Of course I remember playing that game. Once a week in elementary school we would go to the secondary computer lab(basically they put all the old computers there). I would try at first than just try and see how many ways I could kill them.(I know I was mean in my elementary school days)

What's the best month to start? I started in June.

I was playing a game, and was bout 2 days away from the last fort which was maybe two weeks away from ending the game. Then, my OS just crashed and had to restart. I hate MS.

I had about 267 lbs. of food left that I started with from day one. I had 10 ox, 8 sets of clothes, 1,500 bullets, 3 of wheels and axles and plenty of other supplies. At the fort, I was going to get 150 lbs. of extra food and 2 sets of clothes. Everyone was getting plenty of food everyday, I was mostly on a 'Steady' pace with the occasional fast past to speed things up. Not sure if that's the best tactic.

I plan to try again, but not till I find enough free time to do so. I'm out for the rest of the day.

I would assume that you don't want to travel during winter, so I would start in February.

I made some time and started over again. I chose April. Worked out great. I chose the Farmer, and it was a mistake. I needed $7 damn dollars I didn't have for the toll road.

However, I got to the damn river and attempted to float across and lost all supplies but 552 pounds of food (had 1,300), 1 bullet (had 650), 5 sets of close. I had 6 oxen but had to trade one for an axle I broke after I lost all my supplies. That took an entire month and food rations dropped a lot.

So, I get to the river or the toll road at the end of the game, and I have no money. Looks like I have to take the river. Big problem, NO 🤬 CONTROLS! The god damn arrow keys don't work! Everybody dies.

Lame. Very 🤬 lame.

These idiots are a FAIL. How can you make a game with no controls that work? Now I know not to waste any more of my time on this piece of crap.

I still have Oregon Trail 3 for the PC. I remember one time--just one time--I was very successful and got the big giant ranch and red-painted house and it was pretty sweet. My strategy to make money was to catch tons of fish, especially the big trout and salmon, and then trade it all off in bulk. Worked like a charm.

EDIT: And yes, I had that figured out when I was like 10, lol.

I made it to the end, shortly before I made it a thief stole 6 of my ox's then another died, just made it with one ox left and one person died from a stake bite. 910 points.
