A good start to the season with the champagne (or is that Budweiser?) going to JetBoys427. A closely fought 2nd and 3rd place between Jump_Ace and kennythebomb.

Track :
New York (Forward) Hotlap

Rules:
Use the car and setup you have opted for, following the rules outlined in the AMC Thread.

Discuss only T-times.
Clean OLR Standards:
No wall touching.
The enitire course is considered part of the track; sidewalks, rumble strips and all (just stay off the walls).
No hybrids
No Cheating of any kind

Time Submission:
Send your time via PM to me, including splits and final run.

Submit the time listed in replay file name by 11:59 AM (PST) September Sunday 18th. You may run as often or as little as you like; you've got the full week to perfect your setup and gain the fastest single lap that you can.

Although I'd prefer it if drivers didn't re-send multiple times (it may cause a mix up with what is considered your final and fastest run), this is only a loose rule ... you can submit more than once before the deadline, just try not to bury me :p

Luxy has kindly allowed us a little webspace for tracking splits (as per the Luxy Leaderboard used in the WRS):

YEE HAA!!!

Finally get to race my Stinger!!! Let's see if all that testing proves out. I'll post some splits as soon has I have somthing decent...

Added Splits:

T1: 31.793
T2: 1'12.818

No time to spare....off to go race.

In my '69 SS!!!! (glad I spent 10k on that tranny)

First lap:

T1: 31.686
T2: 1:15.211

Edit:

T1: 31.455
T2: 1:13.803

This is so much fun. It reminds me of the Toyota 3 lap Mission!!!

Wow Lewie, awesome run! I'm going to have to pull something special out this afternoon to get in the same ballpark with my Z28 :p

Just did a 31.7xx T1 and 1'16.366 T2 in the Chevelle, which is not final yet. Going to see what this can do and try a couple other rides.

Edit: 31.5/1'14.6

Could I suggest that we submit a quarter mile time weekly, too? Not necessarily a Nurb time, though.

I think I picked the worst car!

34 something for the first split! :(

Cheer up, there's still 8 weeks left in the series. Which car are you using?

Edit: I saw a T1 of 31.151, and then decided that my front end need a little re-arranging and ran straight into the wall at the end of the straight!!! :ouch: :ouch:

He has the C2 'Vette.

Updated times: 31.1xx, 1'14.593

The C2 Vette is a nice car, but I did notice an innate tendency to lose a lot of speed in those New York corners (and the splits really show where the time is being lost). Not sure if this can be tuned out through some nifty transmission settings, or if New York just isn't going to make the C2 (and others!) shine.

I have a feel for the track and the car, now I'm just playing around w/ the weight balance, tranny, and the suspension to see if anything will help. New splits:

T1: 31.386
T2: 1:13.210

Nat, you have me down for the C2...I haven't even decided yet.

Sorry E, thought you had ... I'll get that off now.

My personal splits are YUCK! :yuck: But I've made up some good time and have a personal best in this particular car. I have noticed that (with the Z28 at least), one pause can lose so much momentum and hence a great deal of time (in the left, left, right, left combo I gained .8 alone just here, when I decided to hit it slightly differently).

T1: 31.856
T2: 1'14.426

I've also had a quick run at the Point-to-Point at the Ring and all I can say is OMG what a blast! The Z28 rocks from side to side like a freaking shrimp trawler, so it can be a very precise art trying to keep the damned thing on the track. What a blast!

I've given Jump_Ace my time from T2 to T4 just to get the ball rolling on that one.

Eh....

The 'Bird is rather touchy... But somewhat consistant.

T1: 30.626
T2: 1'12.209

I know ther will be a certain Corvette that will knock me off my roster soon... But, for now, I'm happy. :)

I guess I'm kinda tired today I posted my splits for this week in another page :dunce: , but Kolyana was nice enuf to do it without yelling at me...lol. Here's my splits:

T1 - :31.559
T2 - 1:12.280

Need to get a sub 1:12 here then I'll be happy, but its TOUGH :)

So what did u purchase with your $$$? Did u buy a tranny, it was a real close debate for me to buy one or not, but I went with tires and MANY items rather than just one.

Okay well theres a slight problem I hate to bring it up, but.....looks like ur gonna have to re purchase some items here. Now your total amount spent is under $26,000 which is fine, HOWEVER (and Kolyana plz verify this one for me as well) you may only spend $15,000 on NON-HP upgrades and I have you down as using $18,850 for total Non-HP upgrades, so u will need to fix that, but the good news is that u can spend up to $11,000 on HP upgrades instead of just $6,450 as shown here. So make some minor adjustments and send them as a pm to Kolyana and re race NY. Sorry for the confusion but that is why we have designated amounts for HP and NON-HP. That is how we ran our tests and such. I hate to be such a Nazi and unless I'm missing something here your kinda SOL.

Non-HP Upgrades:
1200 - Weight Reduction I
10400 - FC tranny
1700 - Sports Clutch
1050 - Racing Flywheel
4500 - LSD 2 Way

=$18850 ->$3,850 OVER your limit.

HP Upgrades:
4900 NA Level I
1500 Racing Chip
50 Oil Change
=$6450 ->$4,550 UNDER your limit

Total
=25300

If you review the rules on the first page (of the first thread), it states that HP money that isn't used can be rolled over onto Non-HP money, but not vice-versa. :D Have a nice day.

Yes, HP$ that isn't used can be rolled over into non-HP upgrades. If Jetboys427 used $4550 under his HP amount, he can then slide this over to his non-HP upgrades. Sacrificing power for handling is a nice tactic and something I wanted to make available as a possibility.

THere u go then....Well I guess I remember wrong.....sorry mate. Dang, I feel bad now :nervous: :dunce: :scared: :indiff: .....well let's race!

As fast as my car will go...

T1 - 32.517
T2 - 1'14.152

I will have another go at this tonight, I am hoping that the C2 will be a little better on the race tracks...

Are we allowed to change mods from race to race?

Better Splits!!!

T1: 31.675
T2: 1'12.311

Improved T2 by .5 :) 👍
Improved lap time by only .3 :indiff: . So I should be able to find at least that additional .2. I really thought my final sector was better too but thats not what the clock said and it don't lie. Although my 1st set of splits were with TCS 0. The 2nd set were with TCS 1. I wonder if the TCS 0 was allowing me to come off that final corner better and allow quicker acceleration to the start/finish line?

Well, after seeing jump_ace's splits I couldn't go to sleep last night w/o setting some new splits:

T1: 31.534
T2: 1:12.856

Wow... quick times. So far I think my best T2 was a 1'20.xx >_<. Lots of work to do. *looks at clock* NO! 6 more hours of school before I can race?!

I know how you feel. I'm just about to leave for work, so it's going to be about 9 hours or so before I get to race. :yuck: :ouch: :yuck:

Again, sorry for my confusion earlier guys, but this is just going EXACTLY as planned, our splits are getting SSOOOO close, its like a dream come true, keep it up peeps!

If you call 10 seconds behind close then you and koly have a mutual hatred for the Cuda... :scared: . My only question... WHY CAN THIS CAR NOT BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF THE OTHERS?! The car has 660HP, weighs less than a majority of the cars, but my splits are 8 seconds slower! The only thing that isn't an HP upgrade I could buy that would help me would be a limited slip(the car is fine with normal brakes... the longer it takes this car to lose speed the better)... or nitrous... but nitrous is banned anyway.

I've decided the problem lies in the tranny... which is the cars only real strength, yet it's also the major weakness. gah... so little tuning... so much time... or vice versa... Or it could just be the fact I can't drive. >_<
