So far I dislike 6 and prefer 5.
You do know there is a big diffrence to online and offline? What you're saying is; "screw you" to people that come home from work and just want to do some quick competive races, in a car he wants to drive and when he wants to drive. You can't do that online.
If I could pause the race every 5 minutes, sure - but you can't do that online can you? So no I can't actually.

How long do you take to find a descent room? Not being critical just wondering as it always seemed a tedious task to me to set up or find an online race to your liking.
Offline suits the pick up and play factor a bit better if you have like only half an hour to spare.
Sounds good to be honest; (also the mention of your Le Mans rooms, as it's my favourite track also), but i suppose these are reserved for the obligation free nights, more than that hour you've got to yourself (as everyone of the club needs to be online). You'll have to wait for me a couple of months tough as i don't wanna spend more than 20 bucks on GT6.MD - I'm a constant host. I rarely look for rooms. I usually host rooms for hours and hours on end when I'm not at the office or working on a big project. It's a blast because I always race with my friends and friends of their friends who are all good drivers. I'm really ELMS/ALMS heavy so there are a lot of LMP's, GT cars, and sometimes GT500 cars in my rooms. I've found that there are a lot of people that only want to race STREET and I do that sometimes too. I love variety and I love having a good time enjoying my fav hobby, which is driving this "game". My rooms are usually labeled something with the words "Le Mans or Sarthe" in them, but that is not indicative of where we'll always be. Sometimes I we will take a break for a while and just run SHUFFLES and variety races for the hell of it to break away from the adrenaline required to run multilap Le Mans races at speed. Granted I haven't been able to do any of this in GT6 yet as I'm driving and "re-earning" my stripes again, but once I do, you're more than welcome. Add me up!![]()
WHY?
Why not? You can't click the Lobby rather than an event? Besides my comment was in reference to being online (this forum) talking about not having time to race online. You are wasting time chatting on here when you could be playing the game. Then again, if you are at work you are just SOL, unless you have a position that allows you to work from home. I'll be at home and take a lunch break and play GT6 while eating my lunch.
Sounds like you need some "you" time. How can you have an opinion on something though when you haven't explored all of it's possibilities?
ye but dont expect the seasonal events will give you the same value now with micro transaction we already have a seasonal event go check the pay outsHowever it wasnt until the "Seasonal Events" were applied in GT5 did we all start grinding with actual value to our credit pocketsRemember the first Ferrari race seasonal event? 2 laps + another 2 laps...Milli!
I don't even have GT6 yet and prefer 5 due to the feedback. I'm in fear this GT won't really shine till spring 2014. I pray i'm wrong though. So far I dislike 6 and prefer 5.
I agree, I feel exactly the same way!Wow, I couldn't disagree more with a lot of people here. GT6 is such a breath of fresh air after GT5. While there are some problems that GT6 barely fixed like the paint chips and AI, it's overall just a much better package.
The biggest thing that stands out for me is the single player. No more time wasted car hunting in the UCD. I can buy what I want whenever I have the money. It has more interesting events than GT5 and the career mode itself feels longer. Speaking of which, the star system works well unlike the broken level system in GT5. It doesn't get in the way of my progress. I can go on about this subject.
There are other things too that I appreciate like the better UI, the faster loading times, and my personal favorite, no more silly animations when washing your car or changing oil. I wish I had more time to talk about why I feel this game got more things right than GT5 did. But the bottom line is, GT6 is having a significantly better first impression on me than GT5, and I'm glad it can only get better.
When you play with a DS3 the game can get boring quick, get a wheel in your life and GT becomes the most amazing racing game you'll ever play. I played so much last night my arms are hurting. I had to make up some excuse at work.. I couldn't tell them i spent 8 hours last night racing around in a video game lol.
Umm...I just turn on my PS3, go online and join a race. It's not rocket science. You obviously don't get it and I'm afraid you never will. You don't just turn on your PS3, go online and have a race. There is a huge difference in online and offline. Having time to write something on a message board has nothing to do with "having time to play online".
It's not like I have never played GT5 online (I don't have GT6 - but I don't need to buy it to know that the offline race formats are the same old single file, start from the back arcade challenge) it is exactly through doing so that I know it is not feasible except very rarely for me to spend any reasonable time playing online without interruption.
The fact is that PD include a bunch of single player content - which is what I am looking for, sadly their content is so bad I don't want it. As I said before though I have a lot of nostalgic love for the series and wish they would fulfill the potential that lies in their original statements of dedication to realism & simulation. Sadly they have been getting less and less real and more & more arcade like in every department except the driving feel. I think I'll be returning to PC racing with Asetto corsa and pcars in the future.

