Nice pics man. I was supposed to go but seeing as it rained hard Friday night and they were practicing in the wet... I didn't want to drive 3hours there just to deal with mod and wet grass for a few hours.

Great pics, thanks for sharing (and if you have more, share again)! 👍

@ cuco33 Why the FC Porto avatar, are you portuguese?

TONS of great pictures coming soon. Day recap as well. Its was not the best race I have seen there but it was pretty good.

Nothing will beat the Vette catching the Aston Martin at almost a second a lap, only to catch it on the last lap and the straight, neck and neck, and the Aston just erked out a win but less than the length of the front splitter. I think it was the closest finish in ALMS history.

Also if anyone saw a guy with a Final Gear shirt with The Stig on the back, that was me.

Not only Portuguese but a die hard Porto fan :)

Actually I was born in Newark, NJ but I 'came in the oven'.
'Made in Portugal, born in the land of opportunity (USA)' so to speak

The race replay is now up on the ALMS website if anyone missed it live.

I haven't checked yet but ESPN3.com has the replay of the whole race. I know my ESPN app on XBOX360 had qualifiers, practice and it showed that the whole ALMS race was supposed to air. Should still be there for me to watch over the week. I'd check ESPN3.com but it's blocked at work

Thanks guys, glad you like the pictures. I'll post a few more when I get out of work.
My first time at lime rock or an ALMS event and I've got to say it was incredible. I never thought they would let you get that close to the cars.

iv'e only ever been to the F1, hoping to go to the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup 6 hour race at Silverstone in a couple months to get a more close up taste for endurance racing.

I wish I would have gone there. I forgot the race was this weekend until I saw the highlights on SPEED on Sunday at 7:00.

I don't even recall them advertising the race at all, either.

I have a few shots from last year's ALMS at Lime Rock. Sadly my Nikon DSLR battery died right as the day's biggest crash happened in front of me, at that sweeping turn after the straight. Really was prepped for this year with 2 batteries fully charged. Rain kind of put a kink on plans though. It seems that the even with the rain the track itself was fine for spectators to walk around.
