Cadillac's Cien is probably the only Cadillac in the game. Since the new changes in styling I've REALLY never been a Caddy fan. Only modern Cadillac I like is that Northstar LMP racer. The CTS-V would have been nice, especially its racing variant from Speed GT. Other than that, are you satisfied with the American concent in GT4?

While the amount of American cars is up from GT3 by a lot it is still not as good as it was in GT2.

In GT2 they had more regular everyday American cars and more muscle cars.

This is the only reason I am disappointed. If I wasn't able to drive all those American cars in GT2 I wouldn't care, but I'm always hoping the choice will be the same as it was on GT2. Mainly for the Mopar muscle. That has always been my favorite.

Looks like the Grand Sport is in after all. I'm happy 👍

people make G machines out of their muscle anyway. Tuning opens a world of possibilities. Like you said, apply big sticky tires, a sorted suspension, good consistent brakes, and a weight loss regimen and you have a track monster (and you get to keep the V8 rumble!). Ever hear of Trans am?

^Indeed American cars can turn corners quickly. Late 1960's, early 1970's Trans Am series was killer, closely contested racing with some of the top drivers in the world (Sam Posey, Mark Donohue, Peter Revson) aboard some extreme machines including AMC Javelins, Ford Mustangs, Chevrolet Camaros, Mercury Cougars, Dodge Challengers.

Any Cougar fans?

What I like the most are the SUV's and Pick-Up trucks. That Dodge Ram or F-150 Lightning is going to be one of the first cars i'm gonna drive in the game. Maybe in GT5 they put even more 4wd in it. Also some european or the Bowler Wildcat :)

there was a Bowler Wildcat series in TOCA 2. too bad the off road physics were bizarre.

I've never driven an 8-horse stagecoach team, but the Bowler Wildcat series in TOCA 2 is what I would imagine it feeling like.

Oh very cool the GS and ZR-1 both made it in, Still unbelievable that theres no firebirds, but I'm pretty happy overall, One thing I hope is that I can finally Turbo/Supercharge any car I want instead of just Certain Cars I thought that was a real downside to the GT Series, and A Buick GSX would've been a Fabulous Add.

I wish they had C6 in there. Or the 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT.

i had hoped for more historical american cars... not only almost the top 10 car brands... many different cars that would have been nice in the game.... and very disapointed that many of the cars on the fake car list not are in the game... as the 63 chevrolet corvair....

Yea the boss stangs shoulda been in there too...

I just can't get over how many evo's/skylines/nsx's there are in GT4. Hell take out those, and this whopping 700+ car's drops quite a bit...

I'd still love to see more 80's mopar's in the used cars section, I'd love to put a Shelby Dodge Daytona on Laguna Seca or the Nurb.

there are 3 different fiat 500.... but only one old beetle.... why??? no old mustangs... only shelby`s... no amcar form the 50 beside the corvette... had been better whit the fake list... but my opinion... and sorry for the bad english.... not so steady on it...

I hear ya man... All I asked for was a Shelby GT500 (350 woulda done too) and a Boss 429 (302 woulda done too). I don't see how they coulda left out one of those two...

The fake list would've been awsome, I havent thouroughly looked over it but it seemed fairly balanced, I dont think it had any Buick's though (that was a nice add on PD's part) the GSX would've been fantastic though as would a 69 Judge

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Edit:
Tan there is a GT350 (doesnt look like one though..) and supposibly a Boss 429 but I havent seen any pics of it, its on the car list though

I totally overlooked the Shelby list... Thanks :)

Kinigitt, sir, if any sort of race car should be highly represented for American cars, let it be the Trans-Am machines. It gets no better than this for America. Widebodied cars. High horsepower motors. Okay, they may not look like any bigtime production-based racers like with the ALMS and Rolex Sports Cars, but these are some of the coolest machines to date. It's also the oldest road racing series in America, I hear.

I like the newer machinery, but I'd sure want to race vintage American muscle. Like if you look at the Monterrey Historics, there's a class that features 1960s and early 1070s muscle. For American car lovers, these were mean machines. I'd love to see such machines in there. But if you can't do that, then at least let's look into modding them up to be as close as possible to the old Trans-Am days.

I'll end with a little "Did You Know." DID YOU KNOW... ...that today's Trans-Am machines are actually much lighter than Nextel Cup race cars. A Nextel Cup car weighs about 3,400 lbs, while a modern Trans-Am race car weighs about 2,600 or 2,700 lbs. So they are actually pretty light race cars.

Oh and by the way... I LOVE that V8 roar from these machines. Only thing better is the Australian V8 Supercars, but I'm really torn between which V8 series has better engine roars.

But this thread is on American cars, so keep the Detroit Iron talk coming!

Indeed its perplexing thats there isnt any sight of a Trans AM or at the minimum a Formula, they could've easilly put in one of the awsome Anniversery editions (my favorite is the 25th with the single white stripe comming from the firebird)

I really hope this issue is resolved soon, Putting Pontiac and Buick in is a pretty significant leap I'll give them that, the Import to Domestic Levels need to SERIOUSLY be balanced, a 1998 or above WS6 would've been one of the better adds, Especially the 30th anniversery OR the Indy Version both very fast, and very stylish.

I love the WS6 hoods, they look like they should eat your soul.

This is the first thread I've started with 500 posts or more. Thanks for continuing this discussion guys and gals.

But yeah, I'm a big F-Body fan, and I seen the Camaro as a GT1 racer. Not in the sense of the Lotus Elise GT1 or anything, but something insanely powerful. Funny thing is... the motorsport is known as Trans-Am, and I cannot recall a Trans-Am especially in the 1990s! Only Pontiac I could remember was (ready?) a Grand-Am! And I thought Pontiac was in the game? I remembered seeing the old GTO, the Vibe, and stuff like that. Of course, that was back when we only knew about New York, Tsukuba, and Grand Canyon.

Even if they didn't take the time to include specific vintage trans am cars (they're probably rusting away in museums now), it would be cool to have race modifications to make them look like the famous trans am racers of the 60s and 70s.

And somebody mentioned 80s mopar, and I agree. Omni GLHS, Dodge Daytona, Shelby Charger....yummy.

Being an American auto enthusiast I hope that the American release is more American oriented in it's car selection. So far I'm very dissapointed too. If GT4 was meant to be a historical picture of the automotive industry and the cars they produced, then GT4 has failed to fullfill this goal.

There are over 100 possible cars to pick from out of the "Muscle Car Era" from the years 1964 to 1972. Instead of a full roster of muscle cars, GT4 apparently supplies you with dozens and dozens of Lancers, Skylines, NSX's, and Supra's. Is it just me, or does everyone else believe that if you've driven one Lancer, you've driven them all?

Forget about the lack of American cars for a moment, and ask, where are all the pre and post WWll Formula 1 cars? Indy cars? Can Am cars? And no Ferraris? How can you say the game represents car history without Ferraris and Porsche? Okay, so they can't secure a deal to have them included, but would this apply to famous racing cars like the 917 Porsche? Wouldn't it be worth altering the paint schemes or whatever to allow them in the game? It appears they have done so with the F1 cars, why not others?

i hope that the usa release will include more amcars and european cars but thats alot to hope for i think....

This will not happen for sure. I was too very disappointed about the american car lineup and the European one too. Altough they are way better than GT3 was, they are still underwhelming. I think PD needs to hire car history specialists to counsel them about the US an Euro cars they should include to correctly represent it versus Japanese cars. And to hell all of those who say "What do you expect from a Japanese developer, it's normal" IT IS NOT. Sorry, but Forza, altough produced in USA by American people, is balanced and not biased towards Ford, Chrysler and GM as is PD with Nissan, Toyota and Honda. 3 Fiat 500 WTF? Include more M5 gens, more Marcos, mor Benzos, etc. We have Japanese cars that just came out of the factory but no

-Firebirds
-C6 Corvette
-Chrysler 300C and C-300 1955
-Cavalier (Not worse than a Civic)
-CTS-V
-XLR
-SVT Focus
-Saturn Ion Red line

Plus many Japanese USDM cars like:

-Sentra SE-R Spec-V
-Mazdaspeed Miata
-Mazdaspeed Protégé etc

So the bottom line is: They don't care about something else than their locals.

Actually, there is an SVT Focus in the game. Overseas its called the Focus ST170, and that is what is in the game. It has the same 2.0-liter 170hp engine, styling, wheels, gear ratios etc. as the SVT, just under a different name (I think . )

yes, that's right. They have 2 versions of the focus: the RS and the ST170

The ST170 is the EU spec focus, the wheelbase is a bit shorter and the suspension/ride setup is also different from the SVT one. Oh and it's also not built in, wherever the US spec focus is built.

Does the ST170 use the same 6 speed transmission as the SVT?

Pontiac is definatly in there, And Trans Ams we're DEFINATLY in the 90's, one of my Favorites is the 94 25th anniversery edition

http://transam.html.webpark.pl/ta94.jpg

its a very beautiful car. Anyway, the Pontiac lineup could've been ALOT stronger then it currently is, adding the 6.0L 64 GTO is nice, But it missing a Firebird is pretty bad even a GTP Grand Prix would've been kinda cool, All I can hope for is that Pontiac (and fords mustang lineup especially) it delt with in the way it needs to be, especially the Dodge and Plymouth lineup.
