I have tried every GT500 car that I own. (GT-R, NSX, HSV-010, Supra, SC430, etc.) I can only manage a 3rd place finish. I think that someone posted a setup for the HSV that was a banger. I can't find it. Have to read through the thread again I guess.

do you know where your are loosing time ?
Did you fly off ? or cant push on the outline ? or at least the AI that makes it hard to overtake ?

Someone told about the "Ring" : "the most important corner is the last towards any straight. All others are not" :) something like this, or more like that what i made of it but still a key for this track anyway :)

I have been racing the Nurb' since they put it in the game. I have consistent times at or around 6:30 ish. It just seems like the AI are a bunch or chumps that want you to fail. I have tried clean, and not-so-clean passing. This one has me stymied. I will pay attention to the field from now on.

I stay on the track for the most part.

I will check out post #173 also.

You cant take the AI seriously, weaving around and braking in the middle of the track. A good start field is: 15th Lexus, 14th Supra and 13th NSX. It is perfect, you should overtook them easily before Schwedenkreuz

You have done a triple post with the same writing, edit 2 of them and you should be good.

My internet is acting wonky. I can't figure out how to delete the 2 extraneous posts.

He's right. He may not be able to delete the posts himself even if he wants to. An admin with privileges will most likely have to do it for him.

I only said to edit them like 'Sorry for triple post' or similar. Edit: All good :)

Back on topic. The rest of the field isnt really critical but without the Nismo Z '06 in front there is the chance to get slipstream and 1st place before the first Karussel.

Sorry this wasnt meant to make you angry somehow. ;)
a 6:30 should be more than enough to win this event.
Its all about overtaking as soon as possible i think.
if you do several try of this event you'll find where you have to overtake which position at least to not loose much time.

as @RacingHardTV allready said the Lexus as 15th (first to overtake) in the field is perfect. Its not very fast through the "Hatzenbachbogen" and you should be able to overtake him before you enter the S-curves of Hatzenbach. If not try again ;)

the next should be overtaken before you come to the right 220kph right turn of Flughafen. Use the slipstream (draft) of the 14th. At the end of the Flugplatz you should allready be in the slipstream of the 13th to overtake him at the exist of long fast left of the Flugplatz. And so on and so on ...

They are weaving a lot ... but every time with same pattern. watch them to learn the pattern and dont get suprised.
for example on the exit of Flughafen the flatout left towards Schwedenkreuz the Ai all of a sudden turns to the inside. if you know it you can react faster.
There are such patterns all over the track.
And YES the AI wants you to fail ... nothing else. They have no other fun while doing this race. :D

I have won with R35 and HSV with the most popular tunes here. You definitely need to try one of the tunes posted, if you are having a hard time to win.

The HSV tune from Cory plus the philosophy Nihamasavasa72 is outlining is how I was finally able to achieve my gold. You really need to learn the bots driving patterns so you can pass quickly without running off course. Getting around cars and keeping your average speed up is the literal key to this race. I tried MANY times driving really clean and passing clean / waiting for an opening and I never managed better than third place. It wastes so much time sitting behind someone.

especially because most of the overtaking takes place in the first half of the race where you have a lot of long straights where you can loose a lot of time staying behind some other cars

I'm getting frustrated with this one. I've come in 2nd or 3rd numerous times now (with the Raybrig HSV-010 '12 using coryclifford's HSV tune), but my best was a 6:40 lap (7:08 total time? Shouldn't the lap be the total time?) and I finished a couple seconds back from the XANAVI Z.

Had what seemed like a really clean run today (6:45 lap), but still finished 3rd...29+ seconds back from the leader?!?! (2nd was just behind the leader).

I've tried the NSX GT500 Base Model (with coryclifford's tune) and the Xanavi GT-R too. Still no luck.

I'm still trying to figure out how you guys are getting total times under 7 minutes. I'm not sure where I'm losing the time out there. I should check my splits.

As allready mentioned in the threat before your totally right. the laptime isnt the total time... there is a gap of about 28 seconds because the counter starts with the 1st car crossing the line while your the last car ;)

Mostly people get stuck on 2nd or 3rd position. There are a lot of hint to manage it in the threat.
What exactly is happens on your trys. Where do you catch up the other cars or how are you overtaking them ?

I think most of us are able to drive a 6.35 on the Ring if we are all alone so mostly its the AIs which makes trouble, isnt it ?

I wish we could team up on these events with bots and help people practice. I'm no pro, but I'd be happy to show someone the passing lines or something that would help people get through traffic. Also, if you are struggling to pass safely with SRF turned off, try turning it on. Maybe the car is not as stable as you need to get through clean.

I wish we could have a lot more community features in the game ... not just PHOTOS to share :banghead:
and ghost are more annoying and irritating then something else.

Why cant we share replays of races or at least several superrounds to let our friends watch them as replay so they can figure out whats going wrong... i would strongely recommend such feature... but no way

back to topic sorry :) (what a pitty those community features ... )

also try to set AS at least to weak or even to strong. feels a bit weired sometimes but lets you stay on the track.
Just give it a try

I find that each restart with the same group of AI I can pass the first car before the S's sometimes. When I can't, I use him as a berm/wall and bounce off him from the inside to get by. I usually restart about 4 or 5 times when I first log in before I'm warmed up enough to get through clean. I know I could go slower and just follow at a safe distance until I'm warmed up, but it's more fun to risk a few off's and reset.

I have won it in a couple cars. All have been in the 6:35 to 6:39 time frame. It's just a matter of timing and random changes in the performance of the AI.

Ok...finally beat this one and could have beat it a race earlier if I hadn't dropped one back tire off and spun (would likely have been a faster time too).

Still, I only managed a total time of 7:05. Unlike the previous race, I did get caught up in traffic early on and also got bumped off the track...so I have an idea that I *may* have been able to break 7. But, man, I felt like I had to be "on" the whole time...to have the rhythm just right to keep from putting any wheels off the track (and, even then, I had to chance cutting grass to get around traffic and I did hit one barrier).

I was glad to see that the prize was actually the Stealth NSX and not the GT500 Base NSX Race Car...I have quite a few NSXs in my garage, but that particular model was not already among them.

I always finish 2nd with my Woodone Tom's Supra, just like in Sugo JGTC 2003 season with 1 or 2 seconds of difference.
Maybe is time to test the Honda HSV-10:(

Decided to buy the base model SC430 and I must say that it's a good choice for this one, with a tune of course :D

I was bored,so i did a couple of tunes,no they are not perfect, but good enough,i know there is only few days to go on this seasonal, but they might help someone....sorry for the long post...

Thanks @lisanorm I'm going to try a few of those. I won twice with the HSV and once with the GT-R base model and now the AI seems to be getting better and I can't get better than 2nd or 3rd.

no probs...some are a bit rough, and have different power output, only because i wanted to be a bit different,i have won with all but some are far better than others....i have little notes in between the tunes for some things to be changed...anyway good luck...
