Anyone thinks GTS has the best feeling from all the racing games out for PS4?

I have tried Dirt Rally, Project Cars 2, Assetto Corsa and Driveclub.
Out of those, I'd say Driveclub feels the best but none of them compare to GTS in terms of feeling.
Even with the numb G29, that road feeling is particularly good.
For example, I took the 2015 Mustang GT to Brands Hatch GP in a quick race in both Assetto and GTS.
I played it with no assists in GTS save weak ABS and factory settings in AC.
I had so much trouble getting the sense of speed in AC and even felt the steering way too heavy.
Maybe I already got used to it but I think that feeling in GTS is unparalled.

Whether or not it's "realistic" is an argument I'm not willing to get involved in, but Gran Turismo - right throughout the series - has always had the best driving experience out of any game. In my opinion. It just feels right while I'm playing.

Project cars 2 with a nice setup feels better to me. GT Sport looks way better and has a great sense of speed due to the solid frame rate. GT is also much easier to get into. You can turn the game on and know you will get a fun and consistent race from the default settings. Project cars 2 took me a week worth of researching setups to finally find one that I can enjoy on a controller.

My favorite track that is in both games is Red Bull Ring. It’s a night and day difference between the 2 games. GT sport looks better and is smoother, but Project Cars 2 just feels way more like I would assume a race car would feel like. The main issue with GT is that it has an unrealistic tire model. You can do things in GT that would be impossible with a real car. Project cars 2 forces you to consider the physics of a real car with real tires, so to me it’s more rewarding. GT is far easier and more laid back, so I consider the 2 games pretty much equals. Project cars 2 with GT graphics and production value would be the greatest racing game I have ever played.

@tonybarnaby - I also enjoyed the Project Cars driving model, but there was no sense of advancement or accomplishment in the game (like Assetto Corsa), so I could not get into it at all. In fact, PCars was the reason I invested in a Thrustmaster steering wheel setup to begin with, and why I went on to use said wheel in Gran Turismo (5 and 6, and kept it until I finally bought GTS).

I appreciate that this thread is talking about the driving experience itself and not necessarily the game as a whole, but there's little point in having a great driving model if the game doesn't pull me in and make me want to play it (again, my own opinion of it).

Assetto Corsa career mode is pretty bad.
Just a series of challenges.

I can’t speak on project cars 1 career mode, but the career mode in 2 is very deep and has something for everyone. The game can be found for dirt cheap (I think I paid like $15)

GT Sport has the best feel by controller on any game. That just is.

However many many games feel better on a wheel comparitively.

You can use the same wheel on a PC on your chosen pc game and there's no contest. Saying that many people love that "Gran Turismo" vibe/feel that's been there for decades.

I own both games on Steam (both bought on release date)...

PC1: 36hrs play time
PC2: 10hrs play time

I'm not bashing the game, and honestly it's just my personal experience of it, but I found it mundane at best.

The biggest thing project cars 2 nails is tracks. There are multiple tracks in that game that I have never seen in a game before, and I’ve been gaming since the 80s. GT could learn from them.

I've played GT since day one of GT, and Forza since (ironically) day one of FM2 lol.
My problem is that I'm hooked on the whole GT/Forza gaming model of "start with nothing and gradually amass a collection of the finest vehicles", and add to that percentage completion milestones... I can't resist. I'll happily admit that there are better games, better simulations, better experiences to be had, but from a personal perspective nothing can take me away from my roots.

Maybe I prefer the GT driving model because it is "easy", but I'm ok with that :D

I MUCH prefer the old grind of previous GT games. I would knock out the licenses and then start grinding. I remember a few games ago there was a race at Indy that paid big money. I spent over a week grinding it in my corvette in order to buy some expensive cars. That was awesome to me. Way more fun than racing real people for myself, but I’m pretty slow.

AC(PS4) and PC2(PS4) feel better using a controller, than GTS using a controller. In my opinion/experience though, it comes down to specific cars.

In AC/PC2, vintage cars are unparalleled. GTS can not... absolutely can not match the feeling of vintage cars like the other two games.
As much as I can virtually feel the cars underneath me from suspension, tyres, steering angle, the visual sensation, they do it so well. Try a 365GTB racer at the Fiorano track! Vintage 911 RSR at the Porsche proving grounds.👍 Group 4 M1 anywhere you like. BMW 2002 Stanceworks around Barcelona.

What GTS has, is ease of control for everyone. The cars pretty much won't surprise you. The feeling is almost the same for most cars.
GTS also works better, using a controller, with GT3 cars. AC/PC2 need a bit more patience with the stick.

