Lexus is more known for luxury, not sport. The hood does look like it doesn't close all the way, yes I know it's purposeful, Porsches look the same. (I happen to like it)

Impossible and a "wrong opinion"

That's the whole point of the LFA though, you realise. It is to challenge people's preception of the Lexus brand and (hopefully) hint at what's to come in the future.

While I am amazed by your response, I can't argue with you love for the GT3. Apart from the Carrera GT, the GT3 is the best porsche there is, nay one of the best cars there is. The looks, the handling, the sound... I would do terrible things to own a 997 GT3

If that is their goal, they should make an exciting car that is somewhat affordable, not a supercar. 👍

I like the European models

Mainly becasue we don't get many of them here in Canada and you can import the older japanese iron now.

so it's nice to be able to drive cars i never could.

Which is exactly what they did with the IS-F. But in order to really challenge the image of the brand, they needed to do something incredible, which they did with the LFA :)

Not trying to be argumentative, but the IS-F misses the mark a bit IMO. Problem is that it is $20,000 more than an EVO or WRX and $10,000 more than a base Corvette, so it fails in the bang-for-buck category and frankly suffers from Toyota-itis...the disease of being terribly bland in terms of styling. I certainly won't criticise their technology, though.

Now, if they came out with a nice V8 RWD coupe in the $40,000 range without all the bells and whistles of the SC430 that would be sweeet.

True, but it wasn't meant to compete with an EVO, WRX or Corvette. It's two main rivals were the BMW M3 and AMG C63. It is very close to both the Germans in terms of straight line speed and while it doesn't quite match them for balance and suspension composure, it has received a lot of praise for being a very enjoyable car to drive.

Also you have to remember that this is the first car of its kind that Lexus have produced, so to even hold a candle to cars as established as the M3 or C63 is a pretty solid effort. I'd say lexus are off to a good start

Euro for me, and to dissect even further, Audi...........But I have favorites from all regions.

I can't pick honestly, well I picked Japanese because it's what I first fell in love with, but then I found some amazing cars on in other origins.

All "proper" cars are enginered for the European market. And the best cars for Europe come from Europe.

Id have to say japanese except some of the older cars like the datsun for example are really bad for corrosion. I personally think that the japanese were best in the 90s. Reliability back then was untouchable, the cars were cheaper to buy and maintain and although i hate modifying cars, if you wanted you could modify them quite easily in many ways.
Just think back to the nissan skyline r32, early generation toyota mr2, the honda civics plus the nsx.
Some people mock cars like these moaning about their cheap plastic interiors and that they are common etc, but if these people just took time to look past these faults they would discover cars that really were the foundation of proper sports cars.

It's got to be Japanese, always was into Japanese makes, European comes close second tho.

Are you suggesting there aren't good roads and drivers in Japan or America? Or in Australia, or anywhere else for that matter?

No. Why does somewhere having the best mean no where else still has good?

No. Why does somewhere having the best mean no where else still has good?

It doesn't, although I would argue that the best piece of road is in Australia :) (Ok, maybe equal best with Germany)

Hahaha, you must not know anything at all about the LFA then :dopey:, and secondly, that is simply impossible and a wrong opinion lol.

First off, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, sorry you don't like it. That's life kid, get used to it.

Second, what I said is true, Lexus has never produced a performance car until making the LFA. Lexus is known in the US for luxury, not performance. And that big gap at the front is still ugly.

Third, for what Lexus wants to charge for the LFA (that's $375,000 MSRP in the US), I'd much rather spend that kind of money on a few proven performers rather then try an unknown.

I was a faithful fan of Japanese cars until one day, their CEOs had a meeting and decided to make ****boxes instead of real cars.

I voted American, but it was a tough call. I like muscle cars, Corvettes and Vipers, but also European hot-hatches, British lightweights and hyper cars. In the end the vote went to American because European sport car makers are stopping to offer manual transmission, and to me, that's just unforgivable. 👎

My all-time favourite car will always be the McLaren F1 though!

No doubt, it's a cool car for sure. I was just pointing out that the person I quoted was being incredibly close minded. 👎
The car sounds amazing, looks great, but overall doesn't really do much for me.

I'll stick with a Porsche:drool:
