Do the codes for a game shark differ for the standard copy of GT3, and the Greatest Hits version? I'm having trouble with the codes pre-installed in the game shark, they don't seem to work at all.
Are there different versions of GT3?

all greatest hits means is that so many copies have been bought, polyphony gave the go-ahead to make more versions of the game. all it is, is just a big fancy name. platinum, greatest hits, and the regular are all the same.

Hmm...must figure out what I'm doing wrong, then. See, I load GT3:A-spec (is there a B-spec, anyhow?) and press which code I wanna use, and it should work, right?

some people refer to concept and 4 as b-spec, but there is no true b-spec. anyways, there should be a check or something signifying which codes are on, and makesure there are actualy (M) must be on codes. you can find these if your using gameshark of course at GameShark.com or if your using action replay you could find it at codejunkies.com

umm to clarify "a-spec" is used in japan as saying its the "****" so b-spec would be worse than a-spec

I have greatest hits as well. I just used my Sharkport to look up the GT3 GH codes, as the regular codes do not work. If you don't have a Sharkport, I would suggest looking for the codes on the Gameshark site.

dont see what yall are having problems with, the game is the same, the codes are the same, yall must have some defective stuff, unless they changed the way they are printing the disc now, which is verypossible, even then, the codes SHOULD still work

Mega Hits is the Europeon version as Greatest Hits is just aftercopies of the game. Sorta like a legal bootleg version.

Yeah man you probably won't want to hear this but here it goes: GAMESHARK does not work with any games that say greatest hits because my friend has the same gt3 I have but his is greatest hits and my gameshark does not work on his game for some reason because if you otice the greatest hits version cost's less than the real version so they probably cut some software crap out of it to lower the cost or something.

Let me think um if you live in America no they have sold so many of them and the game is old enough the price drops its the same game just cheaper. Does that help anyone and e-maxxer mine wouldn't work on my friend's ps2, but when I brought his game to my ps2, bang it worked.

my next door neighbors ps2 wont read the blueish-purple discs like gameshark, x-port.
but i'll be asking other questions soon

complete the races, get a version 2 and buy which ones you can, use the mks program. many different ways.

to answer the original the greatest hits version has a different hex coding and the codes that you would use for the original wont work but there are(well there should be) codes for greatest hits on the gameshark website www.gamshark.com

drifter 7, if it was the hex codes then the codes i got from gameshark.com wouldnt work on my version. if they changed the hex codes, the game would not be the same.

The codes on gameshark.com work for mine and my friends GH edition(note: my friend and I use the same codes). Which means that gt40 and I agree that the hex codes must be the same.

before my friends quit reading the blue and purple discs, his v3, and my v2 worked on his. even with his being a greatest hits.
did you not know the codes make the cars? if they changed the codes the cars would look different. the background might be white instead of black or something. are you trying to mislead us Drifting Dude?

code breaker uses a totaly different engine then Gameshark and Action Replay. AR and GS v2 codes are the same. so you can put AR v2 gt3 codes onto the GS v2 and it will work.
note, you cant always trust what is said in the forums. you may never now, on my profile i post im 14, but i may be a 50 year old granpa not knowing what he is talking about. but if the hex codes were different, nothing would work the same. basic game knowledge.

Its settled different name (as in GH edition) same game, same game same codes, different cheat device(unless AR2 and GS2) different codes everyone get that? Also, if they change the hex coding the game would be different. And if they GH game differed from the regular game gameshark.com would have two different versions posted but they don't. Thank God that's over.
