I am worried in general. About the future of our children.... :sly::sly:

I am worried in general. About the future of our children....their driving skills on the roads are going to be crap, judging by their online play.

I really hope adjustable transmissions become FULLY adjustable after this, that's all I care about now.

So since this is the February update being discussed in this thread, are all of you expecting it come out tomorrow sometime or something?

That would be brilliant.
But I'm expecting it to come out on Thursday, the same day that the Seasonal events are due to be updated.
Maybe along with that GT Drivers thing.

You dared to make a joke on a forum?!? :O....He's a witch! Burn Him!! :D

Just imagine the fire ;)

Because it would give us too much freedom when tuning our cars :D

Heheh.

Seriously, the GT5 physics looks great.

But the lack of simple things like full customizable transmission, customizable tyre pressure, or simply numerical sampling of the tyres temperature, makes me suspect that with freedom we could "break" some rules and make the cars seems unrealistic.

Just guessing...

But I think full customizable transmission finally become avaiable in next update.

Obs: sorry the terrible english, my laziness never allowed me to learn this language.

Does this 10gb number suggest that the next possible update involves much more than just remote B-Spec?

And how do we know it's 10gb btw?

Edit: @Taradino: Don't worry about your english, it's understandable. Languages are best learnt when you force yourself into an environment that primarily speaks what you want to learn to speak.

I'm only worried about having a great idea for a photo shoot, then switching on and realising I have to sit waiting patiently for about 2 hours while my game updates.
That would drive me mad.

Wow, now I know how celebrity death rumours get blown out of proportion. 10GB was a figure plucked out of the air by dabest2500 for a joke:

It'll be a 10GB update :D

10GB is not the actual file size. The actual file size of the upcoming update is still unknown.

I simply made it up.

I got a bad headache so I didn't bother surfing through the first pages to see the full story or my head would implode.:grumpy:

10gb is astronomical size for an update. Especially if it's free.

Don't make jokes on the forums! Internet is serious business! :)

Yeah you're right. But sometimes its fun to goof around a bit.

Anyway I do hope Kaz and co get drunk or high and just give everyone free content, even if they don't own a copy of GT5.

On another note, Lady Gaga has just been killed after being struck by a flaming GTR:lol:

(She survived the car but somebody shot her)

God how dumb are people 10 GB download does not!!! EXIST!! Itl probaly be 1GB the maximum, the whole game install took about 9GB so there's no way there will be a 10GB download so get over it!! Personally I want to see more offline race events coz iv nearly done em all and the ability to use paints over and over again I want to create a matte light silver garage

ok, next 3 pages someone will say that next patch's size is confirmed to be 1 GB

Prologue Spec III update was what...3 or 5GB, I can't remember..

Or it was not? ;)

Eurogamer: What's not perfect? You said on stage you're going to be upgrading every week, every month – what specifically do you want to work on?

Kazunori Yamauchi: That's sort of a surprise we're keeping for the future. Once games go online it's no longer the type of thing where you just make it, hand it over to the players and they go out and play it. Games will keep evolving.

Now it's released we're going to have several million people who'll become citizens of Gran Turismo. From here on we have to listen to their voice and see what they want and change the game accordingly to match their needs. So Gran Turismo really is just at the starting point, it's really the beginning and we're just going to evolve from here.

Eurogamer: You've been working on the game for over five years. How hard was it to say 'we've done enough'? Would you have liked more time?

Kazunori Yamauchi: Of course that's true and it would have been nice to have more time, but at one point we have to release the game because my imagination alone is not enough to make the game evolve to where we want it to go. We really need to listen to the voice of our citizens and see what they want out of the experience and evolve with that.

Eurogamer: On a specific note, will you be adding online matchmaking soon?

Kazunori Yamauchi: In this release we focused on the features that allow close friends to race together. Online updates are planned of course for leaderboard and matchmaking - [they're] all planned in the process of evolution

Journalist: Why did it take so long? And what is yet to come to perfect the game?

Kazunori Yamauchi: All the parts of GT are very difficult to develop and there's quite a gap between just completing something and perfecting it. In the process there's a lot of work involved between and sometimes that means getting rid of what you already have and starting afresh. That's what took the longest.

As I mentioned, we're already doing an update on the 27th to refine the usability of the game to make it a better experience. I think it's going to be hard to find an end to that process

That's pure BS. They want to make you believe that they are working hard on GT5 but in reality, they're not doing much. Seriously, GT5 is a complete mess. I used to be a fan boy, not anymore. As soon as Shift 2 comes out, I'll be playing that. I want a fun game, not one that makes me feels like I'm a slave. They're probably working on GT6 and when it comes out, in 2017, it will be just like GT5, outdated.

I was seriously thinking, when I bought GT5 that I would be playing this game for 3-4 years... how wrong was I. More like 3-4 months.

I have to say I agree. With the bit in bold specifically. I played GT4 for years - GT5...even now 3/4 months after it's out, I only play it occasionally. It's a good game and everything, it just doesnt have the longevity of GT4 simply because it doesnt really add anything new to the series. In terms of actual gameplay (excluding graphics/physics etc), I can't help but think GT4 did it first, and GT4 did it better. They're going to have to up their game for GT6. No pun intended.

Where did you get that info from?
Link?

No link per se -- some guy mentioned it in an online lobby last night.

So let me emphasize -- RUMOR.

That being said, when I posted said rumor on the official PS3 site / GT5 section, somebody replied and said they heard it too and based it on reading Kaz's twitter feed. Somewhere in there it SUPPOSEDLY said that he was going to adjust the frequency of being able to backup your game.
