anyone else completely underwhelmed with GT6?...

How come that wasn't true before GT6 was released? The former GT5 fanboys now use the arguments which they fought so hard against, to defend GT6. I'm sure when GT7 is released you'll be the first one here to say how good it is because GT6 was so bad.
Lifeless: GT5's physics (to me). Too serious: Not enough fun and events didn't have enough variety, only online was fun (to me). GT-Like: GT5 didn't capture that spirit like the classic GTs due to it feeling rushed (again, to me). GT5 did got better thanks to the updates, but than it made it into a mess with bugs and glitches added in.

Even if GT7 came out, I wouldn't say GT6 will be bad, except for graphics. Gameplay and spirit of GT is what I'll be looking for in GT7.

So have fun waiting for all I care, because you won't be hearing me say it, period.

In regards to the original post, I don't believe physics are GT6's biggest problem, in fact, personally speaking, the physics will be the only reason why I bothered getting the game at all.

I don't think he was complaining about not being able to make time online. I think he was complaining about you telling him to make some time online if he wanted to enjoy the game. It seems everyone else who has responded is able to understand this.

Like I said earlier...."First World Problems". Can't please everyone.

I'm really glad your life is perfect & everything works the way you want it to, but don't presume to know anything about mine. You saying that all I need is time management makes me pretty 🤬 angry. I'll not be discussing anything more with you. Enjoy your super-fit perfection

My life perfect and everything works....lol. Not even close. But God is good and life is good, so I'm good.

Lololololololol, I had to stop reading there hahahaha. Most of the problems people discuss hers has nothing to do with sucking at the game. The big problem is the game being to easy! Grinding all your way to get 20 mil against braindead AI seems boring to alot of us.

I simply just play the game at 120 or so PP LESS than what the race has required.

Imagine if you would have to play with the worst teams in FIFA otherwise you would win from Man U or Barcelona with 7-0 each time. I think people would laugh with any other game that would force you to do this if you want a challenge, and rightly so.

Well, I don't play soccer games. So, if I did and that was the case, I might find it welcoming (that is if I wasn't any good at playing soccer games). Same could be said for those who aren't that good at racing games but would like to give GT6 a try. They don't want to feel like the game is to hard for those people. For those that find it easy, we can simply just downgrade our vehicles to make it more challenging. It's a bit easy, but after just running the minimalist of upgrades on my car, I still get that "on the verge of defeat" feeling still. I like to be on the edge of defeat, so that's why I do it. Some other series I don't have to do that, but having to do that isn't that big of a deal since the end result is the same.

What's soccer? i was talking about football :D
I have only one word for GT's "chase the rabbit from the back, but first pass all the turtles" formula and it's AI: Lame!
If they want a five year old to also have fun, put in a difficulty slider with "easy" for god's sake.

People who are bad at football games will just put the difficulty at 'very easy'. No need to gimp yourself. Every other racegame has a difficulty setting.

Exactly.
On another topic, having football being called soccer is so lame, man. Only in USA it is called that way. Perhaps some american here can explain what the word "soccer" means exactly.

Well our american friends already have their own football; you know where they use their hands... Wait.. i'm confused here :D

I'm very underwhelmed with the in-game content. Given that this is still an early version (1.01), I expected a more complete game as I played. Having done all licenses and golded all special events/missions with cleaning up of other events to do, there's little to nothing to do in this game at the moment.

I know GT games since GT5 are always being updated since release, but it's just underwhelming to me at this point. I sincerely hope that the (hopefully imminent) future updates add so much more content to the game. There is barely enough reward credits to get a regular player by unless they had the Anniversary cars, which is basically your own "complete the game kit".

That set of cars can clean out most of the events within the game. I do have these cars, but I did not use them even once during my playthrough and I barely scrounged up enough credits to purchase cars & tuning upgrades specifically for game completion. I have not been able to impulse-buy or purchase a car for myself yet, which is just terrible.

