anyone else completely underwhelmed with GT6?...

Nope. Pretty much the same to me, except playing with real people. I find a room I want to jump in on and go race. What's there to "get"? Apparently not much seeing as how you just continue to restate that I don't get it, instead of providing examples of how it's Soooo Drastically different or this other world phenomenon.

Yeah and you stil don't get it. mr_serious has explained to you why online doesn't work for him but you keep coming with the "I go online and race argument" wich is stupid in this case. There is a difference between picking your favorite car, choosing a track, pressing start and then race. If something besides gaming needs your attention, you just pause the game. You honestly don't see the difference between this and online? What is wrong with someone wanting to do a race in his own time with the settings he wants? Why do I have to explain this to you?

You know how many times I went to join a room in GT5 and just when I get in the race starts? How is that just going online and racing? Now you either wait or find another room with the desired PP settings. Can't you see how annoying this can get when you have 30 to 60 minutes of game time? There is no such thing as doing a quick race in GT when your talking about online.

You don't have to answer because I'm sure you don't get it.

Seriously? You act like mr_serious is the only person in this thread that has kids and priorities. I am a father of 2 boys. Woman, dog, house, job...the whole 9 yards. I have a routine day in and day out that includes even hitting the Crossfit Gym at 3-5 times a week. It's called Time Management. I don't get to play through the weekeday that much until my boys are in bed. And even then my woman may be wanting to watch something. So, spare me the whole "it's so different". There is nothing to get other than he just needs to arrange things to make time...that is if he wanted to.

And a glitch from joining a race and it starting is HARDLY some time consuming issue. Here's a thought....Find another room. Don't make a mountain out of a mole hill. Don't go complain about not being able to race online if you can't make time to. Get some friends, everyone collaborate on a time frame to create an online room to race together in. Instant time saved!

Again, not rocket science.

its just that not all of us can play online so imagine your self playing the game with no online mode ? thats me i cant play online because in my region this game is not popular i barely find rooms there ,for the rest of the rooms are all LAGGY i cant play its very very laggy i have a decent connection its just that im in a region were no people play GT and if i find a room its 1 of 2 : drift or drag racing

and it is time consuming to find a room with your needs / say i want to race with a rally car on a snow track... ye good luck finding that or classic Japanese cars on a certain track ? ect not to mention the time you have to wait untill the leader decides to start the race... so single player is my best friend in this game

That's a totally different situation. That's one that you yourself can't control, unless you move.

Underwhelmed, disappointed, frustrated and getting a headache! Why is the tyre noise so loud? Hour after hour of high pitch tyre squeeling is the only way to hear the engine note. Turn down sound affects and you loose the engine sound. Why is not possible to access the options/sound menu whilst in a championship? Do the first race and think, have to change sound levels but you can't until you've done every race in the championship.
What is this fascination with using R1 and L1 to navigate pages in the menus? Steering wheels don't have them and isn't the GT series supposed to be a simulator?
Why, in car setup, when you adjust power or ballast does the related pp and/or power figures not update on the summary until after you've chosen a level? Such a waste of time guessing incorrectly several times before hitting the number you want.
Also, why in the summary does it not specify torque and power rpms? The graph is there as in GT5 but not the figures, so again you're left guesstimating. I doubt there is a motorsport team anywhere in the world that doesn't know the exact rpms for max power or torque, in order to make the most effective use of the gears. What are PD playing at? They have made gt6 worse than gt5.
There is something very wrong with the handling of some cars. I don't know if it's their new tyre model, all I do know is some cars do not behave in the way that they would in real life. On that subject how can a standard Bugatti Veyron out corner a lemans racer with full downforce with both cars on the same tyres? Take the Indy track as an example. It can't come even close in real life but in GT6 it can do it easily when under AI control! So AI? I think it's about the same as GT5. The cars do not appear to obey any kind of racing etiquette and will move about almost at random and push you off the track without the AI car being the slightest unsettled.
Why are there at least 27 Honda NSXs but no Audi A8/S8 the worlds first all aluminium production car, or BMW M1 or any number of cars with major technological achievements that influenced all future production? The NSX was famous for being a supercar that Granny can drive. Great so have one in the game, but so many duplicates? I have also noticed that information blurb about some cars is incorrect, but it was in GT5 also.I wont be specific on here in public but things like saying the car was developed from a previous model and employs an engine from whichever manufacturer but the model and manufacturer is completely wrong! I am fortunate enough to have owned some gran turismo gems in real life, work in the industry and race for real so I do know my stuff.
I have such a long list of grips with gt6 that I do not enjoy playing it. GT5 had issues but at least it was fun. I played it mercilessly for years and even use it to teach people to drive. Every one of my students has passed first time.
The one thing I can commend GT6 for is the slightly improved lobby where you can specify UK region. However, I miss the quick and simple shuffle race option.
Despite all the gripes I go ahead and play GT6 just to be rewarded by frame rate stutter and artifacts. I swear at one point on one of the new tracks the frame rate goes down to 12 or less frames per second.
It almost feels like the DMC Delorian. They took all the best bits of the mid engined turbo Lotus Esprit and discarded them to come up with a complete white elephant of an underpowered poor handling rear engined car. To me GT6 has done this with GT5. It's a real shame but it does seam that GT has had its day. I wont be rushing out to get the new PS4. I only have playstation for GT. I think I may finally give in and fire up Forza on the new Xbox.

