The Mk.3 (white) Escort behind the Volvo had an issue and lost the right front wheel, which you can see leaving the scene in the photo.

With the handling rather compromised, the Mk.3 Escort collected the red Mk.2 Escort and they both ended up in the gravel. No major damage done though: both cars were back out for the next qualifying heat 90 minutes later!

First time ever shooting a WEC event. From having to wait five and a half hours for a tabard (I kid you not) to producing some of my best images yet. What an amazing day it was.
And yes, that Aston Martin screams like nothing else.

Frustrating, but worth the wait! I think prototypes are awesome in pretty much every form and the current crop of Hypercars are some of the best (in my opinion). Some fantastic shots there, but the first picture of the 963 is definitely my favorite.

I was at Brands Hatch last weekend for the opening GT World Challenge Sprint round. Tried a few new spots... but none of them worked, so I ended up back at the usual places! :lol:

Said it before, but I just can't get enough of GT3. Such a great variety of cars (and sounds) on track.

Oh definitely! Though, I was that close to packing up and going home. Right when I wanted to get up and let the FIA people know, the kind lady from the front sent me an E-Mail saying "You can now come and pick up a tabard" :lol:
These Hypercars are such amazing pieces of kit. The sounds, the speeds and the looks all speak for themselves. And thanks for your kind words, it's definitely up there for me with the picture of the 499P approacing the bus stop chicane I posted as well.

It was actually the opposite for me last weekend at Spa during the GT Open event. I've been to a couple of spots I've already been to: the exit of the Bus Stop, the Kemmel kink and on the outside of Les Combs. The new spots were the outside of the corners Malmedy and Rivage. Well you did well to hang on that long. I did a track event a few years ago and I waited just over two hours to sign on, and I was seconds away from snapping and going home then! :lol: WEC might make me wait a bit longer... but even with the appeal of Hypercars I don't think I'd have that much patience!

I find any day where I get pictures of the cars I like satisfying, but I enjoy it even more when you manage to find a new spot or a different angle and make it work.

Fantastic mix of old and new, rally and rallycross. Several drivers were (understandably) not pushing too hard, but a lot of them were giving their cars a proper work out!

Lot of memories attached to this era of racing, although I am not sure how sustainable the event is. A lot of the Super Touring cars seem very highly strung and are obviously tricky (and expensive) to run. Very glad of the drivers who did bring their cars and drive them hard though.
 
Got a brand new RF 200-800 to go with my R6 mk2 and must admit it’s a joy to use, took it out the other day in less than ideal light as I was curious how the images would turn out , I gotta say the low light performance of the camera is impressive indeed, having a high ISO isn’t the dealbreaker it used to be with these new cameras and the lens was amazing with it, lightning fast autofocus and never lost a lock on even when the light was particularly dodgy, looking forward to spending a lot of time with the combo 👌

So today was a pretty special day for a absolute bird fanatic as me and the wife spent a couple of hours in a hide near a Osprey nest here in north Wales, first time ever seeing these unbelievable birds and with their offspring too was humbling, just the most amazing experience..
Using the RF200-800 and constantly at 800mm due to the safety distance from the nest in less than ideal light it performed pretty flawlessly and it continues to impress me every time I use , obviously the pictures aren’t pin sharp and I would never expect them to be given the distance to the nest and poor light they are more than acceptable for what 99% of the users here will take pictures of for, and that’s to show their friends on FB.
Anyways, here are the Osprey pics, one of the best days birding I’ve ever had ❤️

Lovely set Bosozoku! I have a bit of a thing for the Typhoon so love those shots, but I think the Red Arrow images are my favourite of the lot.

This is my favorite shot. LOOK AT THE PROPELLER WASH!







Photographed some local wildlife, haven't had time to shoot in a while as evident by the first two shots being at ISO 12,800 lol Had auto ISO on for some reason and I was on the wrong profile where the upper limit of the ISO wasn't locked either.


Nikon Z8 with 200-500mm f/5.6E shot at 500mm from a distance of five feet.

Racing was quite good, though a lot of safety car periods. Was enough to satisfy my GT3 (and GT4) itch for a few months though!
 
I'm finally back at the track, this time for the 992 Endurance Cup race at Spa.
Decided to rent a Sony FE 2.8 70-200 GM II for the day, and my god: it's such a hack.