And exactly what is your idea of what Single player mode should be? Are you looking for more of the Kart like racing style, where you start on the grid rather than a rolling start? You mentioned the rolling start, but what else in the way of single player do you have a problem with?

Ok 1st off I didnt come close to reading half of these responses. I made it to page two and just ugh... Im sorry but for all those thats complaining about "real psychics" and all that, like really? Its a game man. Its meant to kill time and to have a lil fun. Nothing more. If you really think a game is going to come anywhere close to driving a REAL car in REAL life, let alone RACING a real car on a REAL TRACK, well, then you got a few more problems then what GT6 is or isnt... I get this is the "feedback" section and all, but its suppose to be feedback on the game as a GAME, not a magic racing for real from your living room couch device. If you really hate the anti-realism in GT6 go play another non arcade style racing game for the PS3. Oh wait, there isnt one. Just enjoy the damn game for what it is, a game. I mean you dont hear CoD or Battlefield players complain how "unrealistic" those games are. Because at least they understand its a game, its meant to be enjoyed, kill a few hours while escaping the harsh realities of everyday life. And yes I have done a lil mild racing in my days. Sure nothing "official" but I have ran at Sebring a handful of times for the fun of it. I used to live a mile from the track, right off of airport road. Matter of fact my sister still works at Hotel Chateu. Anyone whos ACTUALLY been to the track would know what Im talking about. Also when I was an OTR driver I used to pull out of Genpak. I also personally knew Alan Jay. (Yes I know Im name dropping but just to seperate the people whos actually been to Sebring and to the 12 Hours of Sebring from those who just talk). I have ran my personal vehicles at Sebring, along with a Panoz GTR as part of my classes I used to take at SFCC for ASE certification. I used to go there all the time and watch the races, both the 12 hours along with the racing schools down there, and club days. I have also ran at my local 1/4 mile track countless times. Sure I still have pics from the 12 Hours of Sebring when I had pit passes, but I wont bore anyone with them. I dont think anyone cares. Point is I still enjoy Gran Turismo for what it is. A game. I no longer live in FL, however I do live 5 minutes from the dragstrip so if I feel the need for any real racing thats where Ill go. Plus theres plenty of back country roads near me that are a blast to tear up. Otherwise after a long day of work, I sit back, have a "saftey meeting", throw in some Gran Turismo and sit back, relax and have fun. Which is what I recommend everyone should do. If you really love cars you dont nit pick all the lil flaws in a game that Kaz admitted wasnt 100% done, but thanks to everyone snapping about delays, released anyway to please those people, and will continue to have free updates til its in its complete state.
Nope. Pretty much the same to me, except playing with real people. I find a room I want to jump in on and go race. What's there to "get"? Apparently not much seeing as how you just continue to restate that I don't get it, instead of providing examples of how it's Soooo Drastically different or this other world phenomenon.Like I said, you don't get it.
Ideally I want an event to include the option of practice and qualifying and the option of grid start, or even a real rolling start against competitive scalable AI. (oh and always the option of all & any assists off of course) Basically I want a racing game.
The one thing I definitely don't want is an arcade challenge from the back of a grid against terrible rubber banded, dull lifeless AI. Which is not even remotely close to racing.
It looks like I'm not alone either...

They didn't get rushed, 5 years to complete GT5 and then they just build on that same formula so they had 8 years in total and this is the end result of their efforts on PS3...well i think this is like a prologue/full version thing going, with this game. sony rushed them. and i think the stuff will start getting fixed. but the micro trans thing is greed at its worste.
