Itos and myself ran some laps last night at the 601hp on both RSs and RMs. we were getting about 5-6 laps on softs and 8-9 laps on medium. I think we were about 4-5 seconds slower on medium ( maybe it was less than that) but over a 30 lap race that's 6 stops on softs and probably 3-4 stops on mediums. It could be interesting to let people chose their own tires and strategy.

We're only running 18 plus a pace. Keeping it under 45 mins. But good work in the tire test.

As soon as you run open tires your going to get guys running mediums up front and softs in the back. Dumb. Either or. Not open.

Let's apply some logic to this discussion. If you have a ping test result of 50ms and your jitter is 10 this says your results varied by 10ms. In other words your ping test was between 45ms and 55ms. On the other hand you have a ping test result of 80ms yet your jitter was 1, this implies that your ping varied from 79ms to 81ms.

so is the jitter alway divided in half, or if you had 50ms ping with 10 jitter could it be 60ms or 40ms?

Ok I'm showing my ignorance here, but why would you run different sets front and rear?

Medium fronts last longer. As fronts usually wear first, mediums will even out the tire wear if the rears are soft. Soft rears of course for better acceleration/grip out of turns.

the jitter is your total variation. It may not be divided in half but it is your total swing between best and worst.

Actually my original post had a flaw. The higher speed example would have only varied by 1ms. So 80 to 81 or 79 not 79 to 81.

My spots open for the Viper race.

I've been traveling for the past 2 days, just went by Daytona International Speedway. Just read the thread for the first time since Thur. nite. Glad to see everyone's still getting along so well.

Nice run @DRC Bo. Lost control in your draft and that was that. I figured you were gonna pit once, so it was just cruising and playing it safe afterwards. Looked like a good chase of RR from Jess as you guys sped by.

Hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas and that Santa gives you a fast setup for your Viper :)

We miss you too buddy. I hope your having a prosperous holiday season

I'm gonna be on around 12:30 eastern for some tire testing check out my lounge or JT's

Ok tire wear is terrible here. I can run barely 5 laps on softs but have nothing at all left. I can run 7 laps on mediums with nothing left. So in the interest of keeping this race fun for everyone; we are going to run mediums and cut the race laps to 15 with 1 pace lap. That should keep everyone in the same pit window with 2 stops

As you can see mics. on causes spikes in bandwitdh consistent with eratic patterns of lag.

I think bandwitdh spikes caused by mics. in conjuction with bad PD network coding for groups of cars over 12 is the cause of lag.

Helping to clear things up at DRC was the use of Open Lobby Fixed Host as the connection relies on the host and any lag by any member should only cause that member to have issues.

At any rate RR, DJ and I will work all this out and any of the complainers can call me out and blame me directly for the issues or go race somewhere else.

It's all your fault. Blah blah blah complain complain!

So are we gonna go micless from here on out?

That's some funny stuff cB. I know how much you love this track. Just save a few for us for after the race.
