I would love to have such restrictions and I welcome them all.

I do not need them for any kind of Open Lobby races, I need them for my Private Lounge races where I race with my friends and community members for our own fun and competition.

Nominally, we all race with all aids off, ABS included. But, as we all know, since it is possible to change ABS from the AR-menu, sometimes I wonder have somebody decided to abuse the mutual gentleman's agreement and switch ABS on for his own god.

Same with views, I would like to have an option to ban roof-view from the usage as well, or limit the race to cockpit-view only.

More restrictions is good, you can shape the controlled environment where all racers are racing under the 100% same conditions.

I voted Yes
I think that restrictions (as an option) are a good idea.
I would love to force the cockpit view. Even though I am terrible with such view, I think it would really embrace the 'simulation' approach.
We (me and my friends) love to compete 'with the same weapons'.

I can and will say whatever I please and your opinion in the matter is unimportant. I'll thank you to kindly troll someone else as I have no interest in your comments. :)

I never said you couldn't state your opinion, so I'll thank you kindly to pull the stick out of your ass that makes you think I care enough about you as a member to follow you around when the only thing I was actually doing was pointing out a flaw in the logic you used to support what you said in a topic I was already watching. What I actually said was that your opinion contained a glaring double standard, and thus the logic you used to support it was invalid.

I'll also "thank you kindly" to not turn this into a personal fight, because with how hypocritical that post you just made was you wouldn't win; nor do I really want to put up with someone with such a swollen ego that he thinks that having his logical statements challenged means that the person who did it is out to get them.

I can't use MT, after two bouts of tendonitis in my right shoulder. I would prefer to be able to, I'm faster with it, but AT is better than no GT5.

I don't know about you guys but I would love the day if PD would add the ability to restrict the tranny type to a manual one and to be able to restrict ABS. Thoughts?

Voted for the option of Yes in the survey because the restrictions can put the drivers to play under the same condition without unruly acts that can be obstacles for fairness in public lobbies. Within the limitation of use of ABS aid some people who had been stuck with the Automatic Transmission would be at a loss of controlling the car and have difficulties adapting themselves to another option, it would be nothing for those liking the MT and so is for abolition of ABS that is less likely to be used alongside the change of transmission.

No car could possibly embody the spirit of GT5 better than the GT-R (due to obvious reasons) and that is why I posted the link. If you check, it comes factory shipped with abs and a flappy paddle gearbox. That's pretty much what I posted in my op right? So quit your holier than thou bs and vain attempts to pick apart my statements for semantics. Your logic is not exactly so untouchable that you need to be such a dick.

Not in the slightest. What you said in your first post is that a MT restriction is fine because most race series do the same thing, and an ABS restriction is not because most cars come with ABS.

When you justify a statement entirely based on a logical premise (which yours was), showing flaws in that logic is not arguing semantics.

Your logic is not exactly so untouchable that you need to be such a dick.
So here's a thought: How about in the future you explain your logic when it is questioned and you explain statements like the one I just quoted regarding why my logic is flawed, rather than calling the people questioning it trolls and saying their logic sucks without explaining why?

Because all it does is make you look like a hypocritical fool when you say things like that.

I would like to see the AT/MT option for the simple reason that I can not recall many race (or used for racing) cars without at least semi-manual transmissions, but the abs seems a bit far since most cars do come factory sealed with it. I don't know if you could even order a newer sports car like say a Z06 without it if you wanted to do so. ?? But I agree completely that the manual transmission only should be a selectable option.

Not in the slightest. What you said in your first post is that a MT restriction is fine because most race series do the same thing, and an ABS restriction is not because most cars come with ABS.

You do not see the difference eh? It's there. 👍👍

Logic over remarks, please!:yuck:

OT:
The ability to restrict to manual would only make sense if you see AT as being an advantage...
I see ABS as an advantage, but you don't gain any advantage from not using it and modulating the pedal yourself; if any, it's very marginal.

Why would you care whether other drivers are manual or auto?

I'm slower with AT than with MT, don't see the point in restricting this. If you want to use AT and be slower, be my guest.

I personally would love more restrictions on all points (ABS, hud, controller etc...) Why? I love how this game works. I love normal cars on comfort tyres, driving without hud in cockpit view using a g27 and using the h-shifter. Just beautifull. If you want to do this online, forget it, you don't stand a chance and, ok, I admit, I like to win sometimes :) So, it would be Nice if you could restrict this. It doesn't mean you have to, but I bet you'll find enough people who would like to drive in these rooms. More choice is (almost) always good.
