Some random nature photos and the like - just a (very) amateur photographer using a smartphone camera! Would appreciate feedback if you have any to offer. :)

Was at the final BTCC meeting of the year a couple of weekends ago and with all the major titles done after the second race, the drivers then treated us to one of the best races I have ever been lucky enough to see in race 3. I also got a few pics I'm quite happy with :)...

With the A7 ii on sale ($998 instead of the usual $1600), I was thinking about selling my A6000 and collection of lenses (all about ~$1300) to get the A7 ii and a prime lens for it. Good idea?

@hirnsauger69 @tbtstt Great photos guys! What lenses are you fellas using? I'm looking at a 70-200 L lens F4 to use on a cropped frame for trackdays. You guys reckon 300mm is enough reach?

Thanks

In most cases 300 mm are enough. But sometimes you need more reach and so I am happy to have 450 mm.
The 70-200 L F4 is a great lense. 👍

Canon EOS 80D

Awesome car and a great shot!

I use a 55-250mm: have wanted a 100-400 for some time, but I just don't have the cash for one! 250 is generally OK, but there are frequently times when a bit more range would be useful.

Few shots from the last round of the British Rallycross Championship at Silverstone:

Not a great track, but it was the chance to see a bit more motorsport before the off season arrives, so definitely worth the journey!

Great images!

I settled on the 70-200mm L lense. I got it for €300, so I guess for an L-lens I shouldn't complain. Since it's for autosport, maybe I don't really need IS either, so I'm curious to see if I'm going to like it! 👍

I'd say that's a good price for an L lens. I was told several years ago that you get better results (especially when panning) with IS turned off, so I tried turning it off and have never turned it back on again!

Oh, and in case you wonder what my setting has been:
