I've been reading the official forums and people are saying that the Fanatec wheels don't have their clutch and shifter working.
Is this true?
Anyone else using the Fanatec wheels?

ive just been playing dirt 2 with the fanatec and i cant get the option of h shifter on it, dirt 2 for ps3 works with the shifter however forcefeedback in non existent.

Dirt 2 for ps3 works fine with my Fanatec wheel. Feedback isn't quite as good as it should be (Dirt 2 is the only game that felt better on my G25 than on my Fanatec), but it does work properly. The biggest thing is to be sure to turn on your "drift" setting in your wheel to at least 2. The "dead feedback" problem is caused by the Fanatec not getting "light" when you lose contact with the ground in Dirt 2. Once you set the drift setting everything is fine. Maybe 90% as good as the G25 and G27. (And considering that the pedals are about 40x better than the Logitech pedals, that is a trade I'm happy to make.) So just play with your on-wheel settings in Dirt 2 and have fun!

dirt 2 on the ps3 in regards to forcefeedback is no where near the level of g25, you dont even feel a jolt with the fanatec when you hit the ground after a big jump, its just really dead forcefeedback, there is resistance there but its all wrong and really dull. ive tried all settings, its still crap. xbox box is how it should be however the six speed doesnt work...really frustrating. also mcla on the ps3 forcefeedback works but graphics are not as good as xbox, but on the xbox the ffb is a joke. sometimes i think why did i even give fanatec my money:crazy:

gt5 is awesome on the fanatec tho

G27,H-Shift,and clutch works very nice on Dirt 3.Its a great game, realy fun.I played it on PS3:tup:

Can you get locked out of gears when using the clutch? like gt5.
Basically... is it simulating a missed shift?

Yes you can, in same way ike GT5.More precise in Dirt i think if you dont want to missshift:tup:

Fanatec works fine on ps3 with clutch + h shifter, and has misshifts

( thanks guys, for telling me that xbox didnt, otherwise I'd have bought xbox version)

I'm looking forward to hearing from an Xbox/Fanatec user on this... I'm reserving buying Dirt 3 until I have my wheel and can confirm it works well... I didn't order the shifter, though, I figured I'd just wait for the new one, but would want to be able to use the clutch and paddles and play on Xbox if I bought this game.

Shifting without a clutch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLw0hAtOik4 (just to show it's possible and not too difficult)

I don't like the way GT5 does clutching because of things like this. In a real car you have strong tactile and audible feedback and can immediately respond if the car isn't going into gear, I feel games should be more forgiving due to the lack of tactility. Maybe it's just me.
