It's best 7 out of 9 according to the website.
I remember reading somewhere else that it was only counting the best 3 of 9, but you're right that the website does say 7 of 9. But currently Manufacturer's is only counting your single best score from the first 3 rounds, no matter how many rounds you've done, where as with Nation's every round is being added to your total points tally (I assume they'll just keep counting until they have 7 scores, then just drop the lowest score as needed after that). This leads me to believe Manufacturer's is going with the 3 of 9 scoring, and they'll starting counting your 2nd-best score after this round, similar to how they did in GT Sport.

Got my times mixed up for todays race. Logged on 1 hour too early.
Just done a repeat of the Interlargos race from the other day and I bought some Mediums to see how they raced as I only had Hards when I raced in the manufactures cup.
I used Mediums and the rest of the field used Hards. I pitted on lap 12 as i was losing time to P1. Anyway on laps 13 & 14, P1 slows down and is going 20 seconds slower. Then as I pass P1 they speed back up again to normal speed.
Ive added a screenshot showing the difference in times. PD need to fix as I don’t see the point in doing custom races. 70542FB6-2695-41F6-AF71-432BC5F5C303.jpeg

High speed ring and its raining yet I have no wet tyres. This sucks. Now I have to quit. I don't even know if I need full wets or inters. How do you know which ones to use?

First slot and we've crashed in Qualy.

I didn't have any issues recently with 16 cars, now we're back to 20 and immediately freezes.

If it’s on the upper part of the grip meter use wet, middle use intermediates. People are using wet on the qualifying I’m watching.

So yeah, get a full set of tires because you might need them.

Track was in qualifying at the beginning good for one lap on hards. No chance for the others to get these times when track goes more wet. The most used IM.

1 lap after the out lap? The qualifying I saw, the first lap after the out lap seemed already impossible for hard tires. If I’m not mistaken the pole was on IM on that lap and then wet tires came into play and that was it.

Weather seems a bit daft. Have to guess what it will be from qualy to race so total gamble on tyres and the weather moves a complete different direction to the wind??

Yeah I might skip this one 😂

If you’re on the wrong tires you can’t even drive straight.

Everyone with a clean race on this one should be awarded the Mclaren F1

Yes. Weather probably is bit different in the lobbies. In my lobby the first three in Q used hards. 4th position was 1 second behind third. After that there were normal gaps.

In my race the rain stopped at half. The track dried slow so it was best decision to keep inters until the end.

I ran full wets for quali and the race. Finished 2nd. Admittedly a bit of luck when 2 people took each other out in front of me, but I could drive on the limit the whole time and not worry about the rain

Not a lot to write home about here. Qualy totally borked and only let us out for a minute and then back to lobby so no one set a lap, probably a good thing since I'd picked hards as I'd managed a decent lap in practice on them but aquaplaned as soon as I left pit lane in qualy.

Started 15th on full wets, got my way up to 4th with all the chaos going on and with 5 laps to go picked up the slightest barrier contact penalty of all time and 4 cars came past me, putting me 8th which is where I stayed. Disappointing end, not really feeling like doing it again.

Cracking and very classy livery from @UrbanGorilla though

My race was boring.
So I did a Sport race before Manufactures cup and I upgraded my rank from C/S to B/S.
Enter the B/S lobby expecting to be near last. Inters used in Q and my first lap was what counted for P5. Couldn’t improve due to track getting wetter.
Race started and picked Inters. Be nice to know the weather and track conditions before the race! Moved up P3 on lap 1 as the two infront were slow. Not sure if they in Hards? P3 is were I sat the full race. Two infront of me were about half a second quicker than me per lap and cars behind were about half a second slower than me so I had a lonely race. A few cars did pit mid race, but the track never dried out.
Inters were the perfect tyre choice for me in V12 Vantage. Would have liked to see the track start to dry out when it stopped raining. Think crossover was required in that race

I just saw a replay, the top times are wall riding? Do they expect to get invited to the series by abusing the game like that?
PD doesn't know or doesn't care. People have been wall riding for ages and the only thing they want to do is give an innocent person a penalty when they spin into the wall.
I defend PD a lot but having players literally throw a dart to choose which tyre is the best to start on is laughable. What are they thinking?
Well it is raining in the screens before the session. That's how you can tell.

