I'm playing only in A-Spec and I intend to keep playing in A-Spec...
So far I'm at 20% completation and I have 0 B-Spec point.
I like to drive my cars, if I want to manage a car then i play GP Manager!!!!!

Well guys 24hrs with the PS2 turned on . i dont think it would be good 4 it . i did a 24hrs race in B-spec and it takes like 9 hrs . damm that was a long time . so 24hrs no go 4 me

I usually leave my PS2 on for 3-4 days!!! Never had any problem with it. Don't get me wrong I am using B-spec and will be using it specially on the endurance races!!! but you do have to drive with it a lot before if you want to increase your points, so when you get to the endurance races you have a good driver.

a-spec'ing the whole thing

and going for 200 a-spec points per race as well, all golds, 100 % completion and 100 % win ratio.

damn I'm gonna be playing this game for years

522 races * 200 a-spec points plus
34 Mission Halls * 250 a-spec points

Max aspec points 112900

Good luck with the 100% win ratio. If you are planing to go only for 200+ aspec points on every race, you will be reseting your PS2 a lot and if you have a DFP you will have to keep hearing that painfull calibrating noise and the snaps every time you reset!:scared:

I intend to do the entire game in Aspec. I've got just under 26,000 Aspec points right now, and still have quite a few races to go back and redo (of the 40% I've completed thus far) to better those points. When completed, I'll save my data and then tinker with the Bspec mode to see how I like it.

Am I happy about the 24hr races? Hell no. Do I have a life? Yup. But I'll still try and knock it out through Aspec. I'll just have to do 2-3hours at a time until it gets done. I don't really feel like I've accomplished anything if I do it in Bspec. It's like watching your friend playing, and then claiming you won the race.

I haven't touched B-spec yet. I may when it comes down to the 24 hours, but I don't know. I just have way too much fun driving myself, and hearing what everyone says about their b-spec drivers, I wouldn't want to take a chance.

Another all A-speccer here!

24 hr Nurburgring has begun!!!!!!!!
I'll keep updating as I progress thriugh the race. I'm using the Honda Integra Touring car and did a few practice runs, the Falken GTR Skyline is gonna give me a run for my money, but I'm determined to use this car as I am a big fan of the Integra. Wish me luck! :nervous:

I'm starting my 24 hr race on Friday at 8.00pm. Gonna run through the night & day with a few breaks. Need to complete it by 10.00pm Saturday because I've got a party to go to. This is going to be a killer.

"what would all you b-spec'ers have done if b-spec didn't exist.
Lose our jobs and not pay the electric bill, that's what.

Sorry, I can't be bothered to try 24 hours in front of a TV set. Nor do I want to leave a PS2 unattended for several hours or even days.

I'll try to do everything in A-spec, never even used the B-spec in the game :)

The 24 hour races will be done with 2 or 3 "team-mates": friends of mine who are also experienced Gran Turismo drivers ;)

Has anybody done the 24hour races in A-Spec? Its unrealistic to expect people to leave their PS2 on for 24 hours, mine would overheat.

Yup!! There are a few that have done it, I'm in the process aswell as 1 or 2 more people. And no, you're playstation will not overheat. Keep it well ventilated and make sure the fan in the back is clean aswell as the front, make sure there's not dust clogging the little grills and you should be more than ok!

I'm going to A- Spec everything except the 24 hour endurances or the 8 or 9 hour endurances. I would a-spec them, but I don't have the time to do them and I don't wanna leave my ps2 on for that long either.

This is gonna be tough!!
1.5+ hrs into it, working on the 13th lap and I'm only 29 seconds in front of the Falken GTR Skyline, he's on me like white on rice! What I find a bit unfair is that his car sticks to the road like glue and pits every 5 laps. Me, I gotta use Super hard racing tires and only get 3 laps before I have to pit. It's a bit unfair I think. It's been a cat fight all the way so far and I think it will remain this way till the end. He's constanly passing me on the corners, but I get him on the straights.
I'll keep pluggin' at it and let you guy's know my progress a little later. We'll see if I can put a little gap between us here.................. :banghead:

Having used my first memory card to get 100% as fast as possible it annoyed me that "Barry" (Mr B-Spec) Had driven about ten times as many miles as I did (and stuck everything into trees and walls about a million times more than i did), so i've restarted. I'm at 20% now, just finished 1000miles in a G4 (which was great fun) and this weekend it's on to the 24hrs at the ring. The girlfriends on holiday for 2 weeks and I'm off work with a broken foot, so I guess i'm good to go.

