if well implemented this could be a motivating factor for some weight loss. :D
 
For magazine tests and SAE standards in the US, curb weight is 3/4 tank (pretty sure, it's not quite full tank) of gas and all fluids...no driver.

Trying to interject some actual game discussion amongst the complaints/suggestions threads...

Ever since the ballast option has been added, I've been adding my actual body weight to every car, since the weight in game doesn't take in to account a driver.

Anyone else do this, or any other little things to make the game their own?

It certainly makes it a Real Driving Experience that way.
(Doesnt help that im 6'7 & 120 kilos though lol

I think for the modern cars of production year 1995 and forward there is an agreement to compute the weight of the car plus 70kgs to include driver's average weight. If I am not mistaken.

That would sound about right. I've been adding my weight to all vehicles, including online, since last year. It just makes sense if your really trying to simulate.
 
The "road laws + cops" online rooms should add 80 kg to the back of the gangster cars to simulate the weight of a dead body in the trunk ;)

Btw, the driver avatars seems to be rather slim, so I wonder what their actual weight would be. Less than 60 kg?
 
I'll add my weight to the car when PD lets me corner-weight the car and move the ballast from side to side. :) One of the joys I found in autocrossing was car set-up - rules for my class said the car had to weight 1600 lbs, so after I got the car lightened as much as I reasonably could without acid-dipping the chassis, I got to add ballast where I wanted to, to offset my weight.
