Mr. McShake
even better, but we know that the SS and Z/28 are in.

it would be nice if the looked different too besides just the badges.

What engine did the 69 SS have? 396?

I just want to see some nice american muscle cars. Not even modern. I want muscle. A nice '69 Chevy Corvette ZL-1 would suit me just fine.:) Only 2 ZL-1s were made. Costing $10,000.... In 1969!

Isn't it a 454?

Isn't it a 454?

the nova and chevelle ss models had 454s at some point in time. I'm not so sure about the camaro.

the SS could have three engines the 350, the 396, or the 396 with aluminum heads which was the best set at 375 hp and 415 ft-lbs.

and no it did not have the 454. the only muscle car to have that was the '70 SS Chevelle. which is also in the game.

the only nova's to have the 454 were specially made ones like Yenko's. no factory Nova's had 454's in them.

'70 nova SS had the 454 as an option.

or was it the '71...

No matter how many Lancers and Skylines and such GT4 will have, you can't help but admire PD putting in more American cars. While I'm not really educated or not really dedicated to American cars, I'd sure love to race an American machine whether it's an SRT-4 Neon all the way up to the Panoz Esperante GT1. You got that Buick GNX and all of its turbocharged glory. And as I said, if you're the "Initial D" or tuner types, I think you might like the Buick GNX. Never mind it being "ugly," just maybe give it a chance. Take one to El Capitan or someplace and just rip s*** up there. You know I'll want to race the latest Camaro (meaning, mid 1990s to early 2000). If the sporty Camaro RS is in, I'll be wanting to mod that thing up to be a road racing, street-legal piece of Americana. I don't want 98Cobra hating on me because I'd want to race a Camaro rather than its rival Mustang. But I'd want Mustang racing as well in the game. And since reading that the latest Mustang will be in GT4, I'd like to give it a test drive and see if I can be as dominant in a Mustang as Paul Gentilozzi or maybe even Brian Simo (Trans-Am, in case you're wondering).

I'm still hooked on wanting to race a Shelby Cobra with the convertible top down. Old-school muscle, a Texas-size amount of horsepower, and just hums sweetly down the track. I don't know. Maybe I'm one of the few GT fans who aren't really committed to one type of car or one nationality of car. I think the GT series is about seeing the world of cars and learning about each of them. That makes the series special besides great racing.

im not really sure why people even like american cars. japanese cars are the best by far. there is the almighty skyline gtr which dominates just about every offical race it enters, the insanly powerfull supra and the nimble lancers and imprezzas. these are some of the best cars in the world and im glad that they are in the game.

Ya, I'm stoked on cool american cars being in the game. Once GT4 goes online, I really can't wait to spank the peeps in their evos and skylines around Trial Mountain driving some boxing American metal... it's gonna be sweet. :sly:

whoa dude. why would you even come into a thread called american cars if you don't like them?

american cars are just as good as any others. it's just that people never compare the same class cars to each other.

all i'm saying is that if you don't like american cars take it to a thread that is about that.

we all have our own tastes.

Mr. McShake

I knew a chevelle had a 454. I was close.

Yeah, but you have to remember that not everyone likes all of those cars you mentioned. Like Mr. McShake said, we all have our own tasts.

Sorry man, not gonna like some car just because it dominates some racing series that I dont even watch.

You know, if you live in America and have the Speed Channel, there should be that marathon of "American Muscle Car." So you have a lot of classic American muscle, even for cars that aren't... well, classic. For example, the show featured the Dodge Viper in a past season of the series. An American car I'm actually looking forward to racing is the Saleen S7. I'll take basically any bit of exotic and slick American cars even if I wanted to take them around Costa di Amalfi, or have some NASCAR-style bang-em-up fest at Citta di Aria.

are the vector silly cars back in? they were fast as hell.

While I'm pretty pleased with the expanded selection that GT4 looks like it'll have, there's still a few more American cars that I'd like to see:

1963 Pontiac Catalina Super Duty 421
1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt
1970 Buick GSX
1984-86 Ford Mustang SVO (Why not?)
Any kind of Firebird!
...and I always thought the Pontiac Fiero would be neat in a game...

As I said when I first released this thread, American cars mean more than just muscle cars. Kinigitt, you mentioned Vector. The thing I liked best about them is that you can go from 0 to 100 mph in second gear. The only real problems with this car is that it's incredibly heavy for a supercar, ad with only four gears, you probably won't make the most of its power.

A car I would surely like to see represented are those from Mosler. Mosler's most recent creation is the Corvette-powered Mosler MT900. It is a sexy machine from this Florida-based company. It raced in sportscar racing a few times. Before the MT900, there was the Mosler Raptor, which looks more like a Daytona Prototype. But the Raptor was out before the Grand-Am series even came about. I would love to race a Mosler MT900R around any track I can access in GT4. Look up the MT900R online. Who WOULDN'T want to race this sexy beast?

Yep; beautiful car. Would be nice if it was included.

Mosler would be nice if the car didn't break so much. Everytime Car and Driver or Road And Track tested one, the car broke. speaks volumes of the engineering that goes into Vettes.
Sorry but when a $45,000+ car is beaten by a car that is under it's class and costs $34,000. Well it's hard to swallow.

eeh... its the bad thing if you dont visit the forum that much often... you misss this kinda good threads.
ok, i just read the preliminary official list of cars that'll be on gt4, and I must say I AM dissapointed, because once again, there are 3 dozens of -insert a popular... or even worse, NON popular jdm car here- against two or three really popular -legendary?- american or euro car. I counted countless Miatas, and only three mustangs. wtf? ok, the miata is a cool car. there are SIX EFFING Daihatsu Copens. and just three mustangs. yeah, in grand PD tradition, it may be enough to put a car in the game so it will be present and mentioned. but if this car is jdm, PD will delve into history to dig up EVERY variation and tune-up it has had. Accounts for some 40 skylines of every era, including of course the tuned versions and all those factory versions that differ for a letter in their name and 2 hp, and all the race versions the world has ever seen. yet we have one mustang. oh, ok, three for the cobra R and the new stang. 3 mustangs. please. I could dig up 40 versions of mustangs, street and race (the Parnelli Jones boss 302 Trans Am champion 70 would make the game) that would have to get in the game if PD had any respect for motorsports and the car world whatsoever, but alas, its again a jdm-selling machine, this game. yeah, im happy it even included the GNX and all the muscle cars, but, please, its the same **** as in GT3, only this time its more bearable because there are almost 700 cars. what would you say? 250 intl cars against 450 jdms? I'd bet.

Cano

and if there isnt any more jdm **** to slip in, they'll invent it, no problem. A Gran Turismo skyline? who would have tought of it? oh, yeah, PD, to fill out another precious space with a worthless overused car. nice. Id trade that thing off for a Dodge Omni. or, oh, a 5.0 Mustang. r how about a plain jane version of the BMW 3.2? they include the race-bred one, but no normal stuff. yet there are two skyline GTTs. its all the damn same, but at least the fun will last more as getting all the non-jdm cars and tune them will take more time. after that, it will be just a tramit.

Agreed.

there seems to be a lot of people crying into there pints right about now

funny you mention it.

It's a japanese game, made by a japanese auto enthusiast. He obviously grew up fascinated by japanese machinery, so it's just logical that there are a lot more of them. I'm not saying it's fair, it's just the way it goes with GT.

I agree with everything CANO said, just not as vehemently. If KY is as much of a motorsports buff as he leads on, he'll eventually get around to the stuff the rest of the world cherishes.

True, true.
