Anyone else surprised the BMW E30 is on the top at the feedback section?

But here's a question for the people, Apex in particular, what if PD did include this car in the game but it wasn't perfect. Like the same errors FM has, would you still want to enjoy the car in the game or you'd rather they just leave it out?

Not possible. PD laser-scan their cars, so the oval lamps couldn't happen. Alas, if they make a PD-typical error and write V8 on the back, I'll still enjoy it :D

Seriously, I don't really think it's gonna come along, but if it does, I'll enjoy it.

When it comes to man and computers anything is possible, but the question wasn't would that happen the question was IF it were to happen would people not enjoy the car because of it.

Personally it wouldn't make a difference for me in this game as it is now. I can't do anything with the replays anyway so it wouldn't affect my movie making and I drive from the cockpit view only.

Not at all, what I'm most surprised about, is the fact that the e30 is not in the game, and the lack of BMW's... Besides the Miata, the e30 is one of the most popular road racing/autocross cars in the world. I have owned many vehicles ranging from pos turbo fwd Mopar's, 5.0 mustangs, Si Honda's, a Volvo 850R, Nissan 240sx sr20, ect, the list goes on... I'm very diverse, and love all makes and models for what they are, I can respect each car for its own qualities. However, BMW has got it nailed. In my opinion, there is simply not another car manufacturer that can ace the connection from the steering wheel to the road. I've never driven an e30 m3, but have had the pleasure of driving many early model M cars, e36's, e34's, e28's, and i regularly track my e30 and e34 ...that to me is the definition of a car. I currently own a super rare e34 540 6spd (1 of 7) and a very low mileage e30 325is which has become my daily driver. I wouldn't care if the modeling of the car is slightly off, who freaking cares??? lol... Its a video game, but i do think these cars deserve a little more love given there racing history. The BMW crowd, at least the dudes that own the older stuff like me, LOVE their cars, almost border line obsession as my gf puts it, but that's what makes us gearheads... Some pics of my IRL BMW's i currently own

im not surprised at all, its a great car. my dad had one and he loved it, always tells me what a great car it was :)

Ok, not to rain on you guys BMW parade, lol, but when I lived in Germany the germans used to call BMWs "sh.. cars". They really didn't have a high regard for them. At least most of the germans that I knew. This was in the late 80s. I saw alot of first hand evidence to what they were talking about. I guess they righted the ship since then.

I'm hearing whispers from a few friends in the industry but are around 70% right, that EA and Turn10 have been looking at what cars/manufacturers (and tracks for that matter) are missing and most desired to be seen in GT to actively buyout exclusive licensing like EA have done with Porsche to effectively block the possibility of them appearing in GT... can someone with better sources confirm this as fact?

I hope like hell not. I hope no track or manufacturer go that route. The age of exclusive licenses is coming and it will kill games. F' that weak stuff and just make the game speak for itself. I hate companies going this route.

Same here, it would make more sense to sell on the license to make profit as a business.

Sounds like a preemptive excuse for GT lacking stuff, in my opinion.
Personally, I doubt it.
And with the money Sony has available as a company, they should win every 'license buy out contest'.

Hey Mr. Apex I took your BMW for a trip down memory lane. Like I said I haven't drove that car in over a year, and it'll probably be another year before I drive it again. Man the oversteer is something serious in that car. lol. It was rough riding for sure. Had to get back in the flow of it, well I had to get a new flow since I was driving it the wrong way way back when. lol

You've posted that pic already. Why not posting something new instead? :sly:

Are you sure. I don't recall posting this pic here ever. I could be wrong but I don't think so. You may be thinking about the video.
Hey say what you want about FM3 but that's how that car drives in the game in this video you posted.
Man Kaz has to get this car in the game. It would be fun to drive in GT5 as well. AND I WANT COCKPIT OR DON'T BOTHER!!!!!

Hey to each their own, if that was your feeling then that's what it is for you. Not everyone is going to experience the same thing. I felt the opposite of what you're feeling. Probably because GT5 does such a lackluster job using the Fanatec wheel's fully abilities. Even those in the group I race with feel on opposite ends of it. Thank god they make more than one game.

The real pic of the BMW looks more like the BMWs in my video than the pic you posted. I see the body mods you're talking about, but we weren't racing with that as is clearly evident in the video. Here's an old pic of my car in the race. Don't see all the stuff that you're talking about. Looks basically like the real thing. Might be hard to see with the custom livery I had but those with the lighter custom liveries in the video you can see didn't have all that stuff on it.

I was hoping the car would be in GT5 also to recreate that series, or just run a race or two with these cars as a "historic race". But alas it's not to be.

Just a reminder. Hope this will be the last time I have to look at these distorted headlamps. ;)

Don't worry you wont have to see those distorted headlamps every again, hell you wont have to see the car ever again. But if you ever get the urge to see this iconic BMW in a videogame again just let me know, Forza will be standing by to accommodate. ;)

Maybe if the creator of GT was European I'd think we'd see more Euro cars in the game. /sarcasm

But really, I'd love to see the E30 and E36 M3's in the game. Even the M1. Don't even care if they're Premium or regular or DTM, I want to see them in the game. It would be nice to add all the generations of the 3 and 5 series in the game. I've driven every generation of M3 and I have to say they're quite a machine.

I'd really like a Porsche/Other Company 944 though.

I guess I'll just put another vote down for the E30. Yeah, I've added multiple votes from multiple PCs, I'll admit it.

Sue me for being an e(30)vil mastermind, if you like :D

I was referring to t.o.'s signature, so yes, we are.
Okay, I misses that :D
Granted, I wouldn't be too suprised to see someone saying stuff like that for real ;)

LOL, No while this game is simply "one of my babes" he's chosen to "marry her". So I'm just "foolin' around" with her.

Its like number 4 in my top 10 car garage, no surprises. The only surprise I got was when I clicked on BMW the day I got GT5.

I mean they added the 190e evo (another great car) but forgot the E30 M3.

I think it's sad the Forza-racer gets the cars they want, while the GT5-racer only gets duplicate S2000s, Supras and Skylines and barely anything new compared to GT5p and GT4..

That's a really nice color. 👍 Dang, I always wanted a 318is E30 … light, rev-happy due to 4 valves per cylinder, timing chain instead of belt, M-Technic suspension included, has it all. Instead I had a 325e, then a 325i Touring, a 318 Touring, a 325i Touring and 318 Touring E30.

Now I finally have more or less the 318is engine … it's just mounted in the wrong car (but the weight is the same).

Don't wait too long with that rust, go ahead and get it done! ;)

Edit: Back on Topic: It's ugly, but I'd like to drive that E30 V8 engine swap around the Nordschleife …
