Yes, I too would LOVE to have a luxury Bentley or Rolls-Royce, especially with Gran Turismo's flawless focus on detail.

And again, I love my supercars in GT5 (got all of them, several of the same type and drive and enjoy them very frequently) but I mostly enjoy variety and diversity.

This, is a vital feature in GT franchise, so I think than we should have a selection of few supecars and a healthy amount of 'street' cars 👍

Midnight Snacks
Wouldn't that make it A-spec?

Not if another player hired you to drive their car, while they raced another.

I love this idea, now if only it would actually happen. Something tells me Kaz would nail it if he saw this.

I hope they make an announcement for GT6 soon.
I'm just nervous to see whether it will be a whole new experience or just expanding on GT5 a little.

All of that is a good idea, except for limited garages, and I would like being able to go to something like google maps and set up races on real life roads. It would be sweet if you could set up a track around Washington D.C. or doing a multi-country race through Europe or an endurance race from end to end of a country.

I could think of ways to expand this that could work excellently as an MMO. Although you'd have to engineer in the inevitable "griefers" as part of the game, i.e. offer mechanics to deal with it in-game e.g. police etc.

The rarity of cars shouldn't be an issue. You could still get hold of a Mustang from Kanga-land no bother, but your range of choice and price would be limited. Unless you establish a "base" in foreign lands so your minions can do the searching for you and there's always the possibility of importing. Or just put some sort of search engine in-game, that feigns a sort of classifieds search that is contextual to your location and your "contacts" etc.

But (excessively) limited garages suck. I'd buy an old barn, personally. Or just park on the street :p

How would you deal with the track issue? You'd need a healthy, uniform selection of locations to race at for each starting location, but I think getting enough without resorting to fictional circuits may be difficult.

As much as I love it, I sort of disagree on limited garage space. Good on paper, bad in reality.

I see it as this:
Player- OMFGBBQWTFH! A used F40! (living in the US btw)
Game- HHAHAAAHAHAAA! Suck it! Ether buy a new house and lose your precious F40 or buy your F40 and replace one of your other sexy cars! Muahahahahaa!!!
Player- WTF *rage quit*

See? Fun? No.

But, everything else seemed fine. Also sort of like the used car rarity idea. Would make certain cars more valuable to certain people (how often do you see a used Enzo in the US? Or a used Ford GT in the UK?)

Although I'm more towards just waiting for Kaz to announce GT6.

I think trackday cars should be brought in...ktm, radical, atom, adr, norma. But also the open wheel Star Mazda, F1000, F3.

Also a livery editor.

Maybe different parts supplier choices. If you want an intake upgrade then decide between KN, AEM, etc.

Sponsors...earn extra money thru contingency money then earn sponsorship money in Pro Rounds.

More Race Mod cars.

More Premium race cars.

Doesn't sound like a GT game. I hope the series will remain focused on driving cars and not turn into some kind of virtual racing career experience. I like the idea of walking around inside your garage but I don't want to buy a garage. The game should remain what it is/was but some eye candy won't hurt.

Sounds like a game that I would love to play!

Too bad GT6 won't be out for another 10 years or so.

Agreed.
I think you should be able to purchase your own property, and build/design a race track on it.
Scenery would depend on where you build it.
This could also provide you with income, as well as you needing to pay taxes on it.
You can go to other people's tracks online, but have to pay for a track day etc.

Just an idea.
Would be pretty difficult to implement all this.
Starting to look a lot like TDU2 lol.

Another idea would be to expand on the driver levels. Make it easier to level up, but borrow a page from COD and include a 'Champion' mode where you can restart at lvl 0 but get special recognition or items for doing so. Maybe rewards would include things like special driver clothing, items for the garage, liveries(face it, GT6 needs a livery editor) or even a car.

Prestige mode? nahhhhhhh

Too bad GT6 won't be out for another 10 years or so.

Didnt Kaz said that we wouldnt have to wait that long for GT6? Between GT3 and GT4 there wasnt a 5-6 year gap.

They dont need 1000 cars in GT6. 400 - 500 are enough, with a solid mix for everyone to find some car he can enjoy. It has to improve at the multiplayer part and in the customization. Engine swaps, race modifications at least for more cars, a livery editor and a wide range of wheels, with changeable width and tyre pressure.

A bit free driving on public roads or some wangan action would be nice. The SSR tracks are quite nice, but a big highway network would be pretty amazing.

Kaz said that GT will be more of a car museum, which should not let other features go down, by archiving some old Honda CRX.

They have to organize themself and have to target a complete game. Nothing that needs monthly patches, because of their failing organization.

The garages are some good idea. But the buying is pretty annoying and I want to spend my money on cars.

Why not getting garages, when your car collection grows. I found it pretty nice to get more and more garages in PGR 3. Maybe special garages, when you hit a certain number of cars of one manufacturer. That would be a nice extra!