I'm hoping I can get my money's worth out of this game when Christmas time comes, otherwise I'll be disappointed for the first time at the Gran Turismo series...

How do you guys finish that quickly? LMAO! I'm done with Goodwood that's it I'm still behind in career mode and find it impossible to finish as fast as you people do.

LOL! I just started national A career mode and haven't played any coffee breaks or one race whatever it's called and that one other thing.

Yea I still have yet to do any One Make races. I just finished the Coffee Drift Break and the Ferrari 458 one with the cones....lol. I got Gold in both of course.

I think maybe the best way to rate gt6 is if we compare the game to its direct competition, what do you all think? For $60 you can buy gt6 or Forza5 for Xbox or iRacing subscription or Rfactor for PC or a glut of racing games for PS3? The direct comparison to how the cars handle(ie physics)graphic resolution, playability, enjoyment, and my favourite simulation ,all must play a role in which one you buy.We would all love to go race $1,000,000 cars on racetracks around the world but that ain't happening so let's buy a game and try, right, which one gives the best rendition of what we THINK it must feel like?I gotta say I love it when reality meets simulation and you find out real race drivers play sims in their spare time good for promotion don't you think thus good for buisiness as well? After playing F1 2013 ps3 and gt6 ps3 you then must try iRacing or Rfactor on PC and decide for yourselves.Me thinks PD have got every set up in their office and like formula one for real try to outdo the competition by stealing every great asset from each other,gt6 is just the latest offering in an ongoing war of oneupmanship till Forza6 comes out or iRacing patches up,whichever sim gives the best rendition wins or whoever markets the best?Don't fall for smoke and mirrors buy the best quality racing game you can get, personally if I race online I love it when after the race ends each driver has a story to tell and wants to reboot up and do it again forget Ai race humans online for some GREAT racing, what do you think race fans?

Like I said earlier...."First World Problems". Can't please everyone.
They should use that as a box quote, then noone would complain ever again.

That or "may require online play to get the best from the game."

There's nothing wrong with people enjoying GT6, but PD can do so much better and they just re release the same game over and over again, cashing in on the formula.

0 feedback has been taken into account by them apart from updating those menus...

Not much different than the same people on here who talk about Playing Shift 2 with a steering wheel rather than a controller. They gloated in another thread about how awesome and better Shift 2 was and you just needed a steering wheel to make use of the Horrid handling in that game....

Mention my name at least if you are referring to me. Controller works fine on the Xbox, tried it the days before i set up my wheel. I heard the game just doesn't work on PS3 with the lag problems on that platform, but apart from that there's just as much possibilities to set everything up better.

Now that we are talking about the difference with GT6, Shift 2 is a complete and exciting racing game, whilst GT6 can only throw it's physics model in the balance. That people have to use online then to have some fun ok, but the racing in the game itself isn't worth staying awake for...

I didn't think you were the only one who said that, so I didn't feel the need to name names.

The funny thing I found out about Shift 2 though was that the Online was the opposite of the AI and GT6's Online to AI relationship. When I plaid online in Shift 2, the people I came across were horrible drivers and the AI in Shift 2 stuck with me. GT6 is a bit opposite in that aspect. What all this really boils down to though is preference. And in preferences, there is no right or wrong.

The latest update with the bump in credit payouts is very welcoming. I can now sit easier knowing I don't have to spend all my money on either modding a car or purchasing the next one I have on my list. I can get enough to do both.

Ok then, i'm putting my shirt back on :D
I think the online thing with Shift might be due to this game not being very well known as a "wannabe sim racer".
Many of the GT and FM crowd probably pulled their noses up about considering it as a possible contender when it was released (including myself), as it is branded under the Need for Speed franchise, and we all know those games for being arcadey.

Majority of copies sold probably ended up in the collection of NFS kids; which would explain the bad driving online. As I'm an offline player I'm really enjoying the races with the AI tough. But yeah you're right it is the other way around with GT6 then.
