I'm enjoying my stealth cars, my 787B has over 3400Miles on it, I'm happy I got the SE, didn't know these cars were worth alot..

I just asked my mum to buy me it, just like she bought me my PS3, lol.
i would ask my mum to buy it, but shes ash in a box in my living room, that reminds me i really must dig a hole soon.

I was lucky to get my stealth cars for free...when I wasn't supposed to. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to, so I asked EB games (aus) and they said no, but then gave me some spare codes anyway.

If I knew how much they would sell for, I would have just sold them, then GT5 would have paid for itself hahaha

I do love the Mazda though. Great car.

Yeah has the best start-up sound of all (other than the R2 unit Tesla) and sounds like a banshee on the track

Somebody needs to see if they can clone stealth models by copying the tunings and parts. As for the liveries, to be honest I prefer the usual 787b, would like to know if that can be repainted matt black. Only difference then, if the tunings/parts can be matched, are the "Gran Turismo" decals on the stealth models. Why any decals? GT4's stealth cars were just matt black, and looked more evil and awesome.

PS - Actually I should try the cloning thing when I have enough dough for a "spare" 787b or F1

That's not entirely true.

The BF series case in point. Also, you can buy the Limited stuff from Forza as DLC now.

Besides that, the Signature edition was never available in the U.S., and some of those cars were never partof a pre-order either. Having said that, the more I look at the Stealth cars the more I think they are sort of silly. I really liked my Mclaren at first, but now that I have my 908 I am sort of "blah" about my stealth. I wanted the 787B stealth but now that I am getting closer to being able to afford one I sort of don't care any more. I would still purchase them as DLC though just to collect them.

If you're going to quote me, read my whole post then quote me. You will see that i noted that individual vendors like WalMart and GameStop never released their specific preorder bonuses. The VIP car pack in Forza was exclusive to the LCE. The Chrome line cars are exclusive to the CE in GT5.

The stealth cars probably have low chance of being released while the Chrome Lines have a higher chance.

The retailer-specific pre-order bonus cars for GT PSP were later released as a free DLC containing them all. I'd consider that a better indicator than what happened with Forza, since it's still Sony.

Well, i probably stand corrected then.
The Stealth Cars and Chrome Lines may be released later, but only time will tell ;)

If so, why are they so much better besides the livery?

They are lighter, perhaps some 200 kg, since their entire body is rebuilt in carbon. Which is why they are black, and you can not paint them.

Worth $90... maybe if you have $90 you do not know what else to use for.

No. I cancelled my preorder of the CE 5 days before release to order the standard game, and just the SLS.
Thankfully I realized I was about to be ripped off.

Are you sure? Where/who ever said they were carbon? And you can't reduce the stock model weight by the same amount?

If you are right I just fell in love with my Mazda all over again :)

the standard McLaren F1 it's also made of carbon fiber, the 787B is also made of carbon fiber, the others i dont know

NOS Waster commented on Chrome Line cars that came with Collector's Edition...

"The Chrome Lines? That seems entirely possible because it isn't a vendor-specific thing. It could be equated to the VIP car pack in Forza that was released with their CE."

Actually, the answer would be no: Because Jeff and Sid both confirmed from PD that internally Chrome Line cars will be tied to Collector's Edition forever and evermore!

Although, as for incentive pre-order bonuses from different retailers such as Gamestop, Walmart, Target, Amazon, Best Buy, etc will end up on PSN Store in near future (I don't know if that was confirmed or not, but it couldn't hurt for us to hope)...

yes they are worth it, $500 for engine repair, $500 for rigidity, you save sooo much money, so less grinding, makes you enjoy the game more. i'd hate to have the actual 787 and fork out 500K to fix it. $500 is soooo worth it. and the 6 stealth cars are good because you can pretty much use them in any event. german cars = audi, japanese gt = 787 etc. awesome!

Don't be so ridiculous, you realise you can earn 500k in about 20mins, my minolta has done over 6000 miles and is still at the same power with clean oil. If you want to waste that kinda money on them it should only be for the sake of a collectors item.