GT6 should come out around 2013. Kaz has said that he wanted two more years of dev time for GT5, so we should expect GT6 to be the epic game that we were all hoping for.

That game you're describing isn't Gran Turismo. Gran Turismo is great because it sticks to a formula and doesn't try to be something it's not. I've been playing the GT series as far back as I can remember because I like driving/racing, I have no interest in decorating a house/garage or picking out clothes...hence the reason I don't play TDU2.

Furthermore, good luck finding/building/walking around in a garage with hundreds of cars in it...how long would that take to load?

Its not about cracking or braking the core of the game. If you dont want a feature then dont use it. I seriously find the museum cards useless, but many people like old cars and their history. GT5 added custom helmets and clothes too lately, so what?

No change is boring, and while improving the core, why not add new features?

I've got to say, most of the comments in here have absolutely nothing Gran Turismo-esque about them.
It sounds as if just about everyone wants a TDU and Forza combination.
I do have TDU, Forza, and GT and I like them each for what they are, Different from each other.
I have to say that personally I love GT5 for what it is, yes I do have small gripes here and there but GT always has been and I hope always will be about the focus of the car and track relationship.
I would like to see a couple things changed like a livery editor, the ability to add wheels for all cars, less Miatas and Skylines, more racing mods, ability to have the rare occasion a 0 mile car can show up in the UCD, remove the level system, etc. Nothing major, no changing of the GT formula.

[RANT]I have to say that I think DLC and patching has ruined games. Yes, they can be a good thing, but take DLC for example. Nobody seems to ever be happy with a game, from the minute it is released, oh I hope there is DLC for this and that. DLC comes out and then suddenly they are dissatisfied and want more.
Patching makes game makers lazy and push out and unfinished game and say ehhh we will just patch it later.

Back on topic: Do you guys remember GT1 and GT2? None of this flash and extra crap that doesn't need to be there. Strictly cars, tracks, and racing. How many of you fell in love with the GT series because of either of those 2 games? I'm sure it was most of you. Then Forza and TDU comes out in years later and you all lost sight of what GT was about and it's formula that you fell in love with.
It's like saying you want a new girlfriend/wife because the one you've been with for years is getting older and not looking the same and you want to trade her in for a younger newer model that doesn't have so many miles, looks better, and isn't played out.

For me the rpg aspect is interesting and fun, but I'd rather leave that to other games like Forza, TDU, GRID, NFS, etc.

I'm sure I may have brought up points that will be hard for some to see but I just get tired of reading all these things about how people want to change everything about GT5 and never have any praise for what it is. I do hope GT6 sticks to the GT formula and doesn't conform to all this glitter and fluff games do nowadays, and have IMPROVEMENTS over what they weren't able to do with GT5. I hope GT6 is the GT5 Kaz wanted to make.

*starts the slow clap*

Sounds like a mix of all the racing games does that Test Drive Unlimited, Project Gotham Racing, TOCA Race Driver

No offense, but I hope if Kaz were to read this thread, he'd be influenced by the people wanting to expand GT rather than those wanting to keep it basically the same. Without interesting updates in 6, it just becomes GT5 + new track/car pack and we'll have been playing the same basic game for 13+ years now.

Edit: To clarify, GT5 + new tracks(LOTS of them, plus the old ones)/car pack would be a good game and I'd buy it, but I think GT can be a lot more, and Kaz clearly thinks that too, considering all the small stuff he's tried to get in over the years (photo mode, gt auto, b-spec, etc).

Well, honestly more cars, tracks and some other improvements (AI, livery editor etc.) it's all I want. For instance I will be more than happy to renounce at bspec mode to find a blazing premium TVR Speed 12 in my garage. Life is short, just drive! :sly:

Kaz is just going to add more polys, but the game will be dumbed down even worse and be half the size of GT5. That's the pattern I see.

Really? I like supercars too (not all of them, don't get the excitement for that bluntly shaped and cold, soulless Koenigsegg)..
Man it's your taste and I respect it, but in a racing/driving game I prefer to race/drive cars that really give me some exitement, I mean a Bentley a Limo, all the luxury stuff are cool in real life around the streets but you're not going to use them on a track day, not so often at least. And yes I love that cold soulless Koenigsegg. :O

What? Pattern? Was GT4 half the size of GT3? Did GT4 have Time-Change, 3D, or Course Generator? Things that weren't possible back then. Technologically speaking and space limits.

Add more polys? Kaz said the premiums in GT5 are fit to be on the next gen of consoles.

Do you play Call of Duty?
If so your point goes right out the window.

It's defiantly a fresh idea and I really like the idea of not being able to find a Holden as easy as you would be able to find a Chevy if you lived in certain parts of the U.S.

QFT, that's exactly how I feel about Gt5. I'm gazing longingly in the direction of Forza 4. time for some strange :)
Btw I do hope Gt6 features major innovations to both the AI and career modes. As it stands the series seems to be stagnating, imo, and for the first time I'm not actually hyped in the least for the next GT game.