Just my 2 cents, F*&# this game! Real "Driving" Simulator? YES! Real "Racing" Simulator? No! Fun? No! Difficult? No! Extensive amount of content? No! Fixing of issues that have plagued the series? No! But we do have an accurate representation of the moon and night sky! What a game enhancing feature that is!

hahahahahaha, my thoughts exactly.

I don't think he was complaining about not being able to make time online. I think he was complaining about you telling him to make some time online if he wanted to enjoy the game. It seems everyone else who has responded is able to understand this.

I'm really glad your life is perfect & everything works the way you want it to, but don't presume to know anything about mine. You saying that all I need is time management makes me pretty 🤬 angry. I'll not be discussing anything more with you. Enjoy your super-fit perfection

lolololol this thread is full of a bunch whiny babies. HAHAHAHAHA. My god if you suck at this game....its not the game its YOU. Hard to get money? Are you retarded? It's way easy to get money. Ever thought of doing a race more than once lol? This is not a game for someone who wants to "drive around" or for little kids. If you want to just play cars, go get some little ricer kids game like Forza or Need for Speed or some worthless joke of a title along those lines. This is by far one of the best GT games to date. Right up there with GT2. The physics is by far better. This is a DRIVERS game. It's for the fun of driving. Like taking a RE Amemiya RX-7 in the gt300 class. Super fun races right there. Easy money IF you can drive. This is not a game to just sit down and play. It's a bit more involving than that. I'm willing to bet half of you don't play with realistic settings to begin with. EVERYTHING OFF. Microtransactions has NO effect on the game. It's there for the people who are terrible so they just buy the car with money lol. If they had half a brain and actually raced....earning credits.....saving those credits......race some more.....you would quickly find out that its not hard to get a million credits. Hell I have 3 million and that doesn't even include cars I have bought or tuning. Seriously, if you are complaining, you are a joke. This game in my opinion is pretty easy. Basic concepts people. Save and buy. Wait....this is America.....most of our people don't know how to save and rely on the government to give out free stuff. WAAAAA the game just came out and I cant afford a Ferrari WAAAAA. Seriously go cry somewhere else. Amateur hour in here.

Wow, I couldn't disagree more with a lot of people here. GT6 is such a breath of fresh air after GT5. While there are some problems that GT6 barely fixed like the paint chips and AI, it's overall just a much better package.

The biggest thing that stands out for me is the single player. No more time wasted car hunting in the UCD. I can buy what I want whenever I have the money. It has more interesting events than GT5 and the career mode itself feels longer. Speaking of which, the star system works well unlike the broken level system in GT5. It doesn't get in the way of my progress. I can go on about this subject.

There are other things too that I appreciate like the better UI, the faster loading times, and my personal favorite, no more silly animations when washing your car or changing oil. I wish I had more time to talk about why I feel this game got more things right than GT5 did. But the bottom line is, GT6 is having a significantly better first impression on me than GT5, and I'm glad it can only get better.

So a 3 year wait to cut out the UCD, XP system, and oil change animations? That sounds very underwhelming to me.

lolololol this thread is full of a bunch whiny babies. HAHAHAHAHA. My god if you suck at this game....

Lololololololol, I had to stop reading there hahahaha. Most of the problems people discuss hers has nothing to do with sucking at the game. The big problem is the game being to easy! Grinding all your way to get 20 mil against braindead AI seems boring to alot of us.

I was disagreeing with people who thought GT5 was better than GT6.

And I do think GT6 is underwhelming in some areas, like the AI and customization. But despite that, I still think GT6 is an all around much better game than GT5.

