Its true that in time you will get better, it is also a important part of really expanding your knowledge of the sport of drifting and I will say that it is easier to learn if someone can explain what something does and explain why it does it.
Its also important to know how your car feels without modification so when you want the car to do or stop doing something, you will be better prepared to tune the car to suit your style of driving.
Its a never ending learning experience... I learn something new everyday.
