An Embarrassing Situation

How old are you?
And why would I want to show anyone else what she looks like?

I am the one who likes her, I don't care what anyone else thinks about her, I just wanted some advice on what to do in my situation.

Brett, listen closely. Just walk by her house, act casual, like your just taking a walk.. Dont feel like your stalking her, i mean it doesnt matter that you know her address, its not like she has to know that. Maybe if you have good luck she will be outside doin somethin. If you see her n she sees you, then maybe just say hi, being polite n just keep walking (but not quickly or nervously). If you live in a nice neighborhood then i dont think it will matter and she will just think your being nice. After she sees you she wont be so freaked out if you go over.

Basically, i think she will get freaked out either way, letter or post card, because she will want to know how the HELL you got her address. Either way, walking by her house would be best. And DONT just do it once! Because the one time you walk by she might not be outside.. So just walk by maybe once a week looking casual, and if she ever asks you why you walk by her house so much, just say you do a walk once a week to keep in shape or something.. Best thing to do is just to walk by n take your chances. Id rather not see a fellow GTP member get his ass beat cuz he knew a girls address when he wasnt supposed to.

The chat approach is good, so if you ever catch her in a chat, really just act like you never seen her profile before... She wont take on too well to you knowing who she is and basically hunting her down. So do NOT say her name! Not when your in the chat, until you ask her and she tells you, and DEFINITELY not if you catch her outside her house n you talk to her!

If you dont catch her in a chat in the next week or so, i really just suggest walking by her house. You see, she may not really be all that fond of the internet and she may not use it much, like once in a blue moon.

Well i hope i helped and good luck. :)

If I explained how I ended up with her address was sort of an accident it would be alright to send a letter wouldn't it?

The walking by her house thing is out of the question.
I have already sent her e-mails which she probably hasn't checked.
Just say that it works fine, and I meet her by walking by her house or something, she will check her e-mail eventually.

The best way I could go about it is:

Wait a couple of days to see if she is in any chat rooms, I have been looking for over 2 weeks.
Then send her a small letter explaining the situation, and how I ended up with her address, and how I would like to talk to her on the net one day.

That is the best plan of action I can think of at the moment, mainly because it came from GilesGurthie and boombexus.
Go back and read their replies and see if you agree.

I read all the replies in this thread. My idea is that.. She wont think your a push over if you walk by her house.

She wont think all that much of you if you send a small lette rjust tellin her that.. She would most likely get freaked.. I mean you must not hang around with 13 yr old girls often. But ok, take your route, i dont care, you only took 15 mins of my life when i was writing my post (you BASTARD!!! )!

No im only kidding about that.. But still.. Take what i said into account. Later man.

Sorry if I offended you, I didn't mean to.
I just thought that walking past someones place after only seeing a profile of them on the net is a little weird and stalkerish.

Hopefully she will be on the net soon, so the whole contact problem doesn't have to be dealt with by letters or stalking!

Thanks,
Brett.

Here is the new letter if all else fails:
I am going to walk by her house and drop it in her letter box too.

Dear Erin,

My name is Brett and I have been trying to contact you through your msn profile for a little while, but you haven’t been online when I looked.
I ended up with your address by checking whether you were related to a friend of mine in the phonebook, and you are the only person in Glenorchy with that surname.
After reading your profile, I thought that we had a couple of things in common, so I wrote you this letter, just to ask if you would like to chat sometime on the internet or whatever suits you.
Could I please have your hotmail address so I can see when you are online?

My phone number is 62731927 or you can write a letter to the address on the back of the envelope. Do whatever you feel comfortable with.

I have also sent a couple of e-mails to you through your profile, I guess that you just haven’t been using the internet lately.

Yours Truly,
Brett Mansfield

It is a lot better I think,
Thanks a lot, you guys (and girls) have helped me a lot.
Brett.

Better!

Just don't use "yours truly" and say something like "cheers" or "bye".

Oh, and I've marked red the things that you should take out of the letter and maybe you should say something funny too, it's not quite spontanous enough...

Thanks,
But what is wrong with the red bits?
I think they relieve the pressure off her on what she has to do to conatct me?

I guess the "Cheers" on the end is a little better too.

Thanks again, you have been a great help.

hi bret,

The second letter is much better, and as was said earlier try and add abit of humour to it, it will make her smile and relax her a little, and talkin online first is a real good idea. As you will have gathered through these posts; i am slip2rocks long-term girlfriend and we were talking via text and emails for a month before we met and now we live together ..... so i can work out! Have patience and you never know!! :) - the best things are worth waiting for!!!!!!!!!

good luck

Cheers, Slip and Bird!

Brett,

Good show there mate! You have displayed qualities in this thread that are indicitive of a much older person. ;)

I think that your "short version" letter is well written. I would however change your comment "
Could I please have your hotmail address so I can see when you are online?
Just sounds a bit off to me. My suggestion to you would be,

"If you could share your hotmail address with me, we could make this possible."

Or something to that affect.

Best of luck to you Brett, and remember, you need to be like CNN in here with us, "constant updates!"

Peace,
Boom

The red bits make you look semi-desperate again. :)

youve given out way too much information about yourself to a stranger, stop wasting your time with girls that are 2 years younger, chances are your not gonna like the way she acts.

im sorry to change the subject but since we be talkin abou MSN,does anyone know why i can get the friggen chatrooms to load?

U don't even deserve her. And as if she is going 2 go after u. Your 15 and shes ONLY 13. Dream on!!!! She would proably go after someone her own age Good luck!!! Your going 2 need it after she slaps u over the face and dogs u!!!!!!!