Think I might take Integrafan up on using the Intgra touring car, it's a nice car and it doesn't get a lot of use, or maybe the BMW 330i touring car (possibly brave, I've read it's a bit useless). God forbid I drive for 24hrs straight and don't win, two DS2's have packed in since I got GT4 and the one i've got left just lost L1 and has a very sticky triangle!

A-Spec all the way.
I let you know how i get on................

dont see the point of wasting a time on time consuming races, when time could be spent on testing other cars, spending years in weelshop :) etc etc....

Each to their own eh? There's so many ways to play the game...........that's one of the main reasons GT rules.

good luck with the game, i dont even wait for leg to be broken to spend hours playing GT4, i just forget about life, will stop as soon as I get the F1 car :sly:

I'm going to. I started the nurburg 24h monday. I'm doing... well.. crap. I was 7 hours through until tonight, where I'm just going for it, I reckon I'll stop at about 5 and go to bed. Im currently 9:04'42 through.

4.5 hours and 36 laps done, I continue to hold on to my pathetic little thread of a lead of 18.4 seconds in front of the Falken GTR Skyline. I'm ready to have a nervous breakdown and go into convulsions..................
To think that I still have 19.5 hours and 146 laps to go with this guy that's been on my butt since the very begining of the race, equals to a gauranteed call to my therapist when this race is over. :dunce: :nervous:  :boggled:

Here's the car that I'm using for this race.

Nice, was going to use that one (same colour too) but settled for the BMW 330i touring - I'm 6hrs in and 4 seconds up on the Audi Abt-T touring in second :scared:
Lap 47........sooo........6x4=24hrs......47x4=192! laps should win by 24 seconds. That's not a lot is it? Oh the joys of A-spec. If I come second after 192 laps, my PS2 is going to do 0 - 60 in less than a second (straight out the window....hehe). Right then Mr German Audi driver.......where were we....................

Hello race fans!
12 hours and 95 laps done in A-spec so far. Fatigue has started to take it's toll this morning with a couple of trips into the grass to diminish my precious lead down to 4.8 seconds. This has been a great race so far with the Falken GTR Skyline giving me plenty of competition. Although I would like to continue on my quest for victory this morning, I think I will call it a night as to not lose anymore precious seconds and continue fresh after I wake up later today.

Happy Motoring to all, and always use your turn signals!

Because i know that i will play GT4 for years like i did with gt3 i will do it all by my self even the 24hr racings wich i will do with 1 or 2 friends in a weekend.

i say no 2 B spec's

Currently at around 28%. Just over half way through the GT world champ in my Zonda LM. As for B-spec, haven't even laid a finger on it. About the 24h races, i'll deal with them when i get to them, they'll be the last races i'll do probably.
A-SPEC is way more fun. Nice to see other guys like me :)

I must admit to using my B-spec idiot for the 1000 miles so far (til I found him against a wall, reversing and driving straight back into it for so long he'd run out of fuel!) Now it's a case of 'if you want to do something properly...'

I don't really fancy the thought of 24 hours straight though, so I've decided on a strategy from actual team tactics; I'll race for five/six hours, pit in and let my idiot have a go for another 5-6 hours whilst I have a break then return, and so on.

Does anyone know how long drivers race at a time in the actual Le Mans 24? I know they do have multiple drivers, but not sure how long they race in a stretch.

Turn signals ?.. You ARE getting tired :-)

Good luck keeping your 4.8 second lead for another 12 hours 👍

A-Spec all the way!
B-Spec is for girls :)

A-spec all the way to reach 100% (or until the PS2 won't melt... or my brain...) :dopey:
