Im so lazy!

B-spec was the worst thing that happened to me. It's too easy to just hit the b-spec race and come back a bit later to collect the prize.

Thank god its not all b-spec! Still got the spec. conditons.

So, you're the complete opposite of some, trying to do the entire game in B-spec?! :dopey:

When I finish this game In A-spec mode, I'm gonna start a new game and do it all in B-spec (or as much as it will let me)

Done one 24hr a-spec so yes I'll do it all a-spec. The ps2 won't blow up, biggest danger is a power failure.
A-Spec rules, my ten year old son plays b-spec, which club do you belong to.
I even think you should test your own cars. B-Spec = kiddies mode, thats the challenge.

I did the 24hr Le Mans on the Le Mans game - never again. I am B-spec'ing any race 1hr+, A-spec the rest. Winning everything else and Golding all licences will prove my skills to myself.

I wasn't going to, because I don't trust my replacement PS2 laser that much and didn't want to race 24hrs and then have the damn thing not load because the motor won't read the disc.

But now i've got the GT4 on my HDD, i'm more than happy to leave my ps2 on for ages. I just want to do some of the shorter enduros as a test to see if the thing doesn't fail with the game loaded on the HDD. I'm also wary because in GT3 I was doing the Grand Valey enduro and on the last lap the game just froze on the first corner. Just plain froze up, completely.

I think the 24 hr races might take me about a week, or a bit more in stints.

I've used B-Spec, but everything I've done in B-Spec so far (a couple of races in the GT World Champtionship, and one enduro) I will also do in A-Spec... so it kind of counts... I want my B-Spec driver to have atleast some chance of winning, even if I don't use him much...

i did a 24hrs race in B-spec and it takes like 9 hrs.

I tried doing the 24 hr B-Spec at three times regular speed thinking it would make the 24 hr Enduro go faster. The laps went faster, but the time clock seemd to move at the same rate. So it didn't seem like driving it B-spec at 3x would make the 24 hr race take only 8 hrs.

Can someone clarify this for me.

Thanks

Jon

You have to look at the clock again, and not for like 3 seconds. It runs x3. You cant fastforward the pitstops so the total time if sitting by the PS2 and switch to x3 mode after each pit would be closer to 9 hrs.
If you switch to x3 speed and then go away, it will return to x1 after the next pitstop.

I'm at 34% and just started using B-Spec...basically because of my lack of patience and short attention span! My driver has been ok so far, except for one nice trip through the grass on the Nurburgring and a retarded move where he reversed WAY too far and took WAY too long to get moving again.

There is no way I can do the endurance races completely A-Spec.When I'm in the mood I like to challenge myself and try to improve my skill, but I'm more into getting the cool prize cars now.

I just started my first endurance (El Capitan) and am currently half way through it.
My Bspec driver has been fired cause he can't be trusted, so I am doing it all myself.

Anyone else?

When I first bought GT4, I got greedy and B-Specced most of the races for the Money and they prizes. It was fun, but not satisfying in winning the car on your own. I did the small races, and the big races (4 hours or more endurances), I B-specced those and I would get antsy because I wanted to drive. So then after a few weeks I started another Memory card with all A-spec miles and none B-specced, which is a lot of fun, with a lot of frustrations along the way, but well worth it.

yeah a-spec sucks but we feel we get more accomplished if we do it all in a spc. right now we are at like 50%. not looking foward to the 24 hours races in a-spec but what can i say, it's probally funner that way anyway.

I've let my B-Spec driver "Hans-Joachim" do some races, but only if I have successfully A-Specced the same race/serie earlier (all golds). I think I will do all races in A-Spec except endurances that take more than four hours. In 24h events I'm planning to do my share of the race by doing at least one four-hour session.

Now I'm training Hans-Joachim since he has to get as good and fast as he was in his earlier years. I think he still has what it takes for us two to win those 24h races but he needs some more training (he has something like 5000pts at the moment). :)

I've done all 41% of the game in A-spec so far! Won't even consider doing any of the endurances B-spec until I've done 'em all A-spec! :nervous:  I feel B-speccing the lot devalues it somewhat. :guilty:

if ur gonna b-spec endurance races, might aswell cheat and set it to 1 lap, that way u save urself 9 hours of waiting and leaving ur ps2 on...

well wat i do is first race and win a race/championship in a-spec and thn do it again in b-spec just to get the skill up..... theres no way im gonna let my b-spec driver do the 24 hr endurance races though, thts all my racing time thx :)

Dead right 👍 I also don't wanna leave the PS2 on for too long 'cos my parents ( ) will notice it wirring away! I'm in enough ***t as it is! :sly:

I finished the 24H at Nurburgring and I'm 9 hours into the first Sarthe. It's not that big of a deal. It's a grind but I'm learning a bunch about the course and a bunch more about the car and it's subtle handling. Due to family and work commitments, I can only devote 2-3 hours per day to it but right after I finish this one I plan to bang out the second Sarthe 24H immediately, too.

I'm with you regarding B-Spec. It's like watching a friend race and I get nothing out of it. After I 100% A-Spec, I plan to go back and B-Spec for fun but that's only after I'm done with A-Spec for 100% of everything.

I intend to do the entire game in Aspec. I've got just under 26,000 Aspec points right now, and still have quite a few races to go back and redo (of the 40% I've completed thus far) to better those points. When completed, I'll save my data and then tinker with the Bspec mode to see how I like it.

Am I happy about the 24hr races? Hell no. Do I have a life? Yup. But I'll still try and knock it out through Aspec. I'll just have to do 2-3hours at a time until it gets done. I don't really feel like I've accomplished anything if I do it in Bspec. It's like watching your friend playing, and then claiming you won the race.

If I like the car, it's a challenging race and it's less than 15 laps then I'll A-Spec it for the most part.

As for beating the game A-Spec? Pffft. I did that in the last 3 GT games.

No offense but most of the time there's something better to do than 800 laps of thumbing the controller... it's just a game and I'm playing to enjoy it. If some race isn't fun well then hell, I'm not doing it... that's what Joe B-Spec is for.

I don't need to do 23:59, spin out and lose either... man that'd suck.

I've been splitting the multi-race championships up between A and B spec, like the Japan GT with 10 races.

Using a combo of the two, I have WAAAAAAY more B-Spec points, I just couldn't finish all my tests before I started doing all the races...... :guilty:
I have 3821 A-spec points and 7813 B-spec skill points on day 534.... driven 805 A-spec miles and 13,156 B-spec miles (almost all of that is endurance races) my F1 car has over 10000 miles on it and all from endurance races... I got to lap 280 something on the 24 hours of Nurferburger Ring (pitted 70 times I think too!!)