Was not confident for this one given my FP times were shocking compared to a lot of my friends. I used the inters for qualy and the race with no issues at all.
A few people seemed to be mad in qualy by using hards. Until they pit they were at the back. My initial lap was P8 but as the track got wetter I could not improve although some did and dropped me to P13.
I think most went for a wet tyre before the race started apart from 2 by my estimation.
Overtook a Cayman at the start. I guess it has poor acceleration. But it got past me again out of turn 2 as it was more confident through the turn. Thanks to spinners I was able to look at P9 for a bit. I was hanging with the mid pack and didn't feel like I would slip. But just before the half way point the track really started to dry quite suddenly and the sudden disparity between the wet and dry caught me out. Going through T1 the back end just went. I span once and then the car lurched the other way. It ended up facing the barrier at the top of the hill. Despite hard left lock the car turned right up the hill. It took me reversing to get it pointed forwards enough to move properly. By then it was too late and I had a lonely race where my only target was not to get lapped by the cars who were stupidly and unreally fast. (I failed.) Came home P13 ahead of 1 other person who spun and a guy who persevered on hards to be lapped 5 times. Fair play.
The Gr4 Lexus really is in a bad place. It does everything o.k. but nothing that well. I had no real top end and only just kept on the tails of those ahead. It is stable and brakes well but I am just slow despite lapping somewhat normally for me. At least the Gr3 seems to be o.k. and that is where I will hopefully get my points this season.

Did you pit for drys?
In my race I could see a dry line forming but I wouldn’t say it was dry enough for me to switch to dry tyres. I was looking at the wet track meter all race and I don’t think it dropped below the 1/3rd mark. I was doing consistent 1.22s until the last few laps and then it was 1.23s.

I did two races in manufacturers today.
First one qualified in P10. It was a slight rain throughout, and apart from the first lap for those who went out with slicks, intermediates throughout.
In the race I climbed up to P4 (profited from many cars on full wets).
Towards the end the outside lines of the banked curves were too wet for intermediates, but it was still a bit quicker, albeit more difficult.
Tried to attack P3 coming out of the last turn on the last lap, but lost the rear, spun and hit the wall. P5, but got a 3 sec penalty. So only P7

Second try, similar conditions. This time started quali on slicks and got P1 thanks to slipstream from Super GT (the youtuber). It was intermediate weather after that so P1 was sealed.
Started with intermediates, and the rain radar first showed light rain throughout again.
Got lucky as I think P2 was on wets and they all lost some time, so by the time drivers on intermediates were past him I was 3-4 seconds clear.
That stayed the same until lap 14. I lost the rear in turn 2, but was able to catch it. Unfortunately I hit the barrier on the left hand side and got a 1.5 second penalty. Without that I would have stayed in P1, but now I was P3 directly behind P2 and P1.
P2 then had a small error out of turn 2 that got me past him. On the main straight I was able to pass the leader again, but again made an error in turn 2.
Another 1.5 sec penalty, so I was in P3 for good.

I hate myself so much for these errors, but still got P3 and 293 points, which is the highest I ever got. I really enjoyed the track, car and weather combo. My Supra was superb.

They only need to make the weather conditions and predictions visible before the race start. Otherwise it's so much of a gamble, that caught out many players today.
On some tracks and camera angle it's hard to see that it is even raining before the start, but you have no idea whether it is almost dry or wet tires.

I thought hard about taking dry tires for race 2, as towards the end of qualifying the rain was supposed to stop.
From what I gathered in that race it seemed that the qualifying and race had the exact same weather set. Around 10 minutes in the race the radar showed a clear cut towards dry weather, the same thing and same timing as qualifying had

I didn't. I would have lost more than I gained through the pit stop. Inters felt o.k. and the wear wasn't bad at all.
The least they could do is give us a starting radar somewhere. I guess maybe not possible depending on how the game is coded, but...
True the game does need something. TBH the whole lobby screens need a massive upgrade.

IN THE WET :)

Did some practice before hand, thought people might get caught out with the weather & that's what happened.

Some people only had hard tyres from the looks of things.

