When i using dfp i must use a Gloves bec if without gloves and dfp leather thing dirty on my hands. with gloves it much better :) what do you use? or without?

i use a baseball gloves :)

no gloves but i am thinking in using my brother's real racing gloves for endurances only because of the looks and feel. my hands do not get dirty with my dfp

My hands don't get dirty either, the wheel is not leather, it's just rubber and it's not the kind that rubs off, if it does rub off there's something wrong with yours!

I've always used gloves with my DFP. I've got these "liner" type gloves that I use.. soft and fuzzy, but thin, so they're not particularly hot or sweaty or anything. But, fuzzy+rubber=out-frikkin'-standing grip. I got those gloves on, that wheel's goin' nowhere. In a way, they're perfect DFP racing gloves.. I mean, the whole purpose of "racing gloves" is the grip on the wheel.

yeah jedi, thats what i am gonna buy one at Autozone

shut the hell up can you read my sig? dummy

uncalled for dude...... & by the way it's just a game, are gloves really necessary? and there must be sumfin wrong with your dfp if the rubber is coming off.... mine is fine.

I managed to put a wooden steering wheel on my DFP. Driving barehands is great... but I'll with my DFP! :dopey:

I'd like to put a real wheel on mine. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to do it without gutting and re-building the whole wheel assembly. I took my DFP apart a few days ago and found it's a bit of a tricky setup. The wheel can be removed from the mounting plate and FFB motor but detaching the wheel itself seems impossible, there are metal tabs holding it in. If anyone has managed to remove the wheel completely and put a different one on I'll commend them! Werner Winkels I'm looking in your direction.

I take mine off all the time, it gets loose and I keep having to smoothen out the mounting surface because of that. Those aren't tabs, They're just phillips head screws, and as long as you've got the face plate put together someplace you can reach it there's no prob with changing it. I thought about it but then I realized I just didn't care that much to actually do it.

Oh, yeah. Only in GT4 do I use gloves. I use my old BMX racing gloves.

I think there's enough grip without gloves. Besides my girlfriend already says I'm crazy and childish because I play GT with DFP. I wonder what she'd say if I was driving with shoes and gloves on... So no gloves, shoes nor helmet here.

No gloves, never used them actually. I think if the rubber rubs off, you sweat a lot

sweat a lot? i dont think so

i think i driving in hard holding like a racing drive so i got a racing gloves and it helps a loooooooooooooots! to be honestly

I don't use gloves. Sometimes my hands sweat a little. I think if I use gloves they will sweat a lot more. By the way, it may not be dirt or rubber coming off your wheel, but actually... sweat! :)

i've used gloves in the past with my DFP but more often than not, i drive barehanded. i MUST drive w/ socks on though, or slippers cause the pedal design needs the pedal to slip on your feet to press correctly. (at lease in the pedal angle i use).

My hand got blistered when using the wheel, I started using one of my workout gloves and its great. I get a better grip on the wheel and no blisters... exactly like using it at the gym.

How the hell did you manage to get the wheel off? There are wires going through it all the way over the rack & pinion and into the chip, you'd have to remove everything inside that's in the way and unplug it as well, then to put on a different wheel you'd need to get the buttons connected up into it somehow.

The metal tabs I was talking about are the ones holding the wheel itself in (the greased circular bit that rotates around inside the main big gear, not the gear itself).

Yeah, workout gloves (no fingers) help to prevent blisters. But they sweat, too (at least mine, that are neoprene)

when i get my wheel im gunna where my biking gloves because thats what i did at my friends house and it stopped my hands aching

I managed to remove the wiring by removing each wire from one of the white squary plugs and letting them going thru the hole of the shaft. It was easier than I tought...
