I'm at A Spec 25, B Spec 24 now. Not too excited about douing the endurance races and/or the Dream Car Champs in the rain. It's not so much driving on wet surfaces but not being able to see through the rain.

Actually, if you go a bit slower, the rain isn't that bad. Also, the AI are more tentative in the rain at certain points on the track and it's easier to stay out front in the rain than it is in the dry. The Dream Car Championship is one of my favorite events. Plus it pays a cool 3/4 million credits in what takes 1.25 hours. I've done it 3 times in 3 different cars and am about to fire it up again when I sign out of here :)

I'll be turning 51 next week. A spec 18 and B spec 24. I hate driving at night (RL) and hate driving in rain. The thing I hate most is driving at night in rain

So, it is blue skies and sunshine for me thankyouverymuch :) I guess I'll have to suffer through these night and rain races just to get over them.

What cars did you use? I'm thinking of using the 727B and the 88C race cars.

Great to find this thread, stops me wondering.

I've joined the Group.

I'm a 1946 babe, conceived on VE Day actually, now that must have been a party! So 64 (65 in 2.5 months for the specific among us) at level 26 A-Spec, haven't really started B-Spec yet, lol, that ol' one track mind that creeps up on us. Will have a look.

A GT3 start, been through 8 or 10 wheels, 3 before finding Logitech, 3 ps3's. Driven the grooves off the disks of every version of GT since, only game I play.

Use a G25 clamped to a light occaissional table, 50" LCD HD. Earphones usually, but have bluetooth talker.

Best so far was in GT4, 5.07 at The Ring, couldn't get near Dan Holland, we won't see those times again without qualifying tyres. Still my favorite track to drive, best so far this round is a 4.48 in a Minolta.

Prefer the racing versions of any car. F1 down, not a fan of the fantasy cars.

And yes I agree, older drivers are going to do well in the rain.

I'm 51, level 20A (19B), my wife is 40, level 12A (10B).

We used to have 2 360's and play Forza 2 online but gave up on Forza 3 because the online was rubbish.

I bought a PS3 and a G27 in anticipation of GT5 about 6 months ago and when the game was released Debs went out and bought another console/GT5 bundle.

TBH we are waiting for the save patch before we go online too much.

I am 36 here and been a GT fanatic since the first one way back in the 90s (seems like a long time ago!).

Unfortunately two days after getting GT5 I had to go on a business trip and had to pack light... no way to bring my PS3 and GT5... I have been gone for two weeks and I am jealously looking at everyone's progress and the awesome screenshots. I can't wait till Friday, when I get home and GT5 is mine again!

Great story, have fun.

Agree about the patch need, best to tune at home for the moment I guess, but for the rest I find online is ok, people are still working it out, and no credits or points while you are in there (a gyp I reckon). Online should be where we accrue experience points.... or lose them.

I'll look forward to seeing you out there.

Hate to break the news to you buddy, but I too am 62 (wasn't '48 a great year) :) and I'm at Level 29. I've done every event except the Formula Gran Turismo (missed it by 1.4 million the one time it showed up on the lot) and have finished the first 4 Endurance Events. Needless to say, they're all Golds :)

I don't know if you're retired like me, but since I am now a professional teenager, I just play a lot (it's not like I'm really good or anything) :)

To put it in perspective, I have over 70 Ferrari F2007's in my Prologue garage :)

Video posted more than a year ago when there was like only 68 I think .....

And now for a quote from you on that video...

Actually, I haven't played Prologue in 5 months due to connection issues. I finished NFS Shift (Level 50) in 5 days. Started DIRT 2 on launch day and was 3rd in the world in XP points by day 5. Ran it up to level 88 and then started the game over on a different account and ran it up to level 88 again. Set some world records on the leaderboard along the way so I've actually been quite busy. Also picked up GT for the PSP and have been cranking away at that also. You can see videos of it all :-)

Are you god?!?!? :scared::dopey:

I'm 62. Any other older >60 yr. old guys playing at this level? A Spec = 24 B Spec =23
Respect to you for that mate! And also very well done for making 23 at B-spec so far! I'm 45 years younger than you and I'm A-spec = 17 and B-spec = about 4 or 5.

63 in 3 months. Still ride a superbike and game on PC. Turned the 3rd bedroom into a flight and driving simulator setup. Bought a PS3 just for GT5 which is great with the G25 wheel and pedals. On level 19 so far. Your bits grow older but your brain does`nt if you make it keep up with modern life and technology and my grandkids love me for it as they dont think me old fashioned.

How true! My reflexes are a step behind what my mind is telling me to do. And every young(er) person I meet thinks it's cool that I play videogames but they aren't that thrilled when I beat them! LOL

when I was playing World of Warcraft, I met lotsa senior players ( 50-70 years old ), I stopped already and might be play again when US connection to South East Asia improved.

Btw, I'm 34 years old from Malaysia

I wish my surviving grandparents were like you guys! Well, if my grandad (born 1948) was alive, we'd be competing for laptimes around the 'ring!

Btw: I'm at lvl.32 on a-spec, only started b-spec this month so at lvl.8

GTP_BigDaddy is 64 and always speaks in the third person. You won't see him slouched over the steering wheel wearing an old blue ball cap.

53 years old here partially disabled first time playing any GT game. reached A-spec level 40, 3 months ago and B-spec level 40 yesterday comlpeted all enduro's including several 24hr races. Wife bought me a PS3 for my 52nd birthday and now wishes she did'nt LOL

Not quite at your age, yet ;) but at 44 years old I'm level 40 A & B spec and 7 car s short of all cars in the game.

Keep it up guys 👍

You sound pretty cool, keep it up (Y)

I've got a father who's in his late 30s and thinks video games are childish but I'm surprised that people your age play games.

Thanks

60.5 here and level 40 in March....I'm a hard core mountain biker and I've run into some seriously fit and active 70+ people, age is only partially the calendar..the rest tends to be in your head...yes I'm 22 on the inside, quite a shock using the mirror :D
btw, I raced motocross(expert level amateur) till I was 50 and only quit due to injury, most folks will tell you even 30 is too old to race, but there's a reason we have age classes all the way to 60...:D
