Ok, I have a problem here and I'm wondering if it's just me or if others experience the same... I use a DS4 the problem is I grip it so hard my hands physically hurt after any kind of long session! It's the same with all racing games... Definitely not the design of the pad because I can go hours on end on something like battlefield.

I grip it so hard I hear the plastic creaking and flexing from the force, after every race my hands and fingers really do hurt! I've tried lessening my grip but it's an effort and I never can go as fast. The thing I put it down to is adrenaline and supreme concentration and if I relax my grip I'm just not as fast. I use the sticks only, right for gas / brake, left for steering. It's not my thumbs that hurt, more my knuckles and fingers from just gripping it so hard. I do worry it'll cause arthritis in my old age!!

That's all very well and good, but I'm not sure what you want us to do.

Get a wheel?

It's not well... or good! LOL And I'm wondering if anyone else does the same? That's all.

Haven't the space or desire for a wheel.

I used to do this. Just be aware of your hands and relax them when you catch yourself. With a little behavioral therapy youll get over it. A wheel won't help, you'd probably strangle the thing. It's your bodies natural response to the tense nature of the activity.

Be aware and relax. Once you do you'll save your hands and your lap times.

Lowering the steering sensitivity would probably help to. You'll be able to perform micro corrections without oversteering and hold better lines in and out of corners. This will help you relax as well.
