means do they make it a charity. there are at times the cars feel like they are just following a line but thats because if they were in those situations it would make them majorly overzealous. also the times the cars do plow into you it is when they are at a point they cant brake any harder to avoid the accident. watch the reply you will notice they are hard on the brakes. ive taken a video infact that demonstrates the ai will go to a complete stop to avoid you if they can. also with the ai making mistakes.. have you played the game much? because i have seen a fair few times the ai veer off the road and make mistakes
- sounds.. are you playing this game with headphones? i've got my game connected to a 5.1 channel surround and in compariosn to gt4 this game #$^% on it sound wise
- graphics: people have seen the screenshots. the game looks amazing and yes it does have some jaggies occasionally but its leaps and bounds an improvement even over the demo. all i wish the game did have though was tyre marks
👍 Good bullet points.
I'm quoting my response from another post that would fit here...
"Simple answers if the clutch works and if there are 16 cars on the track are concrete answers, but discussions about physics and AI behaviors are very subjective without the credibility to back it up without showing videos. How do we know if the person that played the game appreciates how a rear wheel drive car is suppose to drive??
"
When someone says the audio is crap...questions linger...what kind of audio equipment did they use? What kind of hearing sensitivity do they have?
When someone says the Physics is no good compared to Forza, that may imply that the person playing the game is more happy with the Forza phyics than the GT physics, and not willing to adapt to GT physics. I've played Forza 2, its fun I admit, but the dirving physics is there, but it's not intuitive, it's easy turn in and gas and get oversteer, and countersteer to correct. It's simplicity makes it easy to mimic these driving characteristics of cars, but for some doesn't deliver the same reward and satisfaction and difficulty level that some seek. That is where the opinions are subjective. And based on this added background information is where I claim GT5P Physics are better than Forza 2 physics...get it?
Credit goes to the author of this thead to begin that way with giving background information about their experience to reviel to the readers where they are drawing their comparisions.
I try to read as much reviews as I can, but at the same time keep in mind that these are other people's thougths on it. Which I enjoy reading and learning more about. I collect all the information I can, but I really have to validate those claims myself personally by playing the game to see why it was given a certain claim.
I am posting this thought to encourage others not to over speculate or be disspointed because of bad or negative reviews. Vise Versa for positive reviews too.
I can assure you that the clutch on the G25 works, and there are 16 cars on the track. The background music can be turned off during play, etc...
Keep the reviews coming, and keep an open mind for yourself so you don't spoil the game for yourself by being influenced by anyone's negative responses.
I'm still blown away with this game. It's vastly improved with the compatibility of the Logitech G25.
