R.I.P.

Those cars do not look to be safely designed and the safety rules discipline around the track seems pretty low as well. Big shame.

Dont tell me that they didnt have time to hit the brakes......it takes no more than 0.1 sec. to hit the brake pedal. They stay on the throttle to try and cane spots before a safety car/caution.

They didn't have time to hit the brakes. Said again for truth. The speeds are in triple digits. There are a million things flying through a racer's head at any time. Even with the adrenaline high that comes with racing, they didn't have time to hit the brakes.

Rest In Peace Guido Falaschi.

I knew something wasn't right, and now I know why... What a year this has been for Motorsport. :(

Is it bad that I consider the cars to be unsafe only because of how easy it seems to get out of them? It takes almost a minute (if you're in a hurry) to get out of a NASCAR, yet these guys are hopping out like they drove to the track in the car.

They definitely need to get some improved safety standards regulating their equipment, much in the same way that the Brazilian stock cars radically modified their cars after a devastating accident a few years ago.

Yea it was differently that T-bone hit for sure. I was watching live when Marco Simoncelli got hit, and that tape is different from the one that aired on the news or many of the replays. Too many people are dying whats going on these days?

Obviously didn't have time to react when he finally saw the car infront, but there was a big dust cloud and a lot of debris. Those are usually signs of possible problems ahead. I have really hard time believing the hitting driver didn't have time to realize that at least someone had gone off the track. He continued flatout and hoped not to hit any debris etc. ahead, but shouldn't be blamed for doing that because it is what most drivers would do in a similar situation.

It appears to be some kind of warning.
