Tuner Notes
A fairly easy car to drive. Very agile through the bends but with enough power to handle the straights, a good package for tight street circuits. To my surprise, the car seems to like CS tires, as I didn’t have much trouble with finding grip. Just be careful through kerbs because it’s pretty easy to get big understeer if you hit a kerb too fast through a corner.

Tuner Notes
A tune based on a combo we did on week 101 of the WRS. A fast compact Honda on a fast street course. The car’s power just rises along the rev range so feel free to top the revs off on each gear. Braking and cornering is also very good but do be careful on when you brake because the CS tires won’t stop as quickly as Sports tires do.

Tuner Notes

Despite its wide body, this car handles really well. The heavy front allows for a little more grip in the low speed corners, which makes it a real joy around Lowe’s hairpin and the Nouvelle chicane. It’s also got decent power which comes in handy on the straights. Understeer is still present in the high speed corners so take care not to dive in too hard.

Tuner Notes

A real handling machine, super sharp and with a lot of power for its weight. The car has a lot of rear grip that on long, sweeping corners, you can really play with the gas pedal. Braking ability is excellent but brake in a straight line as much as possible because the rear can still easily break loose when all the weight shifts to the front.

Tuner Notes
This car understeered heavily when I first started working on it. The LSD was the magic part to work with and I just had to give the diff a strong preload to emphasize the open settings on acceleration. Like other FF cars, you really have to be gentle on the throttle on corner exit, especially on this one. Just do that, and the car actually handles pretty nicely, even around fast turns.

Tuner Notes
Because I was testing for a small and tight track, this tune might not be that good on bigger tracks, though the Evo 9 tune is just for that. Torque distribution near 50:50 was a good choice, full throttle at the apex just gives so much exit speed. Ballast is added to even out the balance a little because 60:40 just understeered everywhere.

when braking i'm sliding into the wall.
Try braking earlier before you start to turn, it's actually really hard to dive into corners while braking with this car, but you can at least get back on the throttle earlier.

Description
Fuji Speedway is a fast track, with a long main straight and demanding high speed corners, so the car is setup for stability around these corners as well as good cornering response through the slow technical section past the Dunlop corner. Among JAF GT300 cars, the IS350 is at the top of its class with regards to straightline speed thanks to the big torque the Formula Nippon engine produces. Overall, the car's a very good match for the high speed Fuji Speedway.

Tuner Notes

A lighter, more balanced version of the sporty M3 tuned specifically for the Nurburgring, boasting improvements all around. The car turns corners with great traction thanks to the softer tires but it still tips on the heavy side despite the loss of weight so understeer and oversteer are still prevalent when you overdrive the car into the corners. Still, it’s a pretty balanced car with great engine response so a smooth driving style would be a good match for this tuned M3.

As the name implies, the focus of this tune is weight reduction and handling refinements, while keeping the engine fully stock. With significant weight loss, suspension settings, and medium compound tires, the car turns and stops on a dime, making for a very responsive car through the bends. With very minimal engine upgrades, this tune aims to make the really fun to drive 86 suit the Nurburgring. Suspension tuning was the focus of this tune, giving the car more agility to add to its already impressive handling characteristics, as well making the comfort tires grip the road well while still keeping it stable. The relatively underpowered 2-liter engine was also given a slight power boost. It’s not a car that catches attention with fast lap times, it’s just simply a very fun car to drive around the Nurburgring.

Obviously a race car tune, this S2000 conforms to the regulations of the VLN’s SP4 class. Equipped with racing slicks, this S2000 has a lot of grip which allows for steady driving in endurance racing, as well as aggressive driving for time attacks and qualifying sessions. When it comes to the Fit, I really wanted to keep it NA as much as possible. Just be careful on the throttle while turning, as too much power will spin the front tires and cause understeer. The car's good for 450PP events, and it easily got me gold in a few race and time trial seasonals.

Tuner Notes

A bit of a pain in the ass to tune since SH tires on this were so sensitive to the LSD. I couldn’t really find the balance I was looking for with the diff so I opted for a setup that spins less but understeers with too much throttle. Cornering response is good but I think the diff really defined the handling characteristics of the car. It’s not as maneuverable as the DC5, but I’ve tried this car before on better tires and the FD2 is a good car, I just don’t think it works that well with the SH tires.

With the 1.6L engine bumped up to 250HP and weight reduced a further 100kg, this racing car boasts an amazing power to weight ratio and superb handling. Even with slick race tires, it still requires a very smooth driving style as the rear-biased weight distribution is easily prone to oversteering going over uneven track surfaces and kerbs.

Twin Ring Motegi Road Course Race Tune

(co-developed with @DGTR)

Description
Twin Ring Motegi's Road Course is a track full of hard braking zones towards slow corners to go along with the several straightaways, requiring a balanced setup to get a good lap time. The transmission is geared short to give it better acceleration along the straights, while the suspension and differential are tuned to give the car its much needed agility in the turns. Front downforce is maxed out to give the car better front grip in the turns as well as aid in slowing the car down during hard braking. Finding the latest braking point while carrying the most speed you could through the turns without going off into the gravel traps is the key to getting a fast lap around the Motegi Road Course.

Is your Elise a replica? If not you might find its a bit less twitchy on SS tires. At least that's what I found on my Elise.

As for the Elise, it's not a replica but it definitely is twitchy on RH. I actually played with SS at first but settled with RH just because it's a bit more challenging to tune. Tuning RH on road cars is a bit tricky since the wheels tend to get overloaded so easily.

True that. The back needs to be stiff enough to handle the tires but soft enough to not cause snap over steer. It is a very fine line with the Elise that I haven't been able to find yet.

Even my Elise is very tail-happy, especially on the faster turns, I just set it up so that it can handle the slower corners nicely without giving the rear out.
