An Explanation For Oil Change HP Increase

Maybe since the GT Auto Oil Change Info Screen says that it is High Performance Oil, maybe cars come with other oil that isn't High Performance Oil. Just food for thought.

This theory is as old as gt 5. Not to mention it would be hilarious if pd dont think a veyron ferrari or formula one cars come with high performance oil.

Well that's rather obvious isn't it? A logical conclusion which is implied by that info screen, it goes without saying and therefor hardly food for thought, unless you want to ponder what other explanation may cause an increase in horsepower by changing the oil.

In real life horsepower can go up when changing dirty oil because you are putting in fresh oil with more lubricating properties than the old dirty oil drained out and you get a better piston ring seal with fresh oil.

Changing the oil first in gt5 on a brand new car and getting the power increase baffles me. A LOT of new cars come with a break in package in the original oil and should be changed within the first 500 miles of use. But this still does not explain the power going up on a brand new car after changing the oil.

Because it's a videogame? It might therefor be exaggerated and since the cars in GT5 are mainly used for competitive purposes unlike most of their real life counterparts which often do not use high performance oil and do not need to have their oil changed roughly every 120 miles (real life race and rally cars often do and more frequently).

Some high performance oils are actually bad for standard road cars as the oil is very thin and designed to run of high compression engines. Put into a regular car and the oil will leak through seals into areas of the engine where you don't want oil.

Newer oils aren't always better, put a modern fully synth oil in a mini and it will blow the gearbox while the classic mineral 20w50 is perfect for the job.
