I voted "no", because they should have ditched all those ****** K-Cars, <60hp cars and all the clones. Most people don't care about those anyway. That would have given them more time to make more premium cars. I'd rather have 4 or 500 cars that are the same great quality, then 1000 cars, of which 80% have no cockpit view and are useless for racing anyway.

I'm disappointed in the lack of *all cockpits* but not surprised as it would be a huge amount of work even if they did get all the interior info when they did GT4 (which I suspect they didn't). I'm sure PD have done their best within the time and budget and I'm also sure that the staff at PD will be spending the next few months working ridiculous hours finishing things off. There have been a lot of new things to be pleased about as well - the number of cars, physics, general graphics level, head tracking and so on. There is no other game to compare to it IMHO.

To me the most important things are the physics, force feedback and AI and they are all looking good - maybe not perfect but they never could be. In the last year I've been playing Forza 3, rFactor and iRacing but I'm looking forward to pushing them all to the side to play GT5 from November onwards.

Gran Turismo 5 is going to be awesome!

(I just hope there is more than 20 tracks! :scared:)

I am happy about the Premium cars. 200 premium cars is a lot and the 800 standard cars are a nice bonus. They look better than they did in GT4, the only reason why standard cars look worse is because we have been shown the extremely detailed premium cars. A good way to think of it is, the 200 premium cars are GT5, while the 800 cars are there as a tribute to previous GT games. By the way, do you think they may bring back some GT2 cars in 'standard' form? (obviously made to look good). I would like to drive a Nissan Pulsar GTI-R.

I'm with TokyoDrift on this one. I find it perfectly good 200 cars in a game in such detail. What I cannot comprehend is the inclusion of lower quality cars in the same game.

In resume, I'd rather prefer a GT5 with "only" 200 cars (all premium) than what we are (apparently) getting (200 premium + 800 standard)

I have to agree on this one. But there are many who still want the standard cars, and I respect their opinion.

200 cars is actually alot. I've played all the GT games and generally use less than 20 cars consistently. Even car collectors have something to go after (and with the standard cars those are yet more "trophies" to collect).

All that being said I see massive opportunities for DLC in this area.

I understand its a little weird to split cars like this... but i dont see how can 200P cars be better than 200P+800S cars. Simply ignoring the S cars is a perfectly valid option if you dont like them but im pretty sure most people will buy the Countach anyway even tho its shown as S (which is a mystery btw since its a new car...)

Would I have liked more? yes.

But I'm content with 200 cars that are detailed even down to the wires.

Hell, I was even happy with GT3's 150 regular cars.

I'm not happy with two standards for cars but 200 is still a lot of cars and is more than GT3 had and that game wasn't lacking in variety of cars.

The more I think about this, the more acceptable it is! The extreme detail on the premium cars just makes it so much more fun to dig deep with them! And as others have said the 800 extra is just a bonus! Now, what do troubles me is the SOUND!! Did you guys listened to the video showing standard cars?? I really hope this is not representative of the final product!

In terms of cockpit and interior view, makes no odds to me. However, I do think it was a dumb move on their part to split the game like this. 500 great looking cars with near identical features is better than 1000 cars where 80% of them don't even look as good as those in Forza 3.

So you can make this statement simply by looking at some pictures? Whatever happened to...i don't know. Playing the game?

And here's a link that says you shouldn't worry so much about the standard cars. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=128468&page=13
" If you think that the past cars will look like hand-me-downs from the past GT PS2 games, trust me, your wrong. Each of the standard cars take every single graphical advantage of the PS3."

I'm happy about the 200 premium models, but they're in no way going to stop me from using the other 800. I'm just happy that the game is so close to being released. :D

I don't mind that only 200 will have everything. I can only race well in roof veiw (is that gone or not?), so I really won't be inside the car much. Only every now and then to see it.

The concept of 'Premium' and 'Standard' is a bit ridiculous to me. I can understand that it takes blood, sweat, and tears to model each car. I get the feeling that they just threw in cars from past GT's just get the idea of having 1000 cars. The standard cars don't look nearly as good as the premium cars. I mean it looks obvious. I got the feeling that it will hurt and take away from the game.

PD's statement on having 1000 cars was really misleading. Didn't expect 80% of the content to be ported and upscaled from past GT's.

PD still has done an outstanding job on this game and I would like to thank them for car reminisce but this is very upsetting to me.

How would you guys feel if they scrapped 800 standard cars? I mean 200 premium cars is a lot to begin with.

I am disappointed that cars are being treated differently as I think all cars are equal no matter their speed, looks or anything else. Anyhow, I hope PD make the standard cars look at least par with GT5P so that people don't think of this as a step in the wrong direction. I am still happy that there will be 1000 cars and all of them will handle realistically which is the point of THE REAL DRIVING SIMULATOR.

You don't get it. That's never gonna happen, because the GT5P cars are premium cars, and it would take another decade for PD to model every car to that detail. :)

I'm fine with 200 premium car and I'm sure that PD will give us more Premium cars with future DLC!!give me more tracks like Spa,Mugello...and it will be the best racing game ever!!

Haha you are right.

I was just wondering Suzuki Swift sport in GT5P has cockpit view and it will also be in GT5. Only premium cars will have cockpit ? Does that mean it is premium car ?

If that is premium car then almost all Mercedes, Ferrari, BMW and other supercar, sports car have to be premium as well

I'll mostly drive the premiums anyway, so I'm happy.
I only have one question, are these premium or standard cars?

To be honest, I was never upset about anything of the game. Kaz put nearly everything we wanted into it! As long as the game has a couple of Nissan Silvia, Standar or Premium, and ONLINE I will be the happiest person. Evahr.

Clearly premium. With the standard cars, you can not see through the windows; so all you see inside the car is a generic black silhouette for the interior, just like in GT4. If you can clearly see the driver and the coloring on the helmet, its a premium car.

So which is it? You can't see through or you can? With standard cars you can see through the windows.
The cars above are premium since you can see them in the E3 video listed as premium
