Sup guys!

First, let me say sorry for all the people I've bumped into during the race. I bumped into a lot of folks and caused quite a few spin outs ((xamillion, tray, in particular)). I also knocked out Cowboy by accident during the 2nd to last lap of the race! Sorry!

I agree that heavy damage should be on. Light damage, though it affects your car, turns itself off after a certain amount of time, making a driver's racing inconsistent in my opinion. Having heavy damage on makes the race more cautious and more calculating as to make sure not to mess up your own car to affect your driving position.

For the LMP Class, I think those drivers need to be extra careful in how to navigate through the GT and GTC traffic. I think that the LMP cars needs to stay behind any cars that they can not pass on the straights and stay behind until a more than reasonable opening for overtaking presents itself. In my opinion, the GT and GTC cars should also take care not to purposely make maneuvers to yield to faster cars, rather, they should stay on course and let the faster cars worry about how to get in front of them than to have you figure out how to yield to them.

Overall, that was a very fun and intense race. Cowboy kept me on my toes throughout the race trying to catch up to him and forced errors and traffic related errors. I look forward to the next race!

I am up for running Monza again or trying out the Daytona Road Course.

Oh yeah you had a really late brake and rear ended me into the sand, thanks for waiting for me and letting me pass you though, appreaciate it thx for that, also I saw you go right into the sand right before the end I think and I was like "Oooohhh!!! He's in the sand!!!" lol fun time though sorry for the ramming guys and I'll try to be more careful next race

Yeah. That does suck. Never seen that happen before. When I saw that, IO was like, oh no....yes! No offense.

And imo always use weather. Racing in the rain separates the men from the boys. Plus throws strategies out the windows when it starts to pour. I will be out of town next weekend, so will not be in the preseason race.

I use the old Logitech ex playstation 2 wheel. It serves it's purpose but I'd love to get at least a dfgt someday.

As you can see, it hasn't made me any faster... But it does make the experience a lot more enjoyable, in my opinion.

Mine has USB so it was easy. It just doesn't have a featured calibration system for PS3 so every time when I first start up racing in GT5 I have to remember to pause, turn left, right, left, or it gets all off-balance easily

NRGR LMP1 Contender?

Having recently acquired an ex-works Audi R10 NRG Racing set about testing their new toy. "Its unbelievable, the grip is just so much better compared to the LMES GTE and ALMS GT Corvettes. Only thing that I'm still trying to get my head around is the paddle shift and all those buttons on the wheel," team owner and driver Mitch told the local press. Having succeeded in the past in the GT categories with Corvettes it is only fitting NRG Racing makes the step up to the prototype categories to fight for overall honours.

"We've got the car, now we've got to sort out where we want to race it. ALMS seems logical as Flyin is racing for our satellite Lamborghini team so theres not much point fighting with him over wins in GT, we'll see but we will be racing it at the ALMS preseason round at Le Mans this week before taking a break to watch the 24 Hour race the day after."

And so he disappeared back to the NRGR facility set up in the La Sarthe pits, many toys on display outside such as the #55 GTE Corvette, the in developement McLaren MP4-12C GT and a couple of NRG Edition Corvette Z06s being used by the team to take the assembled press and fans on joyrides around the track.

An interesting season lies ahead for NRG Racing who have much to prove after taking themselves out of the Le Mans Endurance Series preseason round 3 at the Nurburgring and only managing to scrape home a win at Monza in the ALMS race thanks to slow traffic catching up the lead GT car, can NRGR return to its dominance of the past (ALMS GT1 class before they dropped to GT2 last season) or will the seasons shambles throw the team off victory lane?

I vote for at least trying heavy damage for the last preseason race, then we can decide from there.

I think we also need to iron out the etiquette for passing slower cars. Should the lower classes (GT, GTC) yield to LMPs? Should lapped traffic within the class yield to the faster cars? I think setting some guidelines and making sure people follow them would be a good idea. It doesn't matter to me which way we go, but it needs to be a uniform rule so drivers all know what to expect of the cars they're trying to pass.

Nice race last night, Mitch and Flyin. If only I'd have caught Cowboys car on a straight... I think it would have made an interesting race at the end if Flyin hadn't left/disconnected.

I agree with this, I got plowed from behind by him a number of times!

On the high speed corner (turn 1?) the 787 hit me, put some wheels on the grass, ended up in spin city. Ended up getting passed by t_ray. In an attempt to catch him (didn't know if he had pitted yet). I went with a very low fuel stop (to avoid spending too much time in the pit). Didn't work out and ended running out at the end.

1 stop seems to be the way to go in GTC

Yeah, i was pretty far behind a while, I got wrecked a couple times, and then drove off the track myself in an attempt to let patatoe chip by in the first turn.

Ok, we'll try heavy damage at the next preseason race.

The next preseason is going to be at Monza again guys.
If you guys don't want to do that track again, we can also do Daytona Road Course...

Plus there's no way to enforce tire usage. You can just switch to softs after your first pit stop and no one would know or be able to regulate. Which I would probably do TBH.

I don't know what happened last race but all the ones I've been in have been fairly clean considering there are 16 multi-class cars of non-professional race car drivers on the same track for extended periods of time. I'm guessing there were a ton of hits to spark this debate.

He's got a very good point. But one must understand that the soft compound doesn't favor endurance. If we are having races more than 20 laps on La Sarthe, the softs are not going to last. Therefore, you'd have to make ANOTHER pit stop to put on more softs, mediums, or hards (any tire, really). It depends on how long the race is.

BTW if you are using PM's to notify when races start, I don't have one, and I only just figured out that there even is such a thing. Maybe because I am a new user??? I don't really understand.

Plus, despite the looming temptation of that Audi 👍, I'm still going with the Sauber C9.

I have no problem with making it racing hards... Although wouldnt that mean MORE accidents? Oh, and, there is no difference in longevity between the different tire compounds. Racing softs last just as long as racing hards... Racing hards just have less grip.
