At the moment calculating how much DR you gain or loose is all guesswork. If you are in similar rated lobbies you may only gain less than a few hundred DR.

There is also the fact that you are more likely to see the same people more often as the consoles are split so you will see a reduced driver pool to match from.
They split the console generations??
I never heard anything about them doing that, is there an actual statement to show this?

It would make sense for sure I just never thought they'd actually do it.

Not in Nations Cup/Manufacturers Cup, only in Daily races is it split

I've only seen others mention it myself. I guess it was done for loading/ thinking time.

If you're on PS5 you can see in the lobby for Nations/Manu races the PS4 players loading in some seconds later.

It's likely where the issues stem from in the WS, where the daily lobbies don't seem to have the same problems on PS5, and I've not heard complaints from PS4 users either.

Has anyone raced in today's Gr4 Cup? How will the weather develop in qualifying and the race?

And yes, according to my information, the racing lobbies are separated between PS4 and PS5 users, which also explains the few drivers in the lobbies of the PS5 drivers.

As a PS4 driver in class B, I have always had full rooms and have not yet had an A or A+ driver there. AND I'm usually always one of the first in the room who's fully loaded and could/can already start the warm-up, but have to wait. It is questionable whether this is due to the console or the Internet connection. For example, I have a 400k fiber line.

I personally don't think, that PS4 and PS5 are separated. Usually up to 1/3 of the players are in the lobby, the rest is getting into it after about 10-20sec (didn't measure it). You could drive for about half a lap of Deep Forest Raceway until the 30sec timer went active.
The race at 6pm cest had at least in my lobby some sort of "lag". Qualification started about 2-3min later, nobody left the lobby.
Connection: Cable 1.000k, PS5 with LAN

As I see it is today.
According to Gran-Turismo.com it is indeed Friday the 8th:

to be sure i also checked Youtube but see no live Manu series progressing there...

So I had everything right after all... I probably won't have time to push my Q time any further, but if I then find at least one free lap in the race, I should be able to do pretty well.

Good luck then, hope you have a good race!

(i will not do mine, as my schedule mentioned the 8th and do not have time today)

Does anyone knows in what conditions the race and qualifying takes place? Should I equip RH/IM/W tires?

Also, people are riding the wall in the top times and, not that it matters much because quali could be completely different, setting times on dry track 🤔

Nations last night. This was my first nations event in GT7. Not having a lot of coin to buy and build out a new Carthage could meet weight minimum and hp cap I decided to use the 2007 Audi R8. I already had full race suspension and brakes/pads so, this was my car.

Played around with suspension and diff settings for about 30 minutes before my first quali session. This was Americas 1800 time slot, GT2.

I left the pits and gave myself some room to the gaggle of GTRs ahead. Came around to finish lap 1 with a time of 1:33.9 which was good enough for 8th place. Lap 2 I ran into some traffic and aborted. Lap 3 I was up going into t6 when I was bumped off line by someone who assumed that a half cars width is enough of a gap to fender ride someone. Time for one more Lap. No traffic and a better Lap elevated me to 4th with a 1.33.0. Happy with results it's off to the race. Race starts loading and.....sad trombone....game crashes....

Okay, gonna go eat dinner then hit the 1900 lobby.

Once again, lots of room built in during Lap 1 quali. Put down a banker of 1.33.2 which leaves me in 9th. Lap 2 I bobble turns 3-4. Lap 3 is full concentration and I bring home a 1.32.2 elevating me to 6th. Quali ends I stayed there.

Race starts and I get a great launch propelling me to 4th. Oh my, someone didn't like that and they pushed me off line in T5 then rode my fender to the end of the tunnel, I lifted early to allow them on their merry way and they botch it over the bridge which forces me inside with no other driver there. As I am releasing thr brakes with the wheel turned I get a heavy hit from the rear causing a little moment. One the strait I get overtaken by a 6 car train. Fair play to them and it's time to start working.

Coming up to the hair pin 2 of them get it wrong and I sail by on the inside leaving them room to exit. I push down the main straight and have a solid and uneventful Lap. Next Lap the unhappy gent from Lap 1 shows up behind the car chasing me. He barges bounces off of him and I into the left hander after the bridge. The car chasing me didn't get as squirrely as I did exiting the corner and he gets the place. Into the hair pin angry guy gets it wrong and pushes the lexus ahead of me out to the wall. I slip inside and leave a car width for them to reenter the track. The lexus decides he needs 2 car lengths and as he's reentering he didn't account for his inside wheels being on the curbing and he loses it taking angry guy out with him.

The rest of the race was uneventful except I put down enough solid laps to drag myself up to fifth as a few cars ahead of me had issues at various places and I only had 1 strategic pass coming up the hill through the tunnel. That one the driver didn't calculate my speed advantage over him and he chose to cover the inside line going into the hairpin. I shot outside and put a car length on him which allowed me a fast line through the hairpin. Kudos to him for not cooking the brain zone and killing us both.

Nations was fun. Angry guy finished the race in 10 then amassed enough penalties to claim his reward at the back of the pack.

Once again people, if you think you see a half car width gap through a corner, you've already missed it. Just get them in the next corner. This is not a MadMax simulator.

I'm a PS4 user and I've had World Championship races against people that I know are racing on PS5s, so it appears that they are grouped together at least for the championships.

So it looks like in EMEA and Americas it is today but for everyone else it's on Friday
If you check the original announcement in "news"" it has this race listed for the 8th, but the actual event schedule under the Manufacturer's Championship it has the race scheduled for today, which is also what it's scheduled for in the game.

The schedule as listed on the website under the Manufacturer's Championship:

@Hasnain282 is correct too.

If you head to the Sport Mode section of the official website, the schedule for Europe and North and South America has the race today (well, the Brazil site has it for Thursday, but this patently incorrect - it seems to have the Nations Cup schedule copied to the Manufacturers Cup in its entirety), but the schedule for Asia and Oceania has the race on Friday:

Asia: https://www.gran-turismo.com/hk/gt7/sportmode/championship/114/1 (8/4)
Oceania: https://www.gran-turismo.com/au/gt7/sportmode/championship/114/1 (8/4)
Europe: https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gt7/sportmode/championship/115/1 (6/4)
N. America: https://www.gran-turismo.com/us/gt7/sportmode/championship/116/1 (6/4)

Ah I see...I guess we'll be the guinea pigs for them instead of the other way around... I wonder how many people from EMEA and the Americas will miss this because of the incorrect schedule in the announcements.

Actually I wonder if either Asia/Oceania's race will actually run today and they just forgot to change the dates for that region, or if ours is actually supposed to also be on the 8th and it just won't let us join a lobby when it's time. We'll find out one way or another I suppose...

Was pretty happy I have to work the next two Wednesday nights and it wouldn't affect the test seasons :/

How come in the Manu cup its only the best 1 of 9 races? Makes entering into any other races entirely pointless if you got a good split early on

It won't be, it's just an error. Expect it to be 7 of 9, same as Nations.

It's supposed to be the best 3 of 9 races. They're not going to count your 2nd-best score until after tonight, and won't count your 3rd-best score until after Round 7.

It's best 7 out of 9 according to the website.

thanks for that, bit of a shame - was enjoying a Gr.3 manufacturer fight in S1!
