I'm out of this series, it's becoming far too serious this season, the direction it's heading will lose the essence of what made this series entertaining and this decision to lock the thread during the week is ridiculous at best. The fact this was neglected by gatrs becaure his PS3 packed it in just adds to the bitter taste.

Deep use of words, Mitch.

Then who do I have to compete with? Nobody is really close to me on points and the season has only 2 races left, Mitch why would you leave? It's mostly just forum talk, when it comes race time it's racing, not much off topic

It's mostly just forum talk

But now gatrs doesn't allow forum talk.
That's why Mitch is mad.

It's off topic, there are already threads about that stuff.
You don't need to clutter this thread.
If you behave yourselves, I won't lock it next week. 👍

I'm not mad, just a bit annoyed by the way this series has been run this season. We're 2 races from the end of the season and the OP and points haven't been updated since race 3 IIRC. It's just not worth hanging around while this slowly turns into a dictatorship with no free speech.

How do you think Shem feels :scared:

I don't have access to the points spreadsheet. :/
Potatohead has seemingly ended up with T Ray and MajikTom.

And I asked you guys which classes you wanted to do next season.
How is that a dictatorship without free speech?

HahahahahHahHa.
As stereotypical and misconceived as that is, it made me lol so hard it woke my parents up.
Haha

Off topic talk is bound to happen (remember season 1?) so locking the thread because you don't like it is being a dictator telling people what to talk about. And people called me draconian...

@ Rocko

I don't get how that's funny, or how it's meant to be funny..

Shem is a user that lives and works in China.

What happened to Shem? Did I miss something? And how about I go open up an off-topic ALMS thread we can discuss everything in and when we go to here we discuss, you know, who's doing what, next race is at blah blah etc.?

Edit: I get it, dictatorship
Lolololololol

Well seriously it's not his fault, it would be terrible living like that :indiff: @ Cow I think it would be better to start an ALMS group and make a discussion

There is an ALMS group so no point starting another...

Anyone keen on forming a Le Mans Series to run the way the old ALMS did?

Click on the link in my sig.
Discuss all you want in there.

Well guys to keep on topic, what are your plans for season 3, car preferences, liveries, etc?

I like the car choices for this season, but it would be cool to have others the R8 LMSs for example, they're in the OCD now :D

I'm keen on the Ford GT with Robertson Racing livery just not Robertson Racing...racing...

Just for those that haven't seen it:

"Whoah, season three already!
I still remember that first gauging interest thread. lol

So I've been back and forth between three and four classes.
I'm trying to decide between LMP, GT1, GT2, and whether or not we should try GTC again.
LMP I'm gonna say no group c cars.
GT1 will be race cars.
GT2 will be road cars.
GTC will be the RUF.

I'm going to try to create a smaller car list for the GT classes, so it will only be cars or similar cars that have competed and received championship points in the ALMS THIS YEAR.
So GT1 will have the BMW M3 GTR Race Car, the Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II (not the test car), either the Corvette C5-R or the ZR1 RM, MAYBE the XJ220 LM Race Car but probably not, the Panoz is probably a no go also. Small car choice yes, but this will force people to team up.
GT2 will be the 458, the RGT, the XKR, the ZR1, and the Ford GT. No F430 or F430 Scuderia. EDIT: forgot the M3.

If we do GTC, we'll use the RUF RGT, or maybe the CTR2. Keep in mind that the CTR2 is 4WD though.

I'll probably ditch the team racing, but give manufacture points."

Look, I've thought about this and I'll stay to close out the season but with no McLaren next season there'll be no NRG Racing.

Your already part of it...

American Le Mans Series group.

There.

Anyone else tried an Enzo at 460hp/1250kg? It's actually quite a quick car at those specs.

EDIT: Testing at Nurb earlier, 1:57.888.

Can't stand the Enzo. Even a super-powered one can barely beat all the cars at the Ferrari seasonal at Le Mans. So tweaky and requires a ton of micromanagement without some traction control. I can't imagine taming it for a series...

Stability problems for me with the Enzo. I'm going to be online testing at the Nurb for tomorrows race. Going to try the ALFA 8C as well.

I fully tuned mine and can beat the La Sarthe seasonal cars by 10 sec. or more. No TC, ABS 4, approx. 900 hp, racing softs.

I won't make it :(

So going by the weight to hp ratio most cars in GT go by, around 2.6, the ALFA 8C at it's lightest is 1284kg. So the hp ratio would be 493hp. For fun I tested it at 1284kg and 480hp and could only get 2:01s at best. So with 15 more hp and some tuning I'll try again and see how it stacks up.

Why are we running these cars and not ALMS or Le Mans race cars?

That's what I'm wondering...