It's why I get my fix using vintage cars in AC/PC2 and use more modern cars in GTS.

Talking about tracks, GT Sport should have had all the tracks from GT6 and then it may have been a better game. GT Sport is not a Real game, that is why GTS has not many tracks in the game.

I have a wheel. I love PC2 but I just really don't enjoy spending 30 minutes before every race setting up and testing a car to make it even driveable (let alone competitive) on each track. The default setups are downright unusable for me. In real life the drivers don't do the adjusting themselves, do they? That's what their engineer and mechanics are for. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy setting up a car, just not to that extent. That's just tedious for me. Other than that it's a great game and I find it way more realistic and superior to GTS. But this just ruins it for me so much. So every time I feel like just racing I always go to GTS. It's just "no bull**** and straight to the action". And I pretty much always feel like just racing. :)

AC and PC (1 and 2) both have significantly better FFB and road feel through the wheel that GTS, GTS is utterly numb at times and get a good number of things wrong in terms of FFB, something that is also easy to objectively feel as well.

Take a car over Paddock Hill Bend at Brands Hatch, as you crest it you should feel the steering pull slightly to the left (as the left front crests first): in reality, AC and PC2 this is the case, GTS you get nothing.

This is an awesome thread and discussion here guys. Thanks for bringing this up.

I am currently going through major changes in my car game sim habits.

Up until recently, I have pretty much been exclusively playing GT on PS with the pads...

But finally everything is coming together for me, I have the space, the time and the money to get out of my GT cocoon...

As of yesterday I have completed my transition by adding the shifter to my G29 rig and playing on a 75in on the PS4 pro with Project Cars... This is the best experience playing car at home for me, ever... Truly a dream come true.

I just want to say that I agree with every single words you guys are exchanging below.

playing back to back GTS and Project Cars 2 on newly modified setup has allowed me to come to the exact same conclusion that you both/all describe below...

All that to say that we are in concurrence.

The perfect game for me would all and every that GT has ever done, at their highest quality, but with the details and the accuracy, the options and the driving dynamics of Project Cars...

That would be perfection!

I only have Project cars 1&2 to compare to, and I personally think the force feedback in Project Cars feels a bit better, more surface/road details, but GTsport’s overall feel is better, but its force feedback feels numb when you come from PC2.

In last week's GTP AC time trial, it was the lotus 72D around imola.
I have never felt anything in GTS even close to approaching the detailed yet natural sensation coming through the wheel.
I could easily sit there for 30 minutes at a time just taking 10ths off and enjoying the driving experience. That's never happened for me in GTS.

I was just unable to drive PC2 on the wheel, after experience with Dirt and GT Sport. I did not bother to get into it further because it's not 4K.
Dirt Rally feels pretty good. GT Sport has some strange behavior, but I'm getting over it.

Looking forward to trying the new ACC. But is it going to be 4K ???

For me (T500RS) GTS has the worst FFB - the wheel feels numb and the tracks billiard smooth with no texture or bumps. AC has the best FFB with PC2 next. Wreckfest FFB is surprisingly good .

I like the visuals in GTS plus the livery editor and scapes, but when I play it always feels like a game. When I use certain cars on PC2 it doesn't feel like a game - it is that immersive that it provides me with a momentary escape from reality.

I never alter the setups in PC2 - just find car, track and weather combinations that I like - I enjoy the default loose setups and enjoy adjusting driving technique to match the car.

I hate the grinding in GTS - it seems like such a waste of time. I want to use the cars I want. not spend time grinding for the cars I want. AC and Project Cars have made me used to having all the cars available and it is very hard and frustrating to go back to the GTS grinding model.

For me the best in terms of driving feel and FFB is Assetto Corsa. Nothing really touches it in that respect. In fact the only title that will match it is Assetto Corsa Competizione when it finally arrives on 23 June.

Gran Turismo Sport is a very enjoyable game and better than I thought it would be in this regard. It is missing that additional layer of detail in it's FFB model that AC has. Not being a sim also makes it more accessible too.

I’ve never played AC, but I wonder if you gave up too quickly in P cars 2.
Nah, I've downloaded the game probably 10 different times. I think as a game it's really good. The track list last amazing. The racing can be really good with an excellent features for setting up the races. But I find the FFB the feel of the driving with my T300 to be close to terrible. It feels more like I'm controlling something floaty rather than a car connected to the road. And don't get me started on rubble strips pulling you off the road. I'll admit it has moments where it clicks a little bit for me. But those are short lived.

Exactly. Even with the controller.

What's weird are the GTS replays. It shows the suspension working overtime. However, from cockpit view, the suspension soaks up bumps like a Lincoln Towncar.