Did you not realize what this thread was before you decided to come in here? I suppose that you came in here just to slander and talk crap against the people that ARE dissatisfied with their purchase/experience, since you are not of the same opinion. It is because of trolls like you that forums in general turn into places of large arguments. If you do not agree with the thread, that is fine, EVERY person SHOULD be entitled their own opinion. Although, if your intent is solely on trying to demean the people here and start arguments, then maybe you are best creating your OWN thread involving that topic.

I much prefer GT5 to GT6. No log in bonus. No choice of car to start the game. Ridiculously low payouts for races and the list goes on and on. Plus everything everyone else has said. The only good thing I have found was getting the Anniversary Edition with the 25 cars. I am only playing maybe 2 hours a night where with GT5 it was 6-8 hours everyday. The few good things I can say is Apricot Hill is back and Mount Panorama is a fun drive and my 25 free cars.

So many pessimistic people. What about the physics? New cars? New gameplay modes?

Honestly, GT6 is awesome. It's almost like you guys are completely blind to the things that have been improved.

Well aren't you a ball of sunshine?

So many pessimistic people. What about the physics? New cars? New gameplay modes?

Honestly, GT6 is awesome. It's almost like you guys are completely blind to the things that have been improved.

I don't think it has to do with the new items as much as it has to do with all the other things people are talking about. The "new physics" is a bit of a joke. I have the Bathurst RX7 with spring rates set at 9+, sway bars at 4, 3, dampers at 6 front and rear and my car still rolls back and forth and the tire noise is so loud you can't hear the engine. If that is an improvement I could do without it. My '08 SX4 handles better than my game RX7 that I have spent nearly 200K credits on. I didn't spend anywhere near that on my real life street car and when I go into a turn at 70+ MPH my tires don't screech. I run a stretch of road weekly that has a series of S turns that say 45 MPH and I blow through at 70 with no tire noise and very little body roll.

I just think after all the hype and rumors that were "leaked" about how good GT6 was supposed to be that the general consensus is what you are reading in these posts. People are disappointed and I think we have just as much right to voice our disappointment as you do coming into a thread that is clearly intended for people who are disappointed with what we tossed $65 at. If it had been as big a leap as it was from GT4 to GT5 you wouldn't be hearing all this. The absolute worst thing is the Electric Car races, 6 mind numbing laps of nothing but screeching tires. That's the new physics engine at it's very best.

so many things this game missed the mark on. the FF cars in this game handle nothing like the do in real life. no lift off oversteer AT ALL.the way the grip breaks away is COMPLETELY unrealistic. one minute you have tons of grip, then next millisecond without any warning, you're sideways. you can't lead progressive oversteer into a nice four wheel slide coming out of a corner, and it's ridiculously bad.the framerate tears are also driving me insane.all the cars tend to drive like one another, too…..Gran Turismo has had this problem for a while...the one nice thing I can really say is that the menus and presentation are really nice.

no

yea, I've raced all sorts of karts...anything from 4 stroke flatheads up to 125cc shifter karts. I've autocrossed and tracked all sorts of cars from my old e-stock MR2 on street tires that I used to own, to a 450+hp STi that a friend owned. I've had friend who have let me do track days...street cars ranging from a Scion FR-S and Mini Cooper S, to upper end cars like a Ferrari 355 and fully prepped race cars like a decently slow BMW E30 to a 400hp F-body Camaro. in 2008, I was also one of 53 drivers selected from a pool of over 600 worldwide applicants to take place in a scholarship shootout held by Skip Barber down in Sebring, FL. I was racing against the likes of Conor Daly and Josef Newgarden that day, and was less than a second off their pace...it sounds like a lot, but that was the first time I'd ever seen those cars or that track...they, on the other hand, had done more races in those cars than I have in anything up until that point. plenty of the judges (grandam champs, ex-IMSA champs, ex-F1 drivers) all had nice things to say about me, on top of showing the necessary car control to hang the ass out at 130mph when going into turn 17.

I know how to drive, and I know what is expected from a car. this game has been pretty underwhelming with the physics and how cars are supposed to react on the limit. any more questions about my abilities?

Do you mind me asking your name? If you've raced with the likes of Josef and Conor (Quite good friends of mine) I'm fairly certain I will know you as well!
To all the people giving this guy a bunch of hate. Please stop. What he's saying is almost entirely true about the physics of the game. This is only a guess of mine but, I am assuming most of the game testing is probably coming from the GT academy guys who have started out as ordinary people. Thus, when they move into race cars, they take their experience from a Simulator and from low speed daily driving and compare it to a Race car. This will give you the exaggerated loss of grip that we see in GT6.