I went fully Wets for Qualifying & the whole race, didn't trust myself on Intermediates.

Only Qualified 10th, first lap was the most important, as it rained heavier after that, but there were cars crashing everywhere by the end of lap 1, presumable on hard tyres, more skilled drivers did put some faster times in on intermediates, so 10th it was.

Race was a bit of a procession, but we slowly moved through the field as people crashed out ect, the rain did get heavier so I was happy to be on full wets to be honest, by lap 17 we were up to 5th, but being pushed hard by a fellow Brit who was on intermediates but struggling a little as the rain once again got heavier.

Into the final lap the Brit passes me, I follow close, as we enter the tunnel for the last time, 4th place is serving a penalty, we both pass him/her, on the final bend into the home straight a lapped car gets in the way, the 4th place Brit has know where to go and hits them, pushing them wide, I'm gaining on the Brit, unfortunately the lapped car gets pushed up the track into the line I'm taking, I side swipe him but keep control, now going for the overtake for 4th place has we head to the line, the fellow Brit moves across to block my route & the pit lane is closing, fearing being pit manoeuvred I switch, I try to go to his right, he seems to move back across me, so I try to switch again back to his left, unfortunately right into the path of the German car in sixth who is racing for the line to also try to get fourth, we crash I spin, the Brit grabs fourth, I cross the line sideways for fifth with the German attached to me at 90 degrees crossing the line in sixth.

My apologies to the German, I didn't even see he was there, in the heat of the battle & also to my fellow Brit in front, I thought he was a little unfair on me but after watching the replay back I think it was just a racing incident, so after a solid if somewhat static race, we crossed the line in a pile up, what a finish.

So p5 it is for a solid 83 points.

Really enjoyed the wet weather challenge, mainly because it gave me an advantage just because I was prepared for it.

Looking forward to the next one in a couple of days time.

Great races tonight, first attempt I got kicked out 20 metres into qualifying, the ethernet port on the PS5 is a bit shoddy so it sometimes disconnects for half a second, enough to get kicked. Second attempt didn't go so well and the whole lobby was kicked through a "un"expected error as qualifying loaded.

I did three races. First I was very weak, but just 98 points. so in the second one from P9 on P5, but a guy was spinning and stands on the track, comes back to speed and no ghost and just watching in the mirrors to block ober people. So I was vrashing and because of the wall I got more penalty than him…

3rd race was an ultra fast lobby, but managed to be on the line on P9 with 106 points. The fourth one I tried, but the screen was freezing just before the qualifying started. On the left bottom the time at 0:00,000, the qualifying time on the right side at 10:00 and in the middle my M4 in the pits. I have been waiting one hour, but nothing happened.

At least I didn‘t need the 106 points because of other better results in the first three raves.

PD needs to patch out the wall ride exploit on this track, they def made it harder to do, but it's easy to use it for quali

I think once you moved right you should have stayed right. You loose time switching back and they weren't blocking you too much. Still made for an exciting finish.

Yep I think your right watched it back a few times, but in the moment was just trying to get by, felt sorry for the German, but yeah live & learn :)

I was having my doubts racing in the rain and was expecting the worst. But, I got a better than expected result and I wasn't about to run the race twice. One and done no matter the result. So I sign up for the 19:00 slot and hope for the best.

Qualifying was interesting with people slipping and sliding everywhere. I couldn't get a good lap on the intermediate tires due to the on track carnage, so I switched to the wet tires as the rain picked up and set a time to set me P10 in the end. I did try another stint before time ran out in the intermediate tires, but I hit a puddle or hydroplaned and spun out. I started the race on the wets and I'm glad I did. I was way behind the leaders, but I had a bit of comfort with the wet tires.

Lots of drivers quit the race at the beginning and I did get a 3 second penalty early on for hitting the wall twice after getting my tires on the curb before the final turn. I didn't make that mistake again. That sets me back a few spots, but my pace was better than a Scirocco I was chasing down and the 2 drivers that caught up to me after my penalty was served. I eventually got around said Scirocco and started to pull away and they weren't a threat the rest of the race. For some reason one of the leaders put on hard tires and I made an easy pass. I'm guessing that was a mistake. Most of the race was just myself running alone and I finish P8. Good enough for me.
