I really like mine...ff is good, alcantara rim is nice, and the adjustability is great. Wish it worked with Xbox for forza, but we can't have everything, I suppose.

Stock clamp sucks, hardmount it or get the clubsport clamp.

Yes. Good wheel. Better than logitechs but not as good as thrustmaster but it's cheaper so it depends whether you have the budget.

I agree with the others and let me second that the built in table clamp is terrible. Honestly, I think it is unusable. A little more from my point of view:

Rim: The thickness of the rim is a little too much for me and actually I do not like the alcantera material (but I think I am the exception). The grippy, rubberized T500 and DFGT feel better to me.

FFB: Is very smooth and maybe a little too smooth. I like the direct feeling of the DFGT even though the DFGT's FFB is just not as good overall. The T500 has that direct feeling and better FFB overall. :)

It is a nice wheel and I have enjoyed it. The table clamp was a real headache for me though.

I have it and I enjoy it.

Rim is amazing, 30cm diameter with great thickness and great feel due to Alcantara. FFB is smooth and quite realistic but weak (meaning it won't rip your arms off). ClubSport Pedals are amazing (need I say more?) so CS Edition is the one to go for. Shifter is nice with a great resistance.
The wheel does have a plastic feel and that's it's only drawback for me, it's a great wheel.

It's better than Logitech wheels but worse than T500RS (if you take only the base/wheel) but I find GT3 RS CSE to be a much better overall package than T500RS.

Oh, and I must note that the wheel isn't fit for endurance races and that paddle shifters are buttons with extensions, not real paddles.

I have a G27 right now, and the main drawback for me is that I cannot make rapid hand over hand motions because the wheel moves so slowly. Also, it doesn't return to center quickly enough to ever let go of the wheel while racing to let it go back to center, as you would do in a real car.
Does the GT3 RS work better in either of these two things? I would think the belt driven FFB would help with that but I have never used a fanatec so I have no idea...

Goshin: To answer your question:

I have the GT2, which has very similar internals to the GT3 RS (except it also has XBox support, something to really consider if purchasing a new wheel because Forza 4 is a very nice addition to any simracer's collection).

These models of Fanatec wheels have quite a lot of turning resistance by default. If you used one with default settings you'd think it was considerably slower to turn than a G25/27. However, if you set spring and damper on wheel to -3 and enable drift mode (which uses the motor to assist in spinning the wheel in quite effective ways without feeling strange) then it does change considerably. I'm playing Forza 4 most at the moment, but I quite often flick the wheel and let it spin and catch it while correcting slides. Then again, if I compare that to how I spin my G25 when playing DiRT 3 on the PC (with wheel weight set to 0 for maximal spinability) I'd say the Fanatec isn't hugely different.

So I doubt you'd really find a GT3 RS to be any faster than your G27.

I'd also say that often the limiting factor is damping forces being applied within software to simulate not being able to turn the wheel quickly (i.e. simulating certain levels of power steering). In many games you can change this setting in software: e.g. all Codemasters stuff, rFactor/Simbin sims, etc...

I've tried GT3RS for 2 days a few months back

I'm a bit frustated by some lag between wheel turning and reaction on GT5.
I dont know maybe I can't get the setup correctly.

Strange, I've never noticed any lag between my DFGT, G25 or Fanatec GT2 when running GT5.

Did you test on the same TV settings as normal? Lag is often caused by incorrect settings on the HDTV, for instance not putting it into Game Mode.

I've had one for a while, they do run a little warm, so make sure the fans are set to kick in when you turn it on and not after it gets hot. (Instructions for doing so are in manual).

I actually installed an Antec Computer case fan on the top of an extra wheel housing I got, runs cool as a cucumber now.

Never had a problem with lag in GT5.

I really like the feel of the rim, after having personally tried out a friend's CSR wheel, I prefer the GT3s feel.

Also you can program different settings into the wheel for different games or different cars. I use one setting for FGT, Ferrari F1, and x2010/x2011, and another for all other cars.

Table clamps included do not work too well unless you have a table top/surface that is within vary narrow dimensions. Best is to hard mount but take care not to over tighten or you can strip out the threads.

I think its pretty good for the money, although Fanatec did have to replace a faulty one for me. (They did so quickly with minimum hassle).

I use it with CSPs mounted on Rennsport V.1 Wheel Stand.

I agree with these points. The GT3 feels more like a "real" car than the G25/G27, but the Alcantara covering, thickness of the wheel rim & the smoothness of the FFB (none of them "negatives" per se), give a less robust, visceral feel (than the Logitech wheels), which somehow, to me, feels less appealing when driving non-road cars.

I will say, that overall, the GT3 offers great value for the money.

I just got the GT3RS V2 a few weeks ago and love it. I do have a concern that I'm wondering if any other wheel owners could chime in with.

I find it very hard to correct oversteer with the wheel. I can't really save the car once I start to lose it and usually end up over correcting when it's already too late. I see lots of youtube videos of G27 owners sliding around all over the place (in control) and it appears that they are able to "flick" the wheel to counter the oversteer and bring the car back in control. My question is are my settings ideal to give me the best change to do this with the fanatec? Part of me wonders if I should have gotten the G27 instead because it looks like it's much easier to correct oversteer with it (I don't know if that's actually true since I haven't used the G27 ever)

Obviously the number one thing is to practice (throttle and brake control seems to be a big factor when I start to oversteer) but just curious if there's anything else I can do. I also pretty much drive my RUFs in GT5 85% of the time when I play, which I know isn't making it any easier on me ha.

Note: These settings are what I've found to work so far since owning the wheel (3 weeks) but will happily accept suggestions.

Sen: 900
FFB: 100
SHO: 100
Drift: 2
Lin: 30 (sometimes 10 if i put deadzone on and drift on 1)
dEA: 0 (10 if I turn down Lin)
SPr: -3
dPr: -3

EDIT: Wheel settings in GT5 are Force Feedback 10, Driving set to Simulation (other options are Arcade and Professional)

Thanks,
Kevin