I think it is funny that anyone might be willing to spend that kind of money for these cars. I can't help but wonder if these guys think they are so valueable why did they not preorder the collectors edition as well as pre order the standard from one or two different places. Could have got the book and the model and an extra copy of the GT5 disc and the stealth cars for that money.

The cars come with upgrades installed and seem to have some 'factory tuning' done, but I'm not sure how they could make the cars "better" than the normal ones. They wouldn't be the same car anymore, doesn't seem like a GT thing to do. I personally have not purchased a second F1 yet to see though.

According to some other posts in the forum, some people have purchased the non stealth versions and ended up with more power, less weight, etc when compared to a maxed stealth car.

True but the amount of downforce the stealths have cannot be reached by non-stealth equivalents

I would've thought so, if they implemented a form of drag racing or testing to see who is quicker or faster in a timed form away from a circuit. But in the form that it is, it's not worth the extra money and I for one am glad I only got the standard edition because I get nearly 99% of the cars that you get in CE or SE and saved a couple of hundred dollars in the process.

Besides, most of the people that I've seen online that own them can't drive them for squat anyway. :sly:

I still want the 787B stealth, I wonder if I'm able to trade for one by me being in the U.S. or if I'll need a euro account? Anyone tried?

Each & every stealth car Is so much fun. I didn't buy signature edition just for the cars.
Worth every penny IMO.

Well, there's a Formula GT car on auction right now for over $60US, with 5 days still remaining in the auction.

Wow, isn't that, illegal?

Yes it's possible. The Stealth cars are tradable. Even to other regions since I traded an RX7 with an American once.

Found the label that says PAL, says on the back so yes, it does still exist ;)

Lol, it's funny you actually searched... Still bull**** it's on there. Because PAL/NTSC aren't used anymore. Anywhere. Which label btw? :p

Once you mentioned it I was curious as I was certain I'd seen it on other games so I thought I'd check :p

If you look on the back there's a small row of yellow backgrounded images one of them (the middle one I think) says PAL|HD 720p, 1080i, 1080P

Also next to the blu-ray logo is the 'region 2' symbol as well :sly:

Haha, yeah you're actually right... Still, flatpanel TV's these days don't use PAL/NTSC/NTSC-J or whatever anymore. We use regions (films only) and resolutions. Plus, the "region 2" on the back of the GT5 box doesn't mean it only works in EU, in fact, it will even work in japan on Japanese PlayStation 3's. That just says the region it's made (I think) and sold in.

Anyway, good find. :p

Alright I've been searching for an answer to this for awhile now. I live in the US, have a US PSN master account but I would like to purchase the PAL Stealth car pack off ebay. I read somewhere that DLC follows the console and not the account, so in theory if I create a UK account, head to the PS Store and input the DLC codes it should download them to the console no prob. Will they be available ingame on my US account? Will I need to gift them from my UK account? Either way would be fine I suppose. I just want to know for sure this will work before dropping the $90. And yes I do think it is worth it for the time I will save grinding for XP because repairing chassis and engine rebuilds on the non-stealth versions of the car are ridiculously expensive.

I bought all 6 PAL Edition for $50, worth every penny.

Also have all chromeline and yes they are better and lighter than the ones in the game, cheaper to maintain too.

The F1 and Nascar stealths aren't really that great. There are better handling cars than the F1 and the Nascar is just like any other Nascar except its black. Bah, definitely not worth $90.00 - but if people are buying 'em for that much than... dammit lol

If one can make 1.5mil in an hour (500k/20min) using a Toyota Minolta but also might need to repair the chassis or/and engine rebuild which is like 1mil, ending in profit of 500k. While similarly the same player can using the Stealth 787b and make the same amount of credits however without need to spend as much on repairs. Hence profit of 1499000 (minus 1k on repairs).

In addition if they initially had the stealth cars, they wouldn't need to purchase certain cars for the a-spec events (eg GT500) hence the credits adds up. The person with the stealth car will still be slightly richer (in the short term).

I got the sig edition for christmas and got all chromeline and stealth cars in there.
I wouldnt pay $90 just for sum dlc which will probs end up on PSN store in near futuire anyway. The cars are good and only cost 500cr to rebuild/repair but u'd be bette roff just buying a copy of the signature edition instead
