Blaze had built up a 50 second lead for me. Went to make the pit stop and driver swap. Ran into a glitch where the FFB pulls HARD to the left. Makes braking completely impossible and I stuff it into the wall leaving me with no front wheels and no way back to the pit.
Would have been an EASY win.

I checked out the live view and was wondering what happened? You had the fastest lap by a lot.
 
Shut up preggo cow. At least I have a PC capable enough to run rFactor.
 
Do you have to mess with all the settings in iracing like you have to do in rfactor? Specifically the settings to set up the ffb on a wheel.

Yes, if not more so.
But you can just download the files and then go ahead and run. So you wouldn't have to do anything.
I had two plug ins for FFB installed during the race. Blaze only had one of those plug ins. That is what caused the problem.

That sucks Gatrs. I hate glitches that ruin a race. Better luck next time.

Rotten luck. I think we've almost all had a wheel break. But, not during a four hour endurance race. :(

It didn't break, it's just that the game glitched due to us having some different files. Causing the wheel to effectively uncalibrate itself.

I apologise for not saying anything about not racing this last Friday. I got a last minute invite from a friend to watch qualifying at the O'Reily Auto Parts "NHRA" Northwest Nationals. I have never been to a drag race and it was the most fun I've had in a long time. I was sitting at the about the fastest part of the track. Right where they shake the bleachers real hard and are doing 300mph or more. Fastest on Friday , was 319mph.
Don't get me wrong, cause racing with you all is fun and would have wanted to race, but watching the "NHRA" was the ultimate. :)
Hope to still be able to race here. :)
 
Well its official now, my PS3 is sold and will be Texas bound. Cant believe gamestop wanted 80 bux for the PS3, DS3 and 3 games, i just sold it on ebay for 222.50. Im gonna miss it, but the cash is more enticing to me at this point. I suppose my time on GT5 is done, its been a great game and this series made it fun for me. Ill still be trol... lurking around the thread from time to time though. Maybe theres a chance i can hop on before it ships out, but i dunno. :sly:

:lol: Have fun with iRacing (or is it rFactor you race in?) and hopefully you can spend the money on improving your rig/equipment/or whatever you want to use it for.

He does both. He was also a decently fun competitor, last season, though he was millions of times faster, apparently.

Hehe thanks, i think GT5 has been a great stepping stone towards a real simulation. The game was collecting dust until i decided to try an online series, im glad i chose this one you guys have made it fun and challenging. Hopefully ill see more of you on the other side as well.
 
I was like you though Kev. Bought the ps3 just for GT. And then we get what we have. Gotta admit, I was a little disappointed coming from the Forza world. But at the time I was already on my 4th xbox. đź‘Ž

I was thinking about selling mine also. But its been solid so far (fingers crossed). I've had my cats accidentally turn it on for days before and shes still strong. So I cant complain about the reliability. I might just keep it and pass it down down to my girls when the next gen system comes out. Although they love the wii now, so my next system might actually be the wii u.
 
Thats all I want really. I think the graphics are fine. Just need more content and more race ready / RM cars. I complain about the game a lot, but it's really not that far off from where I would like it.

Are they going to add all of the personal nouns? Wii u me us them they I he she him her? That'd be a pretty annoying name for a game console. :lol:


And, if I had a bigger budget, Kevin, I'd try iRacing.
 
Crap, the guy who bid for my PS3 wants to cancel because he just lost his job today lol. Guess ill be able to attend this Friday as the pace car again, is it the first race of the season?
 
I just loaded rFactor and installed the Enduracers mod. It runs smoothly. I am just having problems with braking as my controller for it doesn't have that great of analog range, even when I set it properly. I was running the #17 Falken Porsche '09 (GT2) around MoSport and got a 1:19.44. I want to adjust the brake strength on it, but it seems that I can't. I can say I had a blast with it! I also found and downloaded an R18 for it as well.

Is there a way to see your analog inputs for the throttle and brake? A mod or something in game I missed? An external ini file?

Back to GT5, I really hope to see GT6 become what GT4 was for the PS2. A much better upgrade for from GT3. I'm thinking of sticking with my 458, as I am the most comfortable driving it over the V12 Vantage. Don't get me wrong, the Vantage is fun, but I seem to struggle with it more than the 458.
 
They say the PS4 games may be 'cloud based'. If this is so, we may have games that you yourself could be a part of in making things. If you have played other racing games, you might be able to share your livery. Well, if it's cloud based, perhaps you could do the same thing with a car. If GT6 goes this direction and you're able to modify your car as a race car in some sort of way by modifying the body etc. you may be able to share that on a community for people to download. Just an assumption if GT6 does that.
