Anyone lose a race yet?

I lost a 24 minute race in a ridiculous fashion. I was slowing down to cross the finish line after the 24 minute mark and avoid having to make another lap. Unfortunately, it was really close. I slowed down too much and the second placed car overtook me and crossed the line at precisely 24 minutes and 88 thousands... 24:00.088

Was pretty mad, as you can imagine.

I just noticed my stat page has me at a 100% win rate. That first loss is gonna suck.
Yes. I had a tough time beating the MR Challenge on National A class. I was using a 512 Ferrari without much tuning. The GT40 always beat me by like .200 seconds. I was getting aggravated and finally dumped a bunch of money in the drivetrain and weight reduction. I beat the GTO and Zonda on the 5th attempt.

I'm not very good at the g-kart races either. I usually place 2nd, sometimes first.

OMG that has gotta suck so badly :banghead:

Hope you went back and better luck next time 👍

Mad at yourself, I hope.

I lost a race at Madrid, kept hitting the wall on that last turn/chicane :banghead:, driver of the Subaru look at me and shook his head as he pass me for the win...

I've lost one race. 80 races/79 wins.

It was the first day I had the game and I attempted a single player race (Arcade mode in GT5 I guess you could say)... I was just messing around and didn't win a 2 lap race.

My Diablo GT got its ass handed to it in some of the races in the GT all-stars championship by a McLaren F1.

The one that gave most problem I think was the MR race in Nat A...Madrid short layout puts a premium on power and the under power NSX was hard to beat the lead GT40...

I lost the Madrid race that you mention at least ten times to the Ford GT40 Mark I '66, before finally winning with my lightly tuned Acura NSX '91 (I started with a PPvalue of around 450 but had to increase it to around 460PP). I don't know what PPV the GT40 has, but I imagine its more than the 500PP limit on the race. I was finding it hard to get past a couple of AI cars thru some of the slow corners, and this would cause me to loose too much time to the streaking GT40. I also found that it was very easy to put my NSX on its roof if I took too much of the curb thru the middle left-hander in the race. I kept finding that my speed was severely reduced by sliding along on my roof!:dopey::D

Great fun!

Yeah, a few losses and I'm only about 3/4 through National A. The MR race in London kept getting me. Maybe the NSX was not the right choice?

Yeah I think I've lost that at least 10 times...you can out corner an AI car pretty easily, any track with decent amount of turns you can take advantage of that, even Bathurst with those long straights(I won the GT Championship in Nat A with a Demio with only 190 bhp, on Bathurst you have to be in the lead before you get on to that, and then you block...a lot...lol). Madrid short though, long straights, lots of acceleration from slow corner, stock NSX gearing is a bit tall, and you can't pass very easily with the AI blocking you....All the other races I won using a newest Elise with only 150bhp. The NSX's higher power(I had it tuned to ~320) was barely enough if you drive a smooth race to beat the AI at Madrid for me...

It's not just about winning or losing a race. I'm getting gold in everything. Even the kart races. And it's not because of superior driving skills. I definitely do not have all-gold in GT5.

I was just running the Historic race in IB and decided to try the 69 Camaro Race Car for a challenge. Of course wouldn't you know that there would be two 2Js starting in the front of the pack :( I figured I would do well to get 3rd place if I was lucky which I did on the first go and was closer to the 2Js than I thought I would be so I made a few tweaks and tried again and again and again ;) finally managed a win on the 6th attempt. Of course I could have taken the 2J to the race and won on the first try but that would not have been nearly as much fun :)

Eidt; btw I am referring to the first race in that set, that track has never been one of my strongest and the 2J just seems to take those corners so smooth and fast that it runs away from everything else.

I've lost about 4 races, mostly all of them due to the fact that I was screwing around and trying to drift while I was in first because I was bored

I've lost many. At some point AI starts using Racing Hards which makes them corner just as fast as my cars on sports hard. Can't make big mistakes or race is lost.

Ive lost a couple. The most recent was on Grand Valley Speedway. Last turn, last lap, first place and the guy behind be decides it might be fun to play bumper cars. I finished in 5th.

I've been running some seriously under powered cars myself to try and make things more fun. I'm not sure what my win percentage is however, I'm sure that its not 100%. I do know that I am having fun with competitive races.

Yes, plenty of times. Many on purpose trying for Trophies, many by using underpowered cars to give myself a challenge.

Haven't lost any event yet. Neither the career events, license 'tests' or special events. I must be a great driver or something.

That sounds like something that would happen to me too. If not that, sometimes I like to spin at the finish line. In GT5, I did lose a few races because of either spinning and getting passed, or spinning on what wasn't the last lap. Embarrassing........

Oh ya, kind of miffed about this one... had a perfect record going until I hit the Red Bull Kart Masters. I had out and out won the first 3 of 4 of the races, and got Silver for the last race on the "Gran Turismo Arena (Layout A)", losing by over a second. But hey, had to happen, Right? So, I go to see my stats, and find out now I have 4 losses. 107 wins/111 races. Still got the Gold for the "Championship", but I only lost 1 race. But somehow tagged for all 4...

Not too pleased at all

The Red Bull events are glitched. I golded all the ones available and it doesn't count your wins but it counts the races. Ruined my perfect ratio on the stats page, i'm now at 194 races/185 wins.

I've lost a few. I got cocky with my 172hp Miata and entered far too many races pitted up against Ferraris and other cars I stood no chance against on tracks like Mount Panorama, with really long straights.
