Somehow, I get the feeling we'll be seeing some "Banned" smilies here. :D

Oh, and to answer the question: I have no idea, I don't really
look at the GT4 stuff. I do remember seeing pictures of a Levin in one the screenshots but I could be wrong. I'll be playing it anyways, that is if it gets released before I die or something. :)
 
Whats with everyone trying to mix GT4 with Initial D lately, people have suddenley started coming here and saying things like is the Hirioku Mashumito Banzai in GT4, NO IT'S NOT, the Toyota Ae86 levin is.
 
Am I the only one who thinks the cars a piece of crap?
 
Wtf is an AE86? Those old POS cars from GT2??

The reason people are coming in mixing Gran Turismo and Initial D is because Initial D is very popular.. they even had the special AE86 in GT3. People into cars and drifting, usually play GT games, and a good handful of them are Initial D fans as well.. make more sense now? :)
 
But they are both very different games, other than both having car and tracks what do they have to do with each other?
 
Initial D isn't just a game.. it's an awesome anime/manga from Japan as well. And most of my cars in the GT games are setup for drifting.. that's what they have in common.. the only sad thing is, no downhill courses for normal roads. :(
 
So the AE86 is that Sprinter Trueno/Levin thing then? I still never got a complete answer to my question.

Also who or what is Hachi Roku?
 
hachi roku is japnese for the number 86
hachi = 8
roku = 6
hachi roku meaning 86, meaning AE86, meanin toyota sprinter/corolla

That's because to YOU it's just a fad. Whereas to many others it's a big part of their life. There's guys that do this 5 times a week dumping tons of money into their cars. I personally have been of fan of drifting for 3 years. By the end of summer I'll be competing all over the east coast. For me, this isn't a fad.

Actually not. Hachi-roku is Japanese for the numbers eight and six. Eighty-six is hachijuroku.

Hachi-roku means 8-6, hence Toyota A-E-8-6.
 
The reason why Japanese call AE86 for " Hachi roku" is
just because it is easy to say. Yes, eighty-six is hachijuroku.
But hachiroku is easier to say than hachijyuuroku.

Sprinter Tureno/Corolla Levin has old history.

TE27(1971),TE37&TE51&TE55(1974) ,AE85& AE86(1983),
AE92(1987) ,AE101(1991) ,AE111(1997)


Many of Japanese and Americans who like Initial D are
overestimating AE86. AE86 is not so fast car like GT-R and RX-7.

But it is true that this car is fun to drive. Engine is very
higl responsible, sound is good and nice handling.

I do however remember seeing two AE86 (not completely stock, no) beating a R34 GTR (think it was stock) on track.. Just something i felt that i needed to toss in here.

86's are good cars for very tight + turny tracks. But on the straights.......they get passed.

Oh, and drifting cannot be a fad, because oversteer isn't going to stop happening, just because you don't like it. Oversteer is part of racing, drifting or not.
 
I have to say that the trueno is pretty slow. MY god it seems slower that a stock civic. I didnt post this because of initial d. not just because I put something with AE86 or trueno everyone assumes it. I personally drove the car and it's a well ballance car. It feels like it's meant for drifting and you can turn car on the fly with a good suspension that is.

Yes, the Trueno does seem to be a pretty decent car....just needs some more horses.
 
I hope I havn't got on the wrong side of anyone, I'm not bashing drifting or Initial D or the people that like either, but I don't see why people come here have started talking about cars using the Initial D names ect.

And Bazz I think I've seen the same video, the car that won looked alot like the Shigeno version from GT3 and I think the R34 came second.

Also.. it's pronounced eight six, not eighty-six. :)
