Gamepot still have 12/14/04. Maybe IGN know something?kinigittIf they were a rookie studio releasing a big game for the first time, or if their publisher wasn't familiar with the lay of the land, it would be a semi-legit excuse.
As it stands, it's just ridiculous.
P.S.: IGN JUST CHANGED THEIR RELEASE DATE TO MARCH 05! 👎
IGN lists NTSC dates, I should add.
No need to say sorryslackbladderGamepot still have 12/14/04. Maybe IGN know something?
Considering the UK is the third largest consumer of video games in the world why can't we have games released specifically for this market? Sure there may be some imported from the UK to Europe but considering there's going to be thousands of imports of the Japanese and US games to Europe anyway it makes no difference. Sorry to everyone else in Europe but really UK gamers deserve better.
thats true, plus, you must see, there are two types of video game sales that GT4 will get. One is the GT fans that will buy it no matter when it comes out. the second and much larger sales group is holiday shoppers. GT4 will sell about 1,000,000 copies just during the holiday season just to those people who see a big buget game to buy their son/daughter/brother/sioster/nephew... you get the idea. Those sales will disolve after the holiday season, and cant be replaced. Thats $50,000,000 of cash flow thats lost if the games not released in DEC. If sony loses that kinda cash, heads are gonna roll. I think the time Kaz San spent doing 800 laps of Nurburgring instead of keeping his team of schedual might be a point of conserne.The359PD wouldn't delay GT4 in America right after releasing commercials that say December.

If they're right, you might want to send your e-mail anywaySolid LiftersLet's hope, along with everything else, IGN is wrong about this.
Solid LiftersDear Sony,
I have a problem, and it's all your fault. I have no life. I should have a life, playing GT4, but since you haven't released it yet, I have no life. So, instead of doing something good or decent with my life, I'm sending this letter of my personal fellings to you. Fellings of how much I hate you, because you haven't yet released GT4. Don't you realize how much you've wronged me! Shame on you!
You are poop.
Sincerely,
Mr. Pathetic Loser.
GTXLRSo Sony and PD dont have enough intelligence and foresight to work on this stuff, in the 3+ years the games been in developement.
What sort of Project management is that?
TheCrackerMy thoughts exactly!
I suppose it comes down to money, or 'profit' i should say. PD could have supplied translators for each country with an early draft of the material well in advance, then once the final draft was made it would take a matter of days to finish all versions. I work in publishing and belive me, a professional out fit could have done those translations a lot quicker than they've managed!
Yes , yes! I garee.chaser_fanAs much as people complain about this and that, at the end of the day a huge percentage of the people who will end up buying GT4, and video-games in general, are just clueless punters who have no idea about release dates, translation issues, network problems etc. etc. When they see the game on the shelf, they will pick it up and buy it. Of course the developer and distributers want it out as soon as possible, but they're not going to lose too many sales, if any, out of the delay. In the meantime we'll just have to be patient.
yetiI concur,
I'm a computer programmer and we have provide our foreign language "experts" with an excel document with translations in every 3 months or so... they usually return it fully translated within a week and we import that into the software. Our software has 5 languages (including English) and this process is very simple.
This delay is very very lame and I'm disappointed with PD for not having any foresight and for not being able to sort this out during production...
C,
TheCrackerI've noticed that all the people who argue that GT4 being delayed until april 05 is not a problem are from regions that are still expecting the game before Xmas this year - strange that
JohnBM01"Annoyed by the latest release date ship? Then do something about it." Had I lived in Europe, I wouldn't seriously be bothered. I'm sure I can do my school work, take on people at the arcades, hit on some Euro cuties, or something like that. I have plenty of Plan B's. Is John boy bothered? Not at all. As I've said, I can wait.
Now let's get some facts down. I'm from America, and the American date won't change unless the airplanes run out of fuel and have to have canoes catapult packages of GT4 out to America. I'm sure this won't happen, but I can wait. Normally, I'm not impatient. But this is just a game. Maybe even more than a game. You may see me type "BRING ON GT4," but I'm not like "please release GT4 or else..." I never will. So I'm not bothered if it comes late, as long as it comes. Keep in mind, plans for "Duke Nuken Forever" have been around since 1997 at least. And it's not out yet. Neither is GT4 out. If we put up at least two years for "Star Ocean, Till the End of Time," or the upcoming HALO game, then GT4 is still anxiously awaited. And I don't mind waiting. Oh, and if Kazunori Yamauchi was full of you-know-what, GT4 would be glitchy and have bugs and crash about as often as my computer sometimes. As I said before, be thankful it's coming out soon, even if by next Christmas.
So what am I doing about it? Biding my time... and if you can't wait that bad, calm down. And on top of that, I'm sorry for you European folk having to wait longer for this highly-anticipated game.

The GT brand strives for perfection, therefore we need to ensure that
the localisation and testing of the product is done to the highest
possible standard.
