I'm wondering of there's a correlation between acceptance/non acceptance of GT5s flaws. So I'm trying a poll for the first time.

Before the results are in I'll express my pre formed opinion that the younger players accept GT5 for waht it is a lot better than older gamers. Be interesting to see if the poll supports that assumption. For my point of view i think that as I've got older i've grown less accepting of things in life in general, not just gaming. I'm turning 40 soon and already a grumpy old fart!

Yea iv come to accept them. I'm 18 in about a month.

I think of it this way:
Guys its a game it won't be perfect. Sure it took a long time to develope and some cars look a little meh and others like pure sex but you can only ask for so much.

In my opinion if the graphics resembled that of night rider~nintendo (yes that grey brick that looks like a single slot sideways toaster) but had the same physics as gt5 I would still play it every day.

PD you made a well rounded game and did what you could and thought best. Thank you.

+1 in the soon-to-be-40 alley :)

I think that after years of disappointments in real life and realizing that we cannot change the world has made us a lot more tolerant to almost anything.

I don't like them, but I only accept them because we can't do anything about. In my book, not accepting them would mean not playing the game at all. At seems most people are anyways.

I'm 15 BTW.

But I've gone the other way!! I'm less tolerant than I was as a young'un. I make Victor Meldrew look like Ned Flanders!!

and if you don't know who victor meldrew is....."I don't believe it";) (one for the brits methinks!) (for non brits just search that name and "one foot in the grave")

At 45 , I find it hard to muster the energy to get annoyed at something I cant change (GT5 ) and yet I find it tedious seeing the constant stream of complaints about the game. Make what you will of that....

I don't care too much about game flaws as long as the physics engine is good. I do care about the content of the game though (events, tracks cars...) but i don't think that missing tracks or cars can be considered as flaws..

(20-30 btw)

Wow, thanks for making me feel all my 42 years!!! ;) hehe

Oh, and for robbo6:

Games are games, they always have flaws and glitches. Therefore I accept them here just as anywhere else. Game on! 👍

I'm 13 and I slowly came to accept them. As other people said on this thread, nothing has no flaws.

I'm 30 and accept the flaws, to a point. I have voted not satisfied though.

I enjoy the game very much, don't get me wrong. The thing is, why would they take steps backwards?

GT2 could have been pumped up and remade for the PS3 and it would have been amazing. And where are the rest of the cars, functions and events structure from GT4? And what about the GT Design cars frm GTPrologue?

It makes my head ache trying to understand. Its like I was starving for years and someone tossed me a bit of dry bread and i'm pretending its a roast dinner.

I'm 15, and although I've accepted many of the flaws, there are still many common-sense errors which simply should not have happened.

Like the lack of leaderboards, not being able to view painted cars, etc :irked:

Interesting results so far in the poll. I have another poll in mind as well to test another theory I have.

Just trying to figure out how and why I have gone from literally a GT fanboy to where I am now.

Oh, and for robbo6:

GREAT find!! ;) 👍

31 - grown up with GT since the word go, I know the flaws are there but the overall gameplay is good enough for me

I know the flaws, but i dont think they break the game. Since iam driving online nearly every day for a couple of hours, i think you can count me in on "yes 20-30".

I know its not the best game ever, probably all the other GT Games in the series were better at their given time and even the competition on the other console might be better in many ways, but there is one thing, no other racing game on console got the physics nailed as good as PD did. The driving is superb and the online racing is pure fun, especially if you are driving more then just the typical 1lap races on soft racing tyres arround the Nordschleife.

I was driving a 30lap Race (450pp roadcars) on Monza last night and it was awesome. Pit-strategy, tyre-wear and damage made for some very entertaining situations. Gambling wether the tyres are good enough for another lap, hoping for the competitors to make a mistake and stop early, or switching to harder tyres to have a longer second run. All of this would only be half the fun without the awesome driving engine and the fear of the weather changing.

Define "accept flaws". Do you mean "acknowledge that they exist", or "enjoy the game a whole bunch anyway"?

I know they're there, and a lot of them have taken a huge amount of enjoyment out of the game for me.

Judging by the results of this poll so far, it seems the majority of people who accept the flaws are just playing the game. The ones who complain, live here it seems.

I am curious however to see how the PC players tie into this poll.

I am 22 on Tuesday, and I voted yes to acceptance. Its a game after all, but also because they are working on it so GT5 as it stands is not close to the finished GT5 article.

Also, I'm grateful that the game came out years later than expected but not up to full standard. Either side of this you have either a ridiculous wait (PS4 would have come first) or MAJOR flaws (not in a sense of "I can't save mid race", but "I have all 4 premium cars but can't tell which is which since they were created using just 1 polygon... but the 4 bit engine sound is ok at least").

I see the flaws as well, but there are just so many things to like about this game.

Online racing puts this GT above the others, in my opinion, and allows me to look past some of the flaws. It's not perfect, but getting involved in a race with 15 other people who know how to race clean and hard is an experience that almost transcends videogames.

I am 18 and no, I do not accept them.

There are so many issues in this game and a lot of them are just plain ridiculous and unacceptable.

I'm 60 years old and honestly,I am more concerned about have a "regular" crap than if Gran Turismo is flawed...I still love the game.....

I'm 16 and accept most of GT5's flaws (so voted yes). The one I don't accept is the lack of Endurance and In Championship saves. This means I can't complete endurance events because I don't have the time and I don't really want to leave my PS3 running for days on end.

Over 50 and feel the same way.