In find GT6 to be a total lateral move from GT5, simply adding a few squealing tire effects, hopped up graphics and a new interface that is horrible.

There is no new content, or anything that makes the "A-spec" mode fun. I am now basically reset and grinding out credits so I can attempt to buy cars for the online racing... the only thing that is fun and dynamic. After playing hours I have little to no credits, and I am left bored out of my mind. It is like they are trying to bait you into buying credits to purchase cars so you can go have fun.

As usual, the AI is ridiculously bad, and the races far from a challenge. The license tests are now a complete joke... a 5 year old could get golds.

The physics of course have gotten better, or "feel" better, but this is a game, and it is far from reality. Just try going into a corner at 100 mph and slamming the brakes while turning and tell me what happens... you won't hit the apex like you do in this game all the time, but you will hit the wall or find yourself looking the wrong direction. Also, missing apexes and scrubbing speed are far from realistic... you always see online players totally missing the mark but coming out of the corner just as fast or faster than you hitting the mark.

Anyway, I am bored of the game after about 10 hours of play and don't feel like grinding so I can go play online. I refuse to pay real money so I can go buy cars... the game will end up costing hundreds of real dollars.

They should allow you to transfer your GT5 to GT6 so you don't have to grind. The game is a fail.

Divorce that 🤬 , and look for a descent racing game. She's not worthy of your time or money as there are many nice alternatives out there and many in the pipeline also.

all you have to do is enter the like the wind special stage route x in a fully tuned huayra and watch the replay and you will see the ABSOLUTE AWESOMENESSSSSSSS OF THIS GAME, ESPECIALLY IN 1'ST PERSON VEIW! you wont belive how much motion blurr 500kmh creates!

I can't believe how many people are claiming GT6 is boring and that GT5 is better. It seems like people are purposely finding things to be pessimistic about. As for me, I'm not left with an underwhelming feeling with GT6. I quite like the game, despite it's flaws. GT6 has that GT atmosphere to it that GT5 just didn't quite capture correctly.

GT5 had its flaws and had its good points.

I would say there is less to do in GT6 the UCD is a huge disappointment and the ability to trade is shocking no more wheeling and dealing to get the car you want.

Car psyics maybe more accurate but seems as if not on all cars some go into coreners like dead weights and others have brake balance issues.

Performance points are totaly off the mark too and really needs to be addresses.

Tuning has been messed up too.

These can all be fixed but how quickly they do it will be the make or break of gt6.

I hate to say this, but i think people are missing the point with the lack of lift off oversteer and torque steer. Both are like horsepower, they are functions of something else (hp is RPMXtorque so the torque being produced at a certain RPM gives you the horsepower figure) If there is no lift off oversteer in the game, which is a function of weight transfer and there is no torque steer which is a function of torque transfer in the drivetrain and suspension modeling, then the physics system is not better than GT5 and it's certainly not better than something like Forza even. It is a sign that there is something very wrong with, or there is something large missing from the physics model. I own both PS3 and Xbox and have spent a fair amount of time wheeling an xbone at a mates on Forza 5 and I say here, now, Forza right now pretty much has the most comprehensive, or consistent I should say, physics system of any console racer. Whether it is a limitation of understanding of how to code such physics at PD, or an issue with fidelity brought about by the hardware limitation of the console, TL:DR it ain't right.

If things like Rufs are near undriveable but other cars feel great then it smells to me of the game being tweaked to drive great with certain layouts of transmission/engine but not with others, and it not really having a proper active physics model that can emulate a relatively accurate facsimile of driving with any car based on a series of entered numerical values. Which is what a game desperately needs when it is trying to simulate the driving experience of over 1200 cars.

Regardless of any other bugs in the game, this is a game breaker for me.

As I said before, I just feel that people wants to whine for the sake of it. I can understand the AI and sounds being underwhelmed but OH BROTHER, how can you say GT5 is better than GT6, it just makes me scratch my head thinking if these people are serious... GT6 has brand new physics, better career mode with great variety, faster menus, easy UI to navigate through, all cars in the dealership, brand new cars and tracks, the list goes on. GT6 is also more funner than GT5 because GT5 felt lifeless, too serious and non GT-like for crying out load! Well guess what? I will love to see the same people who say GT5 is still better than GT6, when GT6 becomes even more great down the road via the updates.
